That great, beloved, and mighty support, O Asuras, which you have proclaimed, righteous and vast; you two have brought forth the skill of the great heaven, as one yokes a cow to the yoke, you set the waters in motion.
Here, by your greatness, you remove the covering, O mighty ones; the dusts, the foundations, are settled; they resound above, seeking the sun, as the Dawns, with their rays, approach like skilled women.
To you, the long-haired one has approached for immortality, where, O Mitra, O Varuna, you are praised for the path; with your own power, release and nourish our thoughts, you two inspire the poet's mind with your wisdom.
He who, worshipping you with sacrifices, truly serves, the sage Hotar, who prepares the hymn, to him you come, guiding the worship, to his songs, to grant him good favor.
You two, first adorned with sacrifices and cattle, righteous, as the mind is set in motion; the hymns, composed with thought, bear you, and with undiminished mind you grant rich gifts.
You two, O men, bear riches, you grant wealth, with your powers you protect the mighty; neither the days nor the rivers, nor the divinity, nor the merchants have ever harmed your greatness.
You two clothe yourselves in rich garments; your thoughts are flawless, your creations are true; you, Mitra and Varuna, together uphold all things with truth, dispelling all falsehood.
Even this your wisdom, O Mitra-Varuna, is recognized among these people; your true counsel, praised by the sage, is mighty; the three-edged strikes, the four-edged is fierce, the divine ordinances were first established.
The first of the footed ones departs; who, O Mitra and Varuna, knows that of you? The embryo bears the burden, even of her who is his, upholding truth, casting aside falsehood.
We see the lover of the young women going around, not approaching; the one who is clothed, spreading wide, not falling, the beloved abode of Mitra and Varuna.
Born without a horse, without a whip, the roaring one runs, his summit raised; the young men have cherished the unintelligent hymn, singing praise to the abode of Mitra and Varuna.
May the nourishing cows, devoted to the wise, bring forth abundance here; may he, knowing the ways, seek sustenance, and may he, stirring, awaken Aditi to grant vastness.
Mitra and Varuna, may we turn to you with offerings cherished by you, with reverence and prayer; may our hymn be victorious in battles, may our celestial rain be most favorable.
We worship you together, Mitra and Varuna, with offerings and reverence; with clarified butter, as priests carry forth your gifts to us through their thoughts.
Let my praise reach you, Mitra and Varuna, as a well-composed hymn; when the priest in the rituals invokes you, may the wise bring forth your favor, O mighty ones.
Aditi, the nourishing cow, has poured out for truth and for the people, Mitra and Varuna, this offering; as the priest in the ritual honors you, so the human brings the gift.
Even among the intoxicating drinks and the cows and waters, the divine ones nourish you; may the ancient lord grant us the protection of the milk of the tawny cow.
I shall proclaim the mighty deeds of Vishnu, who measured out the earthly realms; who established the upper abode, striding widely three times.
Vishnu is praised for his valor, like a fierce wild beast roaming the mountains; in whose three great strides all the worlds dwell.
Let my hymn go forth to Vishnu, the wide-striding, the strong, the lord of the mountains; who alone measured out this long, extended abode with three steps.
His three steps are filled with honey, delighting by their own nature; he alone upholds the earth and the heavens, and all the worlds.
May I attain his beloved path, where men devoted to the gods rejoice; for the wide-strider, Vishnu, that is the kin, the supreme place, the fountain of honey.
We desire to reach your abodes, where the cows with many horns roam; there, indeed, the supreme place of the wide-striding, mighty one shines forth abundantly.
Praise for you, who protect the drinker, is offered with thought; sing to the mighty Vishnu; those who stood on the slopes of the mountains, unassailable, have attained greatness like the swift.
Indra and Vishnu, fierce and swift, will protect you, O drinkers of the soma; you who defend mortals, overcoming the weak and the strong alike.
They increase the strength of the mighty; the mothers lead the seed to the bearer; the son places the lower and upper name of the father, the third in the shining realm of heaven.
We praise this strength of his, the savior, the unerring, the generous; who, with three strides, traversed the earthly realms for the wide-strider, for life.
Two of his strides are visible to mortals, who gaze and wonder; the third, none dares to reach, not even the birds flying in the sky.
With four together and ninety names, like a revolving wheel, he moves without stopping; measuring his great form with hymns, the youthful, vigorous one responds to the summons.
You are to be approached, O Viṣṇu, like a gracious friend, delighting in offerings of ghee, resplendent in your glory, spreading forth with your stride. Therefore, even one who knows, O Viṣṇu, should offer you praise and sacrifice, worthy with oblations.
