O Soma, all-seeing and filled with nourishing power, flow towards us and guide us along the right path. Enter the vessels with your life-giving streams and vibrant energy, Soma, that you may be enjoyed by Indra. As your potent, exhilarating juice is pressed with sacred stones, pour forth, O Soma, and scatter all opposition before you. Purified by wisdom, Soma, the king, moves with clear intent, journeying to the farthest reaches of thought and traversing the vast midspace. Bestow upon us the wealth of a hundred cows, the nourishment of cattle, and an abundance of horses, so that fortune may smile upon us. Bring strength, youthful vigor, radiant form, and brilliance, Soma, well-pressed for the pleasure of the gods. Shine forth, O Soma, most radiant, your song resounding in the vessels, settling as an eagle settles peacefully in its nest. Flow for Indra, for Vayu, for Varuna, for the Maruts, and for Vishnu—pouring your essence into the sacred waters. Grant us, Soma, nourishment for our children on every side and purify for us abundant wealth. May all Somas—those pressed far away, those pressed nearby, those in the land of Saryanavati, those at Arjika sacrifices, among the dwellings, and among the five peoples—may all these Somas, O gods, bring us rain from the heavens and heroic strength, being well-pressed and pure. The tawny, desirable Soma, praised by Jamadagni, is purified as it flows over the shining hide of the cow. Bright and youthful, they stream forth like seven rivers, cleansing themselves in the waters. You, Soma, are set by the priests in the pressings for the gods; flow forth with your splendor. Bring us skill, Soma—joy-bringing, fiery, and intoxicating—may those much-invoked powers protect us. Bring us the delightful, most excellent, wise, and thoughtful one; may they guard us always. Bestow upon us wise and well-counseled wealth, Soma, with your strength; may those much-invoked powers watch over us. Purify yourself, O Soma, for all peoples and all sacred rites; you are a friend, worthy of praise among friends. With your two abodes, O Purifying Soma, you rule over all things, standing ever forward, ever present. Around all your abodes, O Soma, you are everywhere, O wise purifier, moving with the seasons. Flow forth, generating streams and bringing every treasure, coming as a friend to friends, ever ready to help. Your brilliant rays stretch to the very edge of heaven, and with your abodes, you fill the sacred filter. For you, Soma, the seven rivers rush forth in obedience, and the cows run eagerly to you. Go forth in your stream, Soma, pressed for Indra, exhilarating and undiminished in fame. The inspired thoughts have sung to you together; the seven sisters, daughters of Vivasvat, urge you on your way. The skilled ones cleanse you in the vessel, even to the ancient one, as you roar within the wood. O Sage, the swift outpourings of the Purifying One flow for you, like eager horses seeking glory. The inspired thoughts hasten to the honey-dripping vessel, into the unchanging waters. The drops have gone to the ocean, like cows returning to their stable; they have reached the womb of truth. For us, O Indu, the waters and rivers flow for great battle, when you clothe yourself in cows. Longing for your friendship, O Indu, we seek your aid and companionship. Flow, Soma, for the winning of cows, for greatness, for the vision of men; enter Indra’s belly. You are great, Soma, the eldest and mightiest among the strong. You win battles, O vigorous Indu, embracing victory. You surpass even the mighty in strength, are braver than the brave, and more generous than the most bountiful. You, Soma, are the hero, the protector of offspring and bodies; we choose you for friendship and alliance. O Agni, purify our lives, bring us strength and nourishment, and drive away all evil spirits. Agni, the sage, the purified priest of the five peoples, the greatly praised—him we invoke. Agni, purify yourself with wisdom for us; grant us brilliance, heroic strength, wealth, and nourishment. The purified one overcomes all obstacles and advances to glorious praise, like a hero of all-seeing vision. Thus, with Soma and Agni, the sacred story of strength, purity, and abundance flows on, blessing all peoples and all worlds.
