With those arms, which his father made strong for him, he is ready for every deed from birth; with which, laying low the enemy on earth, he opened up the path with the thunderbolt, ever victorious.

In the morning, a new chariot is yoked for you, with four yokes, three seats, and seven reins; with ten wheels, shining for men, it is swift with offerings and thoughts.

For him, the first, the second, and also the third are prepared, and he is the priest for men; one begets another's offspring, another is born, and he, the mighty bull, joins with the others.

Come, Indra, with your two bays, or with four, or with six when you are invoked. Come with eight or ten to drink the soma, O generous one, may you not be held back from the contest.
Come near with twenty, with thirty, with forty yoked bays. Come, Indra, with fifty splendid steeds, with sixty, with seventy, to drink the soma.
Come near with eighty, with ninety, drawn by a hundred bays. For this soma has been poured for you, Indra, at the rites of the Shunahotras, for your exhilaration.
Come to me, Indra, for my hymn; place all your bays in the yoke of your chariot. For you are to be invoked in many places; rejoice here, O mighty one, in this pressing of soma.
Let not our friendship with Indra be broken; may his bounty's daughter give to us. May we, seeking to live, reach the shelter of the eldest, the protection, the embrace, again and again.

Rejoicing in this sweet drink, Indra, with the thunderbolt in hand, split the serpent that had covered the waters. When, like birds to their sisters, the streams hastened, and the courses of the rivers were set in motion.
That mighty Indra set the waters in motion, after slaying the serpent, towards the ocean. He generated the sun, made the days and nights, and established the workings of time.

Indra, unconquered, gave many gifts to Manu, and to the worshipper he slays the foe. He became instantly helpful to men, surpassing all rivals in the contest for the sun.
That Indra, for the one who presses soma, gives the sun, the god removes harm from mortals who praise him. When he brings wealth, hidden or manifest, to the one who seeks, he bestows a share, favoring him.
He shattered Shushna, the dry one, and Kuyava for Sārathya, and for Kutsa. For Divodāsa, Indra destroyed ninety-nine cities of Shambara.

Thus, Indra, may we, striving for fame, praise you as you deserve. May we attain that seventh stream, O powerful one, and bow before the generous giver, the destroyer of foes.
Thus, O hero, the Gritsamadas have fashioned their hymn for you, as craftsmen their works. Devoted to the sacred utterance, Indra, may they ever gain your favor, strength, prosperity, and graciousness.

You, Indra, with your aid, with your power, protect the people. You, as the guardian, defend the worshipper, as a wise leader, from whoever attacks him.
May Indra, young and invoked, be our friend, gracious protector of men; he who brings near the one who praises, the one who is patient, the one who cooks, and the one who sings hymns.
That Indra I praise, that Indra I glorify, in whom of old the strong have rejoiced; he, being invoked, fulfills the desire for wealth for the one who offers new prayers.
He, favoring the songs of the Angirases, Indra, eager for praise, seeking the path, stole the dawns with the sun; even the ancient things he shattered, singing, with his might.
That renowned Indra, the god, stands exalted, most formidable among beings; he, self-sustaining, brought down the head of the proud, beloved, challenging Dasa.

To him, mighty Indra, was strength given, with the gods, in the contest for riches; when he set his thunderbolt upon his arms, he slew the foes and broke the iron fortresses.
