He who gives to Viṣṇu, the ancient and ever-new creator, the one of noble birth, he who proclaims the greatness of the mighty one from birth, truly attains fame, even that which is to be yoked.
You, whom the singers, as of old, nurture as the embryo of truth with their song, knowing even your name, they declare it; O Viṣṇu, we seek your great favor.
The king Varuṇa, the Aśvins, and the wise Maruts share in his power; Viṣṇu, the friend, upholds supreme skill and, unwearied, fills the enclosure.
Viṣṇu, who is more skillful than the skillful, has apportioned the divine share for Indra, the doer of good; the creator has set Aryaman in the threefold seat and bestowed the worshiper with a share of the order.
Agni has awakened, the sun rises, the shining dawns blaze with light; the Aśvins have yoked their chariot for the journey, and Savitar, the god, has set all beings apart.
When you, O vigorous Aśvins, yoke your chariot, shower us with your strength, with ghee and honey; may our hymn inspire you in battles, and may we, favored by heroes, win riches.
Let the chariot of the Aśvins, swift and honey-bearing, drawn by strong steeds, come near, well-praised; may the generous one, three-yoked, bring all prosperity to us, and grant us well-being for bipeds and quadrupeds.
Bring us nourishment, O Aśvins, with your honeyed whip; grant us sweet food; lead us safely across, remove our misfortunes, drive away hatred, and be our constant companions.
You have placed the embryo in living beings, you are present in all the worlds; you, O mighty Aśvins, have kindled Agni and the plants and the trees.
You are indeed healers with your remedies, and you are charioteers with your chariots; you have established power, O mighty ones, for whoever, with offering and mind, worships you.
O generous Rudras, abundant in riches and strength, grant us your favor in our invocation; O wondrous ones, when Aucathya calls upon you, you come with swift aid.
Who will worship you for this favor, O givers of wealth, when you, with reverence, approach the cow's place? Grant us splendid gifts, moving with desire as with the mind.
When your chariot is yoked for Tugra's son, it is set in the midst of the waters; may I find shelter in your protection, like a hero fleeing swiftly from pursuit.
Let the praise of Aucathya reach you, O mighty ones; let not the three-winged bird drink me dry; let not the envious one, eager for ten, harm me, nor the one bound in the snare consume the earth.
Let not the rivers, most motherly, swallow me, nor the Dāsas, if they have bound me tightly; when the head of the Dāsa is struck by Traitana, his own chest and shoulders are broken.
Dīrghatamas, son of Mamata, has served in the tenth cycle; as the ascetic of the waters, he becomes the charioteer of the inspired ones.
I praise the vast earth and sky, grown strong through sacrifice and truth, in the assemblies, with understanding; you, O divine sons of gods, with the gods, have achieved great powers by wisdom.
And I consider the mind of the father, not hostile, and the great self-power of the mother, with these invocations; the two, rich in seed, the parents, made the earth vast, with immortal paths for offspring.
Those sons, skillful and wise, the two mothers bore for ancient insight; in the law of the standing and the moving, they preserve the true path of the son, undivided.
Those magicians, possessing good understanding, measured out, being of one womb, paired, dwelling together; ever new, ever new, the wise ones, with bright insight, weave the thread in heaven, within the ocean.
That favor of Savitar, most excellent, today we desire in the god's impulse; for us, O Heaven and Earth, grant with good understanding wealth, rich in goods and a hundred herds.
For you, Heaven and Earth, beneficent to all, upholders of order, wise, bear the expanse; well-born, O Dhiṣaṇā, you move between, god and goddess, by law the pure Sun.
Wide in extent, mighty, ever active, father and mother protect the worlds; with firm might, wondrous, the two regions, as a father, established them with forms.
That fire, the son of the two parents, bearing the purifier, the wise one, purifies the worlds by his power; both the cow Pṛśni and the bull, rich in seed, always yield his bright milk.
He is the least among the gods, among the helpers, who generated the two worlds, beneficent to all; he who measured out the regions for wise action, with the ancient supports, upholding the hymn.
You, Heaven and Earth, mighty ones, grant us great glory and power, by which, ever, you spread out the peoples; may you bestow strength and vigor upon us.
Which is the best, which the youngest, has not come? Who is sent as messenger, what shall we say? We do not blame the vessel, which is of great lineage; O Agni, brother, let us praise the prosperity of the wood.
Make one vessel into four, so the gods said to you; thus you came. If you, O Saudhanvanas, do this, together with the gods you shall become worthy of sacrifice.
When you spoke to Agni, the messenger, 'Let us make a horse, let us make a chariot here; let us make a cow, let us make a youth,' these deeds, brothers, we have performed for you.
Having done so, the Ṛbhus asked, 'Where is he today, the messenger who has not come?' When he declared the vessels made four, then Tvaṣṭṛ entered among the goddesses.
