Let this, O Heaven and Earth, be true—what I now declare to you, father and mother. Be the nearest helpers of the gods; may we find this people, long-living and vigorous.
May the all-knowing god Savitar come to us with blessings at the assembly, accompanied by the goddesses of plenty. As young men gather, may all the world come together for our protection by his wisdom.
May all the gods come to us from every side—Mitra, Aryaman, Varuna, united. As all the mighty ones of the world, may they grant us strength, like a powerful band.
I praise you as the most welcome guest, O Agni, with blessings, together with the Turvani, united. May Varuna grant us good repute, and may the radiant sun carry us beyond hatred and want.
To you I come with reverence, seeking victory, O Ushas and Night, like a cow full of milk. Measuring the hymn on the same day, in your twofold forms, you hold the milk in that vessel.
And may Ahibudhnya, the bringer of happiness, lead us, as a nourishing mother leads her child; may the river carry us, by which we cross over the offspring of the waters, whom swift and mighty ones bear.
And may Tvashtar come here with our wise ones, united in purpose, to partake; may Indra, slayer of Vritra, most powerful among men, come here with the people.
And may our thoughts yoked with horses approach him, as cows lick their young calf; to him, the most fragrant among men, voices sing, as wives to a husband.
And may the Maruts, with their ancient host, be of one mind with us; like chariots drawn by dappled horses, like gods joined in friendship, may they be protectors.
When their greatness shines forth, they set forth, well-yoked and splendid; then, on a good day, their armies, like a sharp weapon, sweep away all obstacles.
Call upon the Ashvins for help, call upon Pushan, for they are self-powerful; may Vishnu, Vata, and the skillful Ribhus, free from enmity, turn towards the gods with favor.
May this your radiance, O worshipful ones, be with us, bringing increase and a secure dwelling; which, striving among the gods for wealth, may we find among the people, long-lasting.
I will praise the Father, great in law and power, by whose might Trita struck down Vritra, the many-layered.

Sweet Father, honeyed Father, we have chosen you; be our protector.

Come to us, O nourishing Father, with auspicious guidance; bringer of joy, free from hatred, a friend, gracious and unwavering.
Yours, O Father, are those juices, spread throughout the realms, established as if resting in the sky like the winds.
Yours, O Father, are those gifts; yours is the sweetest, O Father; the sweet ones of the juices, like strong-necked ones, delight in them.
In you, O Father, the mind of the great gods is set; by your sign, Trita slew the serpent.
When you, O Father, moved among the shining mountains, even there, O honeyed Father, the best food is to be sought.
When we taste the essence of waters and plants, become nourishing within, O Vātāpi.
Of your soma, with the head of a cow, with the head of barley, we partake; become nourishing within, O Vātāpi.
O plant, become nourishing as gruel, kidney, and marrow; become nourishing within, O Vātāpi.
You, O Father, we would gladly receive with words, as cows a desired offering; from the gods we seek you as a companion at the feast, for ourselves we seek you as a companion at the feast.
Kindled today, you reign, O god, victorious among the gods; O wise envoy, carry the offerings.
When, O Tanūnapāt, the sacrifice is prepared with honey, you bestow countless riches.
Like one who summons, you are to be praised; bring here the worthy gods for the sacrifice, O Agni, you who possess a thousandfold strength.
With radiance they have spread the ancient sacred grass, endowed with a thousand heroes, where the Ādityas shine forth.
The shining, sovereign, mighty, and abundant streams—those many and great ones—flow with clarified butter.
On the splendid, well-adorned seat, radiant with beauty, let the Dawns sit here.
The first, eloquent, divine priests—may they, the wise ones, accept this sacrifice of ours.
