इळा सरस्वती मही तिस्रो देवीर्मयोभुवः । बर्हिः सीदन्त्वस्रिधः
May Ilā, Sarasvatī, and Mahī, the three gracious goddesses, sit upon the sacred grass, unhindered.
इह त्वष्टारमग्रियं विश्वरूपमुप ह्वये । अस्माकमस्तु केवलः
Here I call Tvaṣṭar, the foremost, of manifold forms; let him be solely ours.
अव सृजा वनस्पते देव देवेभ्यो हविः । प्र दातुरस्तु चेतनम्
O Lord of the Forest, release the offering for the gods; let the giver's intention be fulfilled.
स्वाहा यज्ञं कृणोतनेन्द्राय यज्वनो गृहे । तत्र देवाँ उप ह्वये
With svāhā, perform the sacrifice for Indra in the sacrificer's house; there I call the gods.
ऐभिरग्ने दुवो गिरो विश्वेभिः सोमपीतये । देवेभिर्याहि यक्षि च
With these praises, O Agni, come with all the gods to drink Soma; approach and enjoy.
आ त्वा कण्वा अहूषत गृणन्ति विप्र ते धियः । देवेभिरग्न आ गहि
The Kanvas have called you; the wise sing your praises; come here, Agni, with the gods.
इन्द्रवायू बृहस्पतिं मित्राग्निं पूषणं भगम् । आदित्यान्मारुतं गणम्
Indra and Vāyu, Bṛhaspati, Mitra, Agni, Pūṣan, Bhaga, the Ādityas, and the Marut host.
प्र वो भ्रियन्त इन्दवो मत्सरा मादयिष्णवः । द्रप्सा मध्वश्चमूषदः
Let the exhilarating drops, eager and delightful, be carried to you; the shining juices, pressed from honey.
ईळते त्वामवस्यवः कण्वासो वृक्तबर्हिषः । हविष्मन्तो अरंकृतः
The Kanvas, seeking help, with well-spread sacred grass, offering oblations, honor you.
घृतपृष्ठा मनोयुजो ये त्वा वहन्ति वह्नयः । आ देवान्सोमपीतये
Those fires, yoked by thought, with clarified butter on their backs, bring you, O gods, to drink Soma.
तान्यजत्राँ ऋतावृधोऽग्ने पत्नीवतस्कृधि । मध्वः सुजिह्व पायय
Those worthy of sacrifice, grown strong in truth, O Agni, make the offering with their wives; let them drink the honey with well-shaped tongues.
ये यजत्रा य ईड्यास्ते ते पिबन्तु जिह्वया । मधोरग्ने वषट्कृति
Let those worthy of sacrifice, those who are to be praised, drink with their tongues, O Agni, the honey when the vaṣaṭ is uttered.
आकीं सूर्यस्य रोचनाद्विश्वान्देवाँ उषर्बुधः । विप्रो होतेह वक्षति
From the radiance of the sun, the awakened priest will call all the gods at dawn.
विश्वेभिः सोम्यं मध्वग्न इन्द्रेण वायुना । पिबा मित्रस्य धामभिः
With all the gods, O Agni, drink the Soma honey with Indra and Vāyu; drink with the power of Mitra.
त्वं होता मनुर्हितोऽग्ने यज्ञेषु सीदसि । सेमं नो अध्वरं यज
You, Agni, appointed by Manu as Hotar, sit at the sacrifices; perform this worship for us.
युक्ष्वा ह्यरुषी रथे हरितो देव रोहितः । ताभिर्देवाँ इहा वह
Yoke the two red ones to your chariot, O god, the tawny and the ruddy; with them bring the gods here.
इन्द्र सोमं पिब ऋतुना त्वा विशन्त्विन्दवः । मत्सरासस्तदोकसः
Indra, drink the Soma in due season; the drops, eager, enter you, delighting in that abode.
मरुतः पिबत ऋतुना पोत्राद्यज्ञं पुनीतन । यूयं हि ष्ठा सुदानवः
Maruts, drink in due season; purify the sacrifice from the offering onward; for you are generous givers.
अभि यज्ञं गृणीहि नो ग्नावो नेष्टः पिब ऋतुना । त्वं हि रत्नधा असि
Praise our sacrifice, O goddesses; O Inviter, drink in due season, for you are the bestower of treasures.
अग्ने देवाँ इहा वह सादया योनिषु त्रिषु । परि भूष पिब ऋतुना
Agni, bring the gods here; seat them in the three abodes; adorn all around, drink in due season.
ब्राह्मणादिन्द्र राधसः पिबा सोममृतूँरनु । तवेद्धि सख्यमस्तृतम्
Indra, drink the Soma for the sake of the Brahman's bounty, in due season; for your friendship is unbroken.
युवं दक्षं धृतव्रत मित्रावरुण दूळभम् । ऋतुना यज्ञमाशाथे
You two, Mitra and Varuna, firm in your vows, attain the sacrifice with skill, in due season, though difficult to approach.
द्रविणोदा द्रविणसो ग्रावहस्तासो अध्वरे । यज्ञेषु देवमीळते
The givers of wealth, the wealthy, those with stones in hand at the sacrifice, praise the god in the rituals.
द्रविणोदा ददातु नो वसूनि यानि शृण्विरे । देवेषु ता वनामहे
Let the giver of wealth grant us the riches that are heard of; among the gods, we desire those.
द्रविणोदाः पिपीषति जुहोत प्र च तिष्ठत । नेष्ट्रादृतुभिरिष्यत
The givers of wealth desire; offer and stand forth; from the Inviter, with the seasons, let it be obtained.
यत्त्वा तुरीयमृतुभिर्द्रविणोदो यजामहे । अध स्मा नो ददिर्भव
When we worship you, O giver of wealth, for the fourth time with the seasons, then be our supporter.
अश्विना पिबतं मधु दीद्यग्नी शुचिव्रता । ऋतुना यज्ञवाहसा
Ashvins, drink the honeyed draught, shining like fire, pure in your vows, bearers of the sacrifice in due season.
गार्हपत्येन सन्त्य ऋतुना यज्ञनीरसि । देवान्देवयते यज
By the household fire, you are the sacrificer in due season, the leader of the rites; worship the gods for the worshipper.
आ त्वा वहन्तु हरयो वृषणं सोमपीतये । इन्द्र त्वा सूरचक्षसः
Let your bays bring you, mighty one, for the drinking of Soma; Indra, those with the vision of the sun, bring you.
इमा धाना घृतस्नुवो हरी इहोप वक्षतः । इन्द्रं सुखतमे रथे
These two, rich in ghee, your bays, come here; let them carry Indra in the most pleasant chariot.
