Shine for us, O Agni, among the generous; like a strong bull, O house-lord, breathe forth; let the one who must dwell, the child-bearing one, not fail, but, like armor in battle, be protected.
O Agni, may this well-offering be dearer to you than the ill-offering; may it be more beloved to your mind; by that bright, pure radiance of yours which shines from your body, may you win treasure for us.

That radiance, most wondrous, has been placed for the form; the brilliance of the god, of might, from whom it was born; when the thought approaches and accomplishes, the cows of truth bring forth flowing streams.
The shining one, rich in fathers, always lies down; the second is among the seven nurturing mothers; for the milking of this bull, the women generate the third, the tenfold wise one.
When, from the depths, the sons of strength, lords by power, step forth from the form of the buffalo; when, for the drinker of mead, they, following the sky, Mātariśvan stirs the hidden one.

Then, among the dwellers in heaven, they choose the summoner, seeking favor like Bhaga, they speed forth; the gods, by their will and might, praised by many, you carry the mortal's prayer everywhere, to be placed.
When, driven by wind, the sacrificial fire spreads out, like a neighing horse, unaging, unbroken; its path, dark at the base, black-tongued, of pure birth, they opened the realms.
Like a chariot made with harnesses, it goes with its red limbs to the sky; from there, the black ones, on the right, the sons, seek the speed of the strong one, desiring the might of the hero.

You, O Agni, youngest, for the one who presses and praises, you bestow treasure, divine, abundant; to you, ever new, youthful in strength, we seek great wealth, like Bhaga, in the assembly.
To us, you grant wealth, shining, householding, like Bhaga, wisdom, and firmness, O upholder; like rays, you guide both generations, O well-willed, you bring the praise of the gods and truth.

Pure, set among the gods, is the Hotar; among the Maruts, Bhāratī, Ilā, Sarasvatī, and Mahī, let these worthy ones sit on the sacred grass.
