He upheld and spread out the earth; with his bolt he struck and released the waters. He slew the serpent, split the mountain, and, with his powers, the bountiful one destroyed the cloud.
He, ever youthful, trusting in his strength, moved forward, breaking the forts of the Dasyus. Knowing, with his bolt, the weapon of Indra, increase the Aryan might and glory, O Indra.
Thus have men spoken through these ages, bearing the famed name of the bountiful one. Approaching for the slaying of foes, the wielder of the bolt, the son, has established his name for renown.
See this, his abundant wealth; place your faith in Indra's might. He found the cows, he found the horses, he found the plants, the waters, and the forests.
Let us press Soma for the mighty bull, the strong one of abundant deeds, whose power is true; who, like a vigilant warrior on the road, comes dividing the wealth of the godless.
O Indra, you performed that heroic deed when, with your thunderbolt, you awakened the sleeping serpent; all your wives, the birds, and all the gods rejoiced in you.
When you slew Śuṣṇa, Pipru, Kuyava, and Vṛtra, Indra, and shattered the ninety-nine fortresses of Śambara—may Mitra, Varuṇa, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven not harm us for this.
Indra, your seat has been established in its place; sit down there, resounding like a roaring bull. Unharness the horses, let them rest; let the chariots, weary from the journey, be set aside at evening.
These men, with eager minds, have come quickly to seek Indra; the gods, turning away the wrath of the Dāsa, have brought us, the Arya, to prosperity.
By his own power he brings forth the shining one; by his own power he brings forth the foam upon the water. Bathed in milk, like a bride of the Kuyava, slain, may you be at the slope of the udder.
He joined the navel of the two upper worlds; the hero moves forward with the earlier ones. The swift, thunderbolt-wielding, wives of heroes pour forth milk, carrying water in vessels.
Whenever your guidance, O Indra, is seen from afar, the knowing one goes straight to the home of the Dasyu. So, O generous one, protect us with your praise; do not, like a miser, withhold your gifts from us.
So, Indra, whether in the sun or in the waters, grant us sinless prosperity and life. Do not withhold your arm from us; your faith is set upon your great power.
Thus I think: faith has been placed in us; O mighty one, urge yourself on for great wealth. Do not, O much-invoked Indra, leave us hungry in your seat, nor deprive us of sustenance.
Do not strike us down, Indra, do not drive us away; do not take away our beloved food. Do not break our eggs, O generous one, nor shatter our vessels, O you born together with us.
Come near, they say, for the Soma; this one is pressed—drink of it for your delight. Fill your belly widely; like a father, hear us as we call upon you.
The moon is within the waters, the eagle runs in the sky; your golden-wheeled tracks, O gods, are not found—lightnings are your sign, and I know the two worlds of him.

When will we hold the support of truth? When the vision of Varuṇa? When shall we cross the path of Aryaman's greatness, O Dūḍhya? I know the two worlds of him.
I am the one who, in former times, spoke at the ritual, whatever things there were. The wealthy do not hinder me, like a wolf does not thirst for a deer; my possession is these two worlds.
They burn me all around, like rival wives with their sides. Like a mouse gnaws at a penis, they bite at me, O hundred-powered one; my possession is these two worlds.
Those seven rays are here, and there my navel is stretched. Trita knows this attainment; he cries out for kinship. My possession is these two worlds.
Those five oxen stand in the midst of the great heaven. There, indeed, is what must be spoken among the gods; they have settled together. My possession is these two worlds.
Those with beautiful wings sit in the middle enclosure of heaven. They block the paths, like a wolf crossing the mighty waters. My possession is these two worlds.
