यस्मै पुत्रासो अदितेः प्र जीवसे मर्त्याय । ज्योतिर्यच्छन्त्यजस्रम्
To whom the sons of Aditi grant enduring light for living, for that mortal, evermore.
वात आ वातु भेषजं शम्भु मयोभु नो हृदे । प्र ण आयूंषि तारिषत्
May the wind bring healing, pleasant and delightful to our heart; may it carry our lives forward.
उत वात पितासि न उत भ्रातोत नः सखा । स नो जीवातवे कृधि
O wind, you are our father, you are our brother, you are our friend; make us fit for life.
यददो वात ते गृहेऽमृतस्य निधिर्हितः । ततो नो देहि जीवसे
Whatever treasure of immortality is placed in your house, O wind, from that give us for living.
प्राग्नये वाचमीरय वृषभाय क्षितीनाम् । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः
I send forth speech to Agni, the bull among peoples; may he lead us past hatred.
यः परस्याः परावतस्तिरो धन्वातिरोचते । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः
He who shines beyond the farthest distance, beyond the desert, may he lead us past hatred.
यो रक्षांसि निजूर्वति वृषा शुक्रेण शोचिषा । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः
He who, with pure brilliance, subdues the demons, the bull, may he lead us past hatred.
यो विश्वाभि विपश्यति भुवना सं च पश्यति । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः
He who sees all things with insight, and beholds all beings together, may he lead us past hatred.
यो अस्य पारे रजसः शुक्रो अग्निरजायत । स नः पर्षदति द्विषः
He who, bright, was born on the far side of the realm, Agni, may he lead us past hatred.
प्र नूनं जातवेदसमश्वं हिनोत वाजिनम् । इदं नो बर्हिरासदे
Now, offer the swift horse to Jātavedas; may this seat be for us.
अस्य प्र जातवेदसो विप्रवीरस्य मीळ्हुषः । महीमियर्मि सुष्टुतिम्
To this Jātavedas, the wise and generous one, I send forth a great praise.
या रुचो जातवेदसो देवत्रा हव्यवाहनीः । ताभिर्नो यज्ञमिन्वतु
Those lights of Jātavedas, which carry the offerings to the gods, may they inspire our sacrifice.
आयं गौः पृश्निरक्रमीदसदन्मातरं पुरः । पितरं च प्रयन्स्वः
This spotted cow has stepped forth, she settled before her mother, and approached her father, longing for the sun.
अन्तश्चरति रोचनास्य प्राणादपानती । व्यख्यन्महिषो दिवम्
She moves within the shining realms, inhaling and exhaling; the great bull has declared the sky.
त्रिंशद्धाम वि राजति वाक्पतंगाय धीयते । प्रति वस्तोरह द्युभिः
She shines forth in thirty places; speech is set for the swift one; at the coming of dawn, with the days.
ऋतं च सत्यं चाभीद्धात्तपसोऽध्यजायत । ततो रात्र्यजायत ततः समुद्रो अर्णवः
Order and truth were born from heat; from that was born night, and from night the flowing ocean.
समुद्रादर्णवादधि संवत्सरो अजायत । अहोरात्राणि विदधद्विश्वस्य मिषतो वशी
From the ocean and the flowing sea, the year was born; dividing day and night, the lord of all that moves.
सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ धाता यथापूर्वमकल्पयत् । दिवं च पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षमथो स्वः
The Creator ordained the sun and the moon as before; he established the sky, the earth, the intermediate space, and the heavens.
संसमिद्युवसे वृषन्नग्ने विश्वान्यर्य आ । इळस्पदे समिध्यसे स नो वसून्या भर
O radiant Agni, praised at the gathering, you are kindled in every home; as you blaze on the altar, bring us all treasures.
सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् । देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे संजानाना उपासते
Move together, speak together, let your minds understand together; just as the gods, united in purpose, worshipped their share in the past.
समानो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी समानं मनः सह चित्तमेषाम् । समानं मन्त्रमभि मन्त्रये वः समानेन वो हविषा जुहोमि
Let your resolve be one, your assembly one, your mind one, so that your thoughts may be united; I offer your oblation with a common purpose and a shared invocation.
समानी व आकूतिः समाना हृदयानि वः । समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा वः सुसहासति
Let your intention be one, your hearts be one; may your mind be one, so that you may live together in harmony.
