We call Indra in the morning, we call Indra at the offering in the sacrifice, we call Indra for the drinking of Soma.
Come to our pressed Soma, Indra, with your bay-haired steeds; for at the pressing we call on you.
Come now to this praise, approach this pressed libation; like a thirsty bull, drink.
These Soma draughts, pressed and set upon the sacred grass, O Indra, drink them for your strength.
This praise for you is foremost, touching the heart and most auspicious; now drink the pressed Soma.
Indra goes to every pressed libation for exhilaration, the slayer of Vṛtra, to drink Soma.
O hundred-powered one, fulfill this desire of ours with cattle and horses; we, the self-reliant, will praise you.
I invoke the help of Indra and Varuṇa, the sovereign lords; may they be gracious to us in this matter.
For you two come to aid, you answer the call of the inspired one; you are the upholders of peoples.
Indra and Varuṇa, may you satisfy us with wealth as you wish; for that, we seek your nearest favor.
For you are young in powers, young in good thoughts; may we be among those who bestow prizes.
Indra is of those who give a thousandfold, Varuṇa of those worthy of praise; their power is worthy of song.
By the help of these two may we prosper and hold firm; may there also be advancement.
Indra and Varuṇa, I call upon you for splendid bounty; keep us safe from those who wish to conquer us.
Indra and Varuṇa, now indeed, in your eager thoughts, grant us your protection.
May the well-praised hymn reach you, Indra and Varuṇa, whom I invoke, by which you uphold the seat of praise.
O Lord of Prayer, make the Soma resound, with echoing voices, as the inspired one does.
He who is rich, who drives away disease, who brings wealth and increases prosperity—may that mighty one aid us.
Let not the curse, the anger, or the harm of mortal man reach us; protect us, O Lord of Prayer.
That hero indeed does not perish, whom Indra, the Lord of Prayer, and Soma defend from mortal harm.
You, O Lord of Prayer, together with Soma and Indra, may you grant that mortal the reward, and may the gift protect him from harm.
The wondrous Lord of the Assembly, beloved and desired by Indra, the bringer of wealth and wisdom, we seek with our prayers.
Without whom not even the wise can accomplish the sacrifice—he indeed unites the thoughts of the inspired.
He strengthens the offering, makes the ritual advance, and his priesthood reaches among the gods.
I have seen Naraśaṃsa, most mighty and renowned, as splendid as the dwelling of heaven, full of festivity.
To that lovely sacrifice you are summoned for protection; come, Agni, with the Maruts.
No god nor mortal surpasses your great power; come, Agni, with the Maruts.
Those who know the vast expanse, all the gods without malice; come, Agni, with the Maruts.
Those fierce ones who have praised the hymn, unconquered in their might; come, Agni, with the Maruts.
Those bright ones, terrible in form, strong in rule, and destroyers of foes; come, Agni, with the Maruts.
