The path of the Ādityas, the radiant deities, is ever straight and true. Their ways are unerring, well-established, and gentle to walk, offering guidance without confusion. As seekers of shelter and peace, we turn to Savitṛ, Bhaga, Varuṇa, Mitra, and Aryaman, praying that they grant us a refuge—broad, secure, and comforting. We invite the divine Mother Aditi, beloved and revered, to come to us with all the gods, bringing undiminished protection. Let her arrive with the wise ones, offering us good shelter and loving care. For the sons of Aditi, the Ādityas, are those who know how to dispel hatred; they expand even distress, turning it aside, and remove guilt from our hearts. May Aditi, indivisible and ever-growing, guard us both by day and night, granting abundance and shielding us from harm. Let her thoughts come to us as help during the day, bringing peace and joy, and driving away all obstacles from our path. May the divine physicians, the Aśvins, bestow well-being upon us, warding off evil and removing impediments. We invoke Agni, along with the other sacred fires, to bring us peace. May Sūrya protect us from harm, and may the wind sweep away evil and obstacles. Let all disease, all hindrance, and all ill intent be driven away; O Ādityas, protect us from distress. Shield us from arrows and hostility, O all-knowing Ādityas, and remove hatred from our midst. The shelter you grant, O Ādityas, is liberating—even if we have erred, you, generous ones, release us. If any mortal, wishing us harm, acts as a demon, may his own actions bring harm only to himself. May those hostile, evil-minded ones who approach us with ill intent partake of their own sin. Be ever watchful, O gods; you know every mortal in your hearts, both the hostile and the friendly, O Vasus. We choose the shelter of the mountains and the waters, and we call upon Heaven and Earth to remove from us all that is harmful. With your auspicious protection, O Vasus, carry us in your ship and deliver us from every misfortune. For our offspring, O mighty Ādityas, grant us long life for living. Our sacrifice and praise are offered to you, Ādityas; be gracious, for in you alone do we find kinship and belonging. We invoke the great-protecting god among the Maruts, the savior, the Ashvins, and Mitra and Varuna for our well-being. O Mitra, Aryaman, and Varuna, free from enmity and worthy of praise, may the Maruts with their triple protection bring us shelter. Though we are mortals bound by death, O Ādityas, grant us, your descendants, a span of life to live through. With devotion, the gods have established that radiant one, the destroyer of want, among themselves, offering oblations to him. We worship Agni, the bestower of abundant gifts, the sage of brilliant flame, the guiding light for the splendor of this wise and delightful sacrifice, honoring the ancient rite. We have chosen you, O Agni, as the most fit for sacrifice—the immortal priest among the gods, of good counsel for this offering. Agni, offspring of strength, fortunate, splendid of light and supreme brilliance, may you obtain for us the favor of Mitra, Varuna, and the heavenly waters. Whoever serves Agni with kindling, offerings, or knowledge—whichever mortal worships with reverence and proper rites—finds delight brought by swift horses, gains glorious fame, and is shielded from harm by gods or mortals. May we, with our own fires, be united with Agni, son of strength and lord of nourishment; may you be our unfailing hero. Agni is praised like a guest, like a friend, like a chariot to be known; through him, safety is assured, the good are established, and riches are bestowed. The mortal who, with devotion and proper rites, is fortunate and praiseworthy—may he be victorious through his thoughts. For the one whom you, exalted Agni, stand beside at the sacrifice, O slayer of foes, prosperity follows; with horses, wise men, and heroes, he wins what is done. In whose house Agni, the all-desirable, places our praise—may he receive the offerings and drive away the hostile. To the inspired one who praises you, O mighty Agni, most generous in gifts—grant him, O treasure, a place above mortals, and make known the words of the wise. Whoever, with offerings or reverence, calls upon Agni, the swift and skillful, with words—the radiant winner of strength—finds favor. He who, with kindling, serves Aditi with the rites, crosses over all people with splendor, as one crosses water with a boat. O Agni, bring us that glory by which you overcome any hostile one in the assembly, the wrath of the people, O destroyer. By you, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, the Aśvins, and Bhaga are beheld; by your power, O Indra, may we also perform acts of worship that lead to strength. Those who are truly wise, O Agni, have established you, the one who sees among men—the inspired ones, possessing good counsel. They, O fortunate one, have made the altar and offering for you to taste in heaven; they have won great wealth and prizes, those who have placed their desire in you. May Agni, when invoked, be auspicious for us; may the gift, the sacrifice, and the praises all be auspicious, O fortunate one.
