Soma, the divine and delightful one, flows forth with celestial power, passing through the sacred filter. As the bull, he seeks the company of Indra, pouring out his mighty, glorious stream and entering his eternal abode. The pressed, inspired Soma releases streams that milk the beloved honey, and, wise as he is, he pervades the waters. The great rivers follow after him, the mighty one, especially when he is adorned with cows. The ocean itself cleanses in the waters, a pillar and support of the sky, while Soma—purified in the filter—eagerly surges forward. The mighty, tawny Soma roars, vast and unseen like Mitra, shining together with the sun. His power cleanses the songs, and, though unseen, he adorns himself for exhilaration. For this exhilaration, the swift creator of worlds is sought; his praises are great and resounding. For Indra, Soma pours out a honeyed draught for us, his stream like a rain-filled cloud. He is rich in cows, men, horses, and strength, the ancient soul of sacrifice. This immortal god moves like a leafy branch, entering the vessels. Clarified, he runs beyond narrow places, self-purifying and impossible to deceive. With the wise and those who live by truth, the tawny Soma is cleansed for strength. He seeks all treasures, the hero, as if with his companions. Riding in his chariot, the purifier brings delight and reveals his voice in song. Praised by the inspired, he flows through the waters, bestowing treasures upon the worshipper. Soma rushes across the sky, beyond all spaces, his stream roaring and purifying. He spreads through the sky, untouched and unbound, performing his own rites. Born from ancient times, pressed for the gods, the tawny one flows through the filter. With manifold vows, newly born, he generates lights, purified by his own stream. O Soma, ever victorious and purifier, grant us great renown and share your bounty with us. Ever shining and radiant, grant us all good fortunes and make us share in your bounty. Ever wise and skillful, drive away our foes and let us partake in your bounty. Purifiers cleanse the Soma for Indra to drink, so that we may share in your bounty. As you grant to the Sun, grant to us by your power and aids, and allow us always to behold the Sun, sharing in your bounty. Soma, flow forth with your own weapons, bringing wealth that is doubly strong, and let us share in your bounty. Flow unconquered, bringing wealth that prevails in battles, and make us share in your bounty. Strengthened by sacrifices in the ritual, you, the purifier, share your bounty with us. Bring us wondrous, all-sustaining wealth, O Indu, bright as the Ashvins, and let us share in your bounty. Kindled, the lord of all shines forth, the purifier radiates, and the roaring bull brings delight. Protector of the body, sharpening his horns, the purifier flows onward, shining in the midspace. His desirable, purifying stream shines as wealth, radiant with light, bearing the essence of honey and its flowing streams. With power, O golden one, you spread the sacred grass to the east, advancing among the gods as a bright, purifying deity. The wide, lofty doors—divine and golden—swing open, praised by the purifier and set apart. With skill in creation, vast and great, the purifier bellows forth, appearing like Night and Dawn. Both divine Hotṛs, seers among gods, are called upon, as well as purifying Indra, the mighty bull. May Bhārati, Sarasvatī, and Ilā, the great goddesses, come adorned to our sacrifice. Tvaṣṭṛ, the ancient protector of cattle and leader, is invoked, along with Indu, Indra, the bull, the golden one, the purifier, and lord of creatures. O purifier, unite with the tree-lord, with honey and stream, the thousand-branched, green, shining, golden one. Thus, Soma flows, radiant and purifying, bestowing strength, wealth, and blessings, and ever inviting the gods and goddesses to partake in his sacred bounty.
