He, to be manifested, grows lovely among them, upright among the crooked, glorious in their midst. Both of Tvaṣṭṛ’s wives trembled at his birth; facing him, they welcome the lion.
Both good ones welcome him, I think; cows and heifers have come to him together. He became the lord of powers, whom they approach with offerings from the right.

He makes a path for the stream across the desert, striking the earth with shining waves; he holds all treasures in his belly, moving within the waters and among the sources.
So, Agni, growing with our offerings, radiant and pure, shine forth for fame; may Mitra, Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven not harm us.
He, ancient and newly born, by his might, immediately upholds all wisdom; the waters, Mitra, and Dhiṣaṇā support Agni, the giver of wealth.
With the ancient invocation of wisdom, he generated these offspring of men; with the vision of Vivasvat, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
They worship him, the foremost in sacrifice, called by the people, straight-moving; the son of strength, the bearer, the generous, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
Mātariśvan, rich in gifts, found the path for his offspring; the guardian of the peoples, the creator of heaven and earth, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
Night and dawn, with their colors, nurture the single child together; heaven and earth, the gold, shine within, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
He is the foundation of riches, the meeting place of treasures, the sign of sacrifice, the fulfiller of thought; guarding immortality, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
Now and before, the dwelling of riches, of the born and the being born, of the earth; the guardian of the existing and the abundant, the gods uphold Agni, the giver of wealth.
Giver of wealth, bestower of riches to the mighty, giver of wealth, let them praise you; giver of wealth, grant us heroic food, giver of wealth, bestow long life.
So, Agni, growing with our offerings, radiant and pure, shine forth for fame; may Mitra, Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven not harm us.
Drive away our burning sin, Agni, burn away our poverty; drive away our burning sin.
With good fields, good paths, and wealth, we worship; drive away our burning sin.

When you, the most generous, grant them, and our own lords; drive away our burning sin.
When, Agni, your lords are born, may we be born with you; drive away our burning sin.
When the rays of the mighty Agni go forth in all directions, may he drive away our burning sin.
For you, Agni, are all-faced, you encompass everything; drive away our burning sin.
With your all-encompassing face, carry us across our haters as in a boat; drive away our burning sin.
May he carry us to well-being, as in a boat across a river; drive away our burning sin.
May we be in the good favor of Vaiśvānara, the king, the glory of all beings; born here, he beholds all this world, Vaiśvānara strives with the sun.
He is placed in the sky, Agni is placed on earth, he has entered all plants; Vaiśvānara, Agni, placed by force—may he guard us from harm by day and by night.
Vaiśvānara, may that truth of yours be for us; may generous ones join their wealth to us; may Mitra, Varuṇa, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven not harm us.
To Jātavedas we will press Soma, who, knowing, burns away the hostile; may he carry us across all hardships like a boat over the river, O Agni, removing our misfortunes.
He who is the bull among the mighty, dwelling together with the strong, sovereign of the great heaven and earth; may Indra, accompanied by the Maruts, be invoked by us in battles, steadfast in truth.
Whose might, unconquered, is like the course of the sun, in every battle the slayer of Vṛtra; most vigorous with his own companions—may Indra, accompanied by the Maruts, be our aid.
