Entering the inner chambers, he said this to Kausalyā: 'Receive this pāyasa, for the sake of obtaining a son for yourself.'
Then the king gave half of the pāyasa to Kausalyā, and from that half, he gave a further half to Sumitrā.
For the sake of obtaining a son, he gave the remaining half to Kaikeyī, and again gave the last portion of the pāyasa, like nectar, to Sumitrā.
Reflecting, the wise king again gave Sumitrā a share; thus the king gave the pāyasa separately to his wives.
Having received the pāyasa in this way, all the king's noble wives felt honored, their hearts filled with great joy.
Then those noble wives of the king, having partaken separately of the excellent pāyasa, soon conceived, their brilliance equal to fire and the sun.
Then the king, seeing his wives pregnant, regained his peace of mind and was as delighted as Indra in heaven, honored by hosts of gods, perfected beings, and sages.

When Viṣṇu had entered the state of being a son to that great-souled king, the self-born Lord addressed all the gods thus:
'For the truthful and heroic king, who seeks the welfare of us all, create powerful helpers for Viṣṇu, able to assume any form.'

And in the bodies of Kinnari women, as well as in those of Vanara females, you shall create sons in the form of monkeys, equal in might.

Each was born exactly resembling that deity, each one separately; among the Golangulas, some were born with slightly superior prowess.
