You are the lord of wealth, master of treasures; you are the best of friends, O lord of friendship. Indra, speak together with the Maruts; then, accept the offerings in due order.
With reverence I approach you with this hymn, seeking the favor of the swift ones. O Maruts, granting gifts worthy of knowing, remove reproach and release the horses.
This praise, O Maruts, is offered to you with reverence, shaped in the heart, set in the mind, O gods. Come here, accepting with your minds, for you are indeed strengthened by reverence.
May the praised Maruts show us mercy, and may the praised Maghavan, most gracious, do so as well. May our pleasant woods stand upright, and may the Maruts grant us victory every day.
From this strength I seek protection, fleeing in fear from Indra, O Maruts. May the sharp offerings be for you; we have acted differently—show us mercy.
By whom the mornings are counted, the dawns in their brightness, with the strength of the mighty, ever enduring—may he, the bull with the Maruts, grant us fame, the strong one, steadfast, with the fierce.
Protect us, Indra, with those who are stronger; be with the Maruts, warding off reproach. Bearing good guidance, conquering, may we know this people, long-lived, victorious.
Let your approach be splendid, let your aid be splendid, O generous ones, O Maruts, shining like serpents.
Far away be your sharp weapon, O generous Maruts; far away may you cast the stone, O mighty ones.
Around the dwelling of Tṛṇaskanda, O generous ones, you spread; raise us upright for life.
Let us sing the Sama-song in the sky, as we praise that radiant, resounding one; cows, milking cows, unbound, move toward the divine abode.
The bull, praised with bulls and offerings, like a beast not to be eaten, should be yoked for sacrifice; the noble one, the worthy of worship, brings the twin offerings, the hotar, with mind and song.
The hotar marks the dwelling, as he brings the embryo from the broad earth; the neighing horse, leading, roars, the cow moves as a messenger between heaven and earth, uttering words.
Those deeds, O Ashtar, the divine ones bear for him, the ancient ones; Indra, with wondrous splendor, rejoices, like the Nasatyas, skilled in chariots.
Praise that Indra, who is truly strong, who is heroic, the generous one, who is skilled in chariots; even in opposition, he conquers the mighty, he is the destroyer of darkness.
When, in this way, his greatness is among men, the two worlds are in his embrace; Indra has united the people, he supports the vast earth, like a roof, he upholds the sky.
In battles, O hero, you are the strongest among the strong, the most renowned for victory; with Indra, in joy, the earths, even the lord, praise him with prizes.
Thus, for you, O Indra, at the Soma-pressings, the waters, when they rejoice in you, O divine ones; all things you delight in, may the cow be yours, even the lord, if you desire, you lead the peoples.
As a friend, like one well-pleased, with blessings, men praise him with songs; as Indra, the best in praise, the swift in deeds, guides the hymns.
Without rivals, men praise him with songs; may Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt, be with us; like friends, they honor the good lord, like those in the middle age, they approach him with sacrifices.
For the sacrifice, someone always seeks Indra, even the one offering with mind; at the crossing, he thirsts for the one who grants, like one longing for a long journey, he makes the path smooth.
Do not, O Indra, abandon us in battles with the gods, for your strength is ever new; even the great one, whose generosity is renowned, the Maruts praise him with song, offering.
This praise, O Indra, is for you and for us; with it, may we find the path, O Hariva; may you turn toward us for good fortune, O god, may we know this people, long-lived.
You are king, O Indra, and you, O gods, protect men; O mighty one, protect us; you are the true lord, O generous one, our savior; you are true, O Vasus, powerful and united.
Drive away, O Indra, the hostile voices of the people, when you break the seven fortresses, granting autumnal protection; remove the waters without blame, O youthful one, break the Vṛtra for Purukutsa.
O Indra, you have protected the wives of heroes, O much-invoked one, and the sky with those powers; you have destroyed the demon, the parched one, the swift-moving Turvayāṇa, like a lion in the house, the sins of the wealthy.
Indra, you lay down in that womb for glory, by the greatness of the mighty one; you released the waters when you fought, you stood firm with your bold, splendid steeds, seeking prizes.
Carry Kutsa, O Indra, in the chariot where the eager, swift horses of the wind are harnessed; let the sun's wheel move forward in the vast expanse, and with your thunder-armed might, drive away the foes.
You have struck down the enemies, O Indra, like Mitra, you have urged on the eager, swift ones, O charioteer; those who, seeing Aryaman, seek alliance, you have, with your strength, brought offspring to the deserving.
The wise one, Indra, in the contest for the sun, gave the earth as a support for the Dāsa; the generous one, the mighty, made three shining gifts—do not, O destroyer of evil speech, grant a home to the malicious.
