Agni, let us speak to you; be favorable and kindly disposed to us. Grant us wealth, O lord of the people, for you are our giver.
Let Aryaman, Bhaga, and Brihaspati grant us; let the gods, let good speech, let the divine wealth bestow upon us.
We invoke Soma the king for help, Agni with hymns; the Ādityas, Vishnu, Sūrya, Brahman, and Brihaspati.
We call Indra and Vāyu, Brihaspati, with good invocation; so that all people may be united and kindly toward us.
Urge Aryaman, Brihaspati, and Indra to give; Vāta, Vishnu, Sarasvatī, Savitar, and the swift one.
You, Agni, with the fires, increase our prayer and sacrifice; you, for the divine assembly, urge the giving of wealth.
This worshipper has come to you, Agni, son of strength; there is nothing else to rely on. There is indeed a threefold, auspicious shelter; keep harm far away, make us free from danger.
Agni, you are born from the origin of your father; you cleanse all worlds like a companion. The seven, the wise ones, bring us thoughts, advancing like herdsmen with their own nature.
You choose, Agni, whether to spread above or below, O powerful one, O lord of the altar. Even the fallow fields become fertile; let not your weapon, your force, be angry with us.
When you go from the heights to the lowlands, O powerful one, you move separately like an advancing army. When your flame follows the wind, you spread your beard like a barber.
His lines are seen, many chariots follow one path. When you, Agni, cleanse your arms, you search the earth, bending and stretching.
Rise up, O powers, rise up, O flame, rise up, O Agni, with the strength of the one who rejoices; rise and do not sink, O growing one, may all the Vasus sit with you today.
This is the descent of the waters, the resting place of the ocean; make for yourself another path, O obedient one, go by that way.
On your journey and return, may grasses grow, bearing flowers; and lotus ponds—these are the homes of the ocean.
Even that Atri, who does not die, for the sake of purpose, like a horse for travel; when you renew the chariot with axles, you make it new again.
Even that horse, the swift one, the winds could not reach; like a firm knot that cannot be loosened, Atri, the youngest, traversed the realm.
O men, strive for the triple protection, shining ones, seek wisdom; then indeed, O men of heaven, our praise will not be in vain.
Clearly that gift of yours, O Ashvins, is of divine bounty and good thought; when you, O men, carry us across to the broad seat, to the common home.
You carried Bhujyu from the ocean, from across the expanse, marked out; you came swiftly, O Nasatyas, with your wings, accomplishing the rescue.
To you, with good thoughts, like Shamyū, all-knowing ones, may the greatest gifts come; grant us, O men, ever-flowing streams of nourishment.
This, indeed, O immortal Indra, is your strength which cannot be subdued; skill, all-life, for the wise creator.
This, among us, is the sage Ribhus, the strong one, for the generous; this one bears the upright, slender exhilaration, the Ribhus, not the act of exhilaration.
Eager, for the falcon, the doer, among their own, born in the lineage; let the sharp arrows shine forth.
Whom the splendid-winged one, the far-flying, the son of the falcon, brought; who is the path of the hundred-wheeled one.
Whom your falcon, beautiful, brought by foot, the ruddy, the measure of the exhilarating drink; by this, the vital force is extended, life is awakened, by this, kinship is awakened.
Thus, O Indra, with the Soma, even among the gods, you have sustained the great force; by will, the vital force is extended, O skillful one, by will, this Soma is pressed for us.
I dig up this herb, the most powerful plant, by which a rival wife is overcome, by which a husband is obtained.
O upward-leafed, fortunate one, chosen by the gods, mighty; drive away my rival wife, make my husband mine alone.
I am the uppermost, the superior, let me surpass the superior ones; and as for the rival wife who is beneath me, let her be among the inferior ones.
I do not take her name, nor does she find delight among these people; let us send the rival wife far away, to a distant place.
