Indra, mighty lord, we call to you—come now and seize our brilliant, abundant prize with your powerful right hand. For we know you, O Indra, as one whose actions are strong and whose generosity is vast; your support is truly great. None among the gods or mortals can restrain you, heroic one, when you wish to give, just as no one can hold back a fierce bull in its strength. And so, we offer our praise to you, Indra, lord of wealth and sovereign of light—may our share of your bounty never diminish. Let the singer raise his voice, let the poet draw near with his song, for we are bound to your favor. With your right hand, bring us your gifts; with your left, touch us with blessing—do not withhold your wealth from us, Indra. Step forward with boldness, O mighty one among men, for you know the desire of those who praise you. Whatever strength you possess in winning prizes alongside the wise, grant that to us, and may we share in your victory. May your youthful powers, O giver of strength, come swiftly to us, shining in every way, so that wealth may quickly be gathered by our means. O slayer of Vṛtra, run forth from afar and from near to the offering of the sweet drink. Come to the strong, pressed, exhilarating Somas, and drink as your heart desires. Rejoice in the offering, O Indra, for your delight and for the favor of your worshippers—may you bring happiness to our hearts. Come to us, unconquered one, invoked by our hymns, and approach the shining expanse of heaven. This Soma, pressed with stones and adorned with cows for delight, is offered to you, Indra. Hear my good invocation; for our sake, drink the pressed Soma, rich in cows, and be fully satisfied. The Soma that is poured for you in the cups and mixing bowls—drink of it, for you are its master. That Soma, shining in the bowls like the moon reflected in water—drink of it, for it is yours. That very Soma which the eagle brought to you, crossing untouched spaces—drink of it, for you are the lord of it. We choose for ourselves the great help of the gods, that the mighty ones may aid us. May Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, and all the wise and strong ones ever be our allies. Carry us safely across many dangers, as boats carry us over the waters, you who are the charioteers of truth. Grant us favor, Aryaman, and favor, Varuṇa, worthy of praise; for it is your favor we seek. O wise and righteous Ādityas, you are the lords of favor, and no guilt of ours comes before you. We, your generous ones, dwelling and traveling on the path, call upon you, O gods, for strength. Let your kinship rest upon us, O Indra, Viṣṇu, and all your kindred ones, and you, Maruts and Ashvins. Let us bear brotherhood, O generous gods, and mutual support, carrying it as a mother carries her child in her womb. For you are truly generous, foremost in Indra's favor, ever advancing; thus, I declare this praise. Agni, I praise you as the most beloved guest, dear as a friend, known at the altar like a splendid chariot. Like a wise poet, conscious and thoughtful, you were established among mortals by the gods in their wisdom. Youngest one, protect your worshippers—listen to our songs and guard both our offspring and ourselves. By what praise, O Agni, descendant of Angiras, may we come close to your favor? What words of homage shall we speak, and by whose thought may we serve, with the strength and glory of sacrifice? For you create for us all prosperous dwellings, Agni, bestower of wealth, through your songs. Whose thoughts do you now inspire, O lord? Whom do your songs bring cattle and blessings? The wise and strong one, leader in battles, is adorned by his people and honored in their homes. He dwells with good protectors, safe from harm, and harms none; Agni, the strong, prospers. Ashvins, divine twins, come at my call—approach for the drinking of the honeyed Soma. Hear my praise, Ashvins, hear my summons, for the sweet Soma is ready. Even this black one calls to you, Ashvins, bestowers of strength, for the honeyed Soma. Hear the call of the singer, O divine ones, of the one who praises you—come for the drinking of the honeyed Soma.
