परावतꣳ नासत्यानुदेथाम् उच्चाबुध्नꣳ चक्रथुर् जिह्मबारम् । क्षरन्न् आपो न पायनाय राये सहस्राय तृष्यते गोतमस्य
You, O Nāsatyas, followed the distant one; you made the deep well with a crooked rim; the waters flowed, like streams, for Gotama's thousandfold wealth, to quench his thirst.
जुजुरुषो नासत्योत वव्रिम् प्रामुञ्चतꣳ द्रापिम् इव च्यवानात् । प्रातिरतꣳ जहितस्यायुर् दस्राद् इत् पतिम् अकृणुतꣳ कनीनाम्
O Nāsatyas, you freed from bonds the one who longed to live, as from a garment you released Cyavāna; you restored the life of the abandoned one, and, O wondrous ones, you made him lord of the maidens.
तद् वाꣳ नरा शꣳस्यꣳ राध्यꣳ चाभिष्टिमन् नासत्या वरूथम् । यद् विद्वाꣳसा निधिम् इवापगूळ्हम् उद् दर्शताद् ऊपथुर् वन्दनाय
That, O men, is your praiseworthy and desirable gift, O Nāsatyas, your protection; when, knowing, you brought forth for worship, as from a hidden treasure, what was concealed.
तद् वाꣳ नरा सनये दꣳस उग्रम् आविष् कृणोमि तन्यतुर् न वृष्टिम् । दध्यङ् ह यन् मध्व् आथर्वणो वाम् अश्वस्य शीर्ष्णा प्र यद् ईम् उवाच
That, O men, I declare openly for gain, with powerful praise, like thunder brings rain; when Dadhyañc Atharvaṇa told you, with the horse’s head, what he had learned.
अजोहवीन् नासत्या करा वाम् महे यामन् पुरुभुजा पुरꣳधिः । श्रुतꣳ तच् छासुर् इव वध्रिमत्या हिरण्यहस्तम् अश्विनाव् अदत्तम्
Purubhujā, the generous, invoked you, O Nāsatyas, with her hands for great help; you heard, as if from Vadhri’s wife, and gave the golden-handed one, O Aśvins.
आस्नो वृकस्य वर्तिकाम् अभीके युवꣳ नरा नासत्यामुमुक्तम् । उतो कविम् पुरुभुजा युवꣳ ह कृपमाणम् अकृणुतꣳ विचक्षे
You released the sitting bird from the wolf’s jaws, O men, O Nāsatyas; and you, O generous ones, made the wise poet, though suffering, discerning.
चरित्रꣳ हि वेर् इवाच्छेदि पर्णम् आजा खेलस्य परितक्म्यायाम् । सद्यो जङ्घाम् आयसीꣳ विश्पलायै धने हिते सर्तवे प्रत्य् अधत्तम्
For, like a bird its wing, you cut off the leg of Vispala in the midst of the night’s play; immediately you fitted an iron limb for her, O Ashvins, so she could win the prize in the contest for wealth.
शतम् मेषान् वृक्ये चक्षदानम् ऋज्राश्वꣳ तम् पितान्धꣳ चकार । तस्मा अक्षी नासत्या विचक्ष आधत्तꣳ दस्रा भिषजाव् अनर्वन्
You gave a hundred sheep to the blind Ṛjrāśva; his father had made him blind, but you, O wondrous Ashvins, healers without fault, restored his sight so he could see.
आ वाꣳ रथꣳ दुहिता सूर्यस्य कार्ष्मेवातिष्ठद् अर्वता जयन्ती । विश्वे देवा अन्व् अमन्यन्त हृद्भिः सम् उ श्रिया नासत्या सचेथे
The daughter of the Sun mounted your chariot, O Ashvins, shining like a skilled craftsman’s work, victorious with her horse; all the gods approved in their hearts, and you, O Ashvins, shared in her glory.
यद् अयातꣳ दिवोदासाय वर्तिर् भरद्वाजायाश्विना हयन्ता । रेवद् उवाह सचनो रथो वाꣳ वृषभश् च शिꣳशुमारश् च युक्ता
When you came, O Ashvins, with light for Divodāsa and for Bharadvāja, your chariot, drawn by the bull and the dolphin yoked together, brought prosperity, moving in harmony.
रयिꣳ सुक्षत्रꣳ स्वपत्यम् आयुः सुवीर्यꣳ नासत्या वहन्ता । आ जह्नावीꣳ समनसोप वाजैस् त्रिर् अह्नो भागꣳ दधतीम् अयातम्
O Nāsatyas, you brought wealth, noble rule, offspring, long life, and heroic strength; you came to Jahnavi, united in purpose, bearing prizes, granting her a threefold share of the day.
परिविष्टꣳ जाहुषꣳ विश्वतः सीꣳ सुगेभिर् नक्तम् ऊहथू रजोभिः । विभिन्दुना नासत्या रथेन वि पर्वताꣳ अजरयू अयातम्
You carried Jahusha, who was surrounded on all sides, safely by night through the spaces with your swift chariots; O Nāsatyas, with your cleaving chariot you crossed the ageless mountains.
एकस्या वस्तोर् आवतꣳ रणाय वशम् अश्विना सनये सहस्रा । निर् अहतꣳ दुच्छुना इन्द्रवन्ता पृथुश्रवसो वृषणाव् अरातीः
For the sake of one dwelling, O Aśvins, you brought riches for battle, thousands for winning; you drove away the hostile ones with Indra’s aid, O mighty and renowned ones, you struck down the enemies.
शरस्य चिद् आर्चत्कस्यावताद् आ नीचाद् उच्चा चक्रथुः पातवे वाः । शयवे चिन् नासत्या शचीभिर् जसुरये स्तर्यम् पिप्यथुर् गाम्
Even for the sake of a single arrow, you came to aid; from below or above you made your steeds ready to protect; even for one lying down, O Nāsatyas, with your powers, for the eager youth, you filled the cow with milk.
अवस्यते स्तुवते कृष्णियाय ऋजूयते नासत्या शचीभिः । पशुꣳ न नष्टम् इव दर्शनाय विष्णाप्वꣳ ददथुर् विश्वकाय
To the one who calls, to the one who praises, you respond, O Nasatyas, with your powers; as one finds a lost animal for seeing, you grant the all-desired object to the seeker.
दश रात्रीर् अशिवेना नव द्यून् अवनद्धꣳ श्नथितम् अप्स्व् अ१न्तः । विप्रुतꣳ रेभम् उदनि प्रवृक्तम् उन् निन्यथुः सोमम् इव स्रुवेण
For ten nights and nine days, bound and fettered within the waters, Rebha, separated and loudly crying, you two led forth, O Ashvins, as Soma is poured with the ladle.
प्र वाꣳ दꣳसाꣳस्य् अश्विनाव् अवोचम् अस्य पतिः स्याꣳ सुगवः सुवीरः । उत पश्यन्न् अश्नुवन् दीर्घम् आयुर् अस्तम् इवेज् जरिमाणꣳ जगम्याम्
I have declared your wondrous deeds, O Ashvins; may I be lord of good cattle, of good heroes; and, seeing and eating, may I attain long life, may I reach old age as one goes to the sunset.
मध्वः सोमस्याश्विना मदाय प्रत्नो होता विवासते वाम् । बर्हिष्मती रातिर्विश्रिता गीरिषा यातं नासत्योप वाजैः
O Aśvins, the ancient priest calls you for the exhilaration of sweet Soma; the offering, rich in sacred grass, renowned, is prepared—come, O Nāsatyas, with strength.
यो वामश्विना मनसो जवीयान्रथः स्वश्वो विश आजिगाति । येन गच्छथः सुकृतो दुरोणं तेन नरा वर्तिरस्मभ्यं यातम्
That chariot of yours, O Aśvins, swifter than the mind, with good horses, comes to the people; with it, O men, you reach the home of the righteous—may you bring that path to us.
ऋषिं नरावंहसः पाञ्चजन्यमृबीसादत्रिं मुञ्चथो गणेन । मिनन्ता दस्योरशिवस्य माया अनुपूर्वं वृषणा चोदयन्ता
You, O men, released the sage Atri, son of Pañcajana, from distress, with your company; striking down the unkind powers of the hostile, you mighty ones, urged on in due order.
अश्वं न गूळ्हमश्विना दुरेवैरृषिं नरा वृषणा रेभमप्सु । सं तं रिणीथो विप्रुतं दंसोभिर्न वां जूर्यन्ति पूर्व्या कृतानि
Like a hidden horse, O Aśvins, far away, the sage Rebha, O mighty ones, was in the waters; you freed him, wise ones, with your powers—your ancient deeds never fail you.
सुषुप्वांसं न निरृतेरुपस्थे सूर्यं न दस्रा तमसि क्षियन्तम् । शुभे रुक्मं न दर्शतं निखातमुदूपथुरश्विना वन्दनाय
One who slept in the lap of destruction, like the sun dwelling in darkness, O wondrous ones, you revealed, like a shining gold ornament buried, O Aśvins, you brought him forth for praise.
तद्वां नरा शंस्यं पज्रियेण कक्षीवता नासत्या परिज्मन् । शफादश्वस्य वाजिनो जनाय शतं कुम्भाँ असिञ्चतं मधूनाम्
That praiseworthy deed of yours, O men, was performed for Kakṣīvat Pajriya, O Nāsatyas; from the hoof of your swift horse, you poured out a hundred jars of honey for the people.
युवं नरा स्तुवते कृष्णियाय विष्णाप्वं ददथुर्विश्वकाय । घोषायै चित्पितृषदे दुरोणे पतिं जूर्यन्त्या अश्विनावदत्तम्
You, O men, gave Viṣṇāpva to Kṛṣṇīya, who praised you, for all to see; for Ghoṣā, in her father's house, you gave a husband to the one growing old, O Aśvins.
युवं श्यावाय रुशतीमदत्तं महः क्षोणस्याश्विना कण्वाय । प्रवाच्यं तद्वृषणा कृतं वां यन्नार्षदाय श्रवो अध्यधत्तम्
You gave the shining one to Śyāva, O Aśvins, and to Kaṇva, greatness of the earth; this deed of yours, O mighty ones, is to be proclaimed—when you bestowed fame on Nārṣada.
पुरू वर्पांस्यश्विना दधाना नि पेदव ऊहथुराशुमश्वम् । सहस्रसां वाजिनमप्रतीतमहिहनं श्रवस्यं तरुत्रम्
Bearing many forms, O Aśvins, you carried Pedu, the swift horse, the thousandfold, unconquered, serpent-slaying, glorious steed.
एतानि वां श्रवस्या सुदानू ब्रह्माङ्गूषं सदनं रोदस्योः । यद्वां पज्रासो अश्विना हवन्ते यातमिषा च विदुषे च वाजम्
These glorious, generous deeds of yours, O Aśvins, are the song, the praise, the seat between heaven and earth; when the Pajras call you, come with sustenance and strength for the wise.
सूनोर्मानेनाश्विना गृणाना वाजं विप्राय भुरणा रदन्ता । अगस्त्ये ब्रह्मणा वावृधाना सं विश्पलां नासत्यारिणीतम्
With the measure of the sun, O Aśvins, you, delighting in praise, grant strength to the inspired; growing with Agastya's prayer, O Nāsatyas, you restored Viśpalā together.
कुह यान्ता सुष्टुतिं काव्यस्य दिवो नपाता वृषणा शयुत्रा । हिरण्यस्येव कलशं निखातमुदूपथुर्दशमे अश्विनाहन्
Where are you going, O mighty sons of heaven, worthy of praise, powerful, swift? Like a golden vessel hidden, you brought forth the tenth, O Aśvins, on that day.
युवं च्यवानमश्विना जरन्तं पुनर्युवानं चक्रथुः शचीभिः । युवो रथं दुहिता सूर्यस्य सह श्रिया नासत्यावृणीत
You, O Aśvins, made Cyavāna, grown old, young again with your powers; the daughter of the sun chose your chariot, O Nāsatyas, together with splendor.
