Let not the enmity of god or mortal rule over us; protect us also from the hatred of that one.
By you, may we overcome all hatreds, as streams overcome obstacles.

May the flow of clarified butter be for us, O ancient, most excellent priest, wondrous son of strength.

He who shines forth with radiant light, wondrous with his beams, enveloping all with his unfading rays.
Atri, desiring sovereignty of the sun, increased Agni with hymns; upon him he placed all glories.
By the powers of Agni, Indra, Soma, and the gods, may we, unharmed, join together and overcome our foes.
The Hotar, knowing, sits in the seat of the Hotar, fierce, shining, endowed with skill; Agni, steadfast in his vows, wise, bestower of a thousand, with pure tongue.
You are the messenger, you are our protector, you are the bringer of wealth, O mighty leader; Agni, be the guardian of our offspring and bodies, never failing, ever watchful.
We offer to you, Agni, in the highest abode, we offer with songs in the lower seat; from the womb where you were kindled, to you, when kindled, the offerings are brought.
Agni, offer the most worthy oblation, grant abundant gifts to the worshipper; you are indeed the lord of riches, the inspirer of bright speech.
Both your gifts do not diminish, O wondrous one, day by day as you are born; make the singer prosperous, Agni, make him lord of desirable wealth.

Agni, first invoked, like a father in the house, when kindled by men, wearing splendor, immortal, wise, praiseworthy, strong in contest.
Hear my call, Agni of brilliant light, immortal, wise, with all songs; the tawny ones draw your chariot, the red ones bear it, you have made the dawns your protectors.
They have produced the well-nourished, upright one; Agni became the embryo in many forms; even in the dry wood, by his powers, he dwells, unopposed, with insight.

From every side I approach the one who turns away evil, may he accept this with his mind; Agni, of youthful beauty, of desirable form, I touch him, ever growing in his body.
Let us speak, O Agni, with chosen words, knowing the portion, strong, as your envoys, in the manner of Manu; I call upon Agni, never failing, with speech and sweet praise, for wealth.
Hear the call, O Indra, let us not be harmed; may we be among those you make rich; for these songs, like flowing rivers, increase your strength, O bestower of wealth.
O Indra, you released the great rivers which were held back, O hero, by the serpent; you struck down the immortal Dasa who thought himself mighty, growing strong through your songs of praise.
Indeed, O hero, in those hymns and praises, in the Rudra-like chants, O Indra, these are for you; in which, delighting, you are honored, just as the shining streams flow forth for Vayu.
Bright is your power, which we increase; bright is the thunderbolt you hold in your arms; bright are you, Indra, growing in strength among us, overcoming the Dasa hosts together with the sun.
Hidden in secret, concealed, covered in the waters, veiled in magic, dwelling there—yet, O hero, by your might you struck down the serpent who held back the waters and upheld the sky.
