तिर्यग्योनिगतानां च शतानि सरयूजलम् । सम्प्राप्य त्रिदिवं जग्मुः प्रभासुरवपूंषि च । दिव्या दिव्येन वपुषा देवा दीप्ता इवाभवन् ।। ७.११०.
Hundreds of those born in animal wombs, upon reaching the waters of the Sarayu, went to heaven, their forms shining; the gods became radiant with divine bodies.
गत्वा तु सरयूतोयं स्थावराणि चराणि च । प्राप्य तत्तोयविक्लेदं देवलोकमुपागमन् ।। ७.११०.
Having entered the waters of the Sarayu, both immobile and mobile beings, after being touched by that water, attained the world of the gods.
तस्मिन्नपि समापन्ना ऋक्षवानरराक्षसाः । ते ऽपि स्वर्गं प्रविविशुर्देहान्निक्षिप्य चाम्भसि ।। ७.११०.
There, the bears, monkeys, and rākṣasas also entered; they too attained heaven, having laid aside their bodies in the water.
ततः समागतान्सर्वान्स्थाप्य लोकगुरुर्दिवि । जगाम त्रिदशैः सार्धं सदा हृष्टैर्दिवं महत् ।। ७.११०.
Then the teacher of the worlds, having established all those who had assembled in heaven, went to the great heaven together with the delighted gods.
इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीये आदिकाव्ये श्रीमदुत्तरकाण्डे दशाधिकशततमः सर्गः
Thus ends the one hundred and tenth sarga in the holy Uttarakāṇḍa of the venerable Rāmāyaṇa, the first poem composed by the sage Vālmīki.
एतावदेतदाख्यानं सोत्तरं ब्रह्मपूजितम् । रामायणमिति ख्यातं मुख्यं वाल्मीकीना कृतम् ।। ७.१११.
Thus ends this narrative, honored by Brahmā, known as the Rāmāyaṇa, the principal work composed by Vālmīki.
ततः प्रतिष्ठितो विष्णुः स्वर्गलोके यथा पुरम् । येन व्याप्तमिदं सर्वं त्रैलोक्यं सचराचरम् ।। ७.१११.
Then Viṣṇu returned to the heavenly realm as before, he by whom this entire universe of moving and unmoving beings is pervaded.
ततो देवाः सगन्धर्वाः सिद्धाश्च परमर्षयः । नित्यं शृण्वन्ति सन्तुष्टाः दिव्यं रामायणं दिवि ।। ७.१११.
Thereafter, the gods along with the Gandharvas, Siddhas, and supreme seers, always listen with delight to the divine Rāmāyaṇa in heaven.
इदमाख्यानमायुष्यं सौभाग्यं पापनाशनम् । रामायणं वेदसमं श्राद्धेषु श्रावयेद्बुधः ।। ७.१११.
This narrative brings long life, good fortune, and destroys sin; the wise should have the Rāmāyaṇa, equal to the Veda, recited at ancestral rites.
अपुत्रो लभते पुत्रमधनो लभते धनम् । सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्येत पदमप्यस्य यः पठेत् ।। ७.१११.
A childless man obtains a son, a poor man obtains wealth; whoever recites even a single verse of this is freed from all sins.
पापान्यपि च यः कुर्यादहन्यहनि मानवः । पठत्येकमपि श्लोकं पापात्स परिमुच्यते ।। ७.१११.
Even if a person commits sins daily, by reciting even a single verse, he is released from those sins.
वाचकाय च दातव्यं वस्त्रं धेनुं हिरण्यकम् । वाचके परितुष्टे तु तुष्टाः स्युः सर्वदेवताः ।। ७.१११.
One should give cloth, a cow, and gold to the reciter; when the reciter is satisfied, all the gods are pleased.
एतदाख्यानमायुष्यं पठन्रामायणं नरः । सपुत्रपौत्रो लोके ऽस्मिन्प्रेत्य चेह महीयते ।। ७.१११.
A man who recites this life-giving narrative, the Rāmāyaṇa, is honored in this world with sons and grandsons, and after death as well.
अयोध्या ऽपि पुरी रम्या शून्या वर्षगणान्बहून् । ऋषभं प्राप्य राजानं निवासमुपयास्यति ।। ७.१११.
Even the beautiful city of Ayodhyā, after many years of emptiness, will regain habitation when it obtains a king named Ṛṣabha.
एतदाख्यानमायुष्यं सभविष्यं सहोत्तरम् । कृतवान्प्रचेतसः पुत्रस्तद्ब्रह्माप्यन्वमन्यत ।। ७.१११.
This life-giving narrative, along with its future and supplementary parts, was composed by the son of Pracetas, and Brahmā also approved it.
अश्वमेधसहस्रस्य वाजपेयायुतस्य च । लभते श्रावणादेव सर्गस्यैकस्य मानवः ।। ७.१११.
By merely listening to a single section, a person gains the merit of a thousand horse sacrifices and ten thousand Vājapeya sacrifices.
प्रयागादीनि तीर्थानि गङ्गाद्याः सरितस्तथा । नैमिशादीन्यरण्यानि कुरुक्षेत्रादिकान्यपि । गतानि तेन लोके ऽस्मिन्येन रामायणं श्रुतम् ।। ७.१११.
For one who has heard the Rāmāyaṇa in this world, it is as if he has visited Prayāga and other sacred fords, the Gaṅgā and other rivers, Naimiṣa and other forests, and Kurukṣetra and similar places.
हेमभारं कुरुक्षेत्रे ग्रस्ते भानौ प्रयच्छति । यश्च रामायणं लोके शृणोति सदृशावुभौ ।। ७.१११.
He who gives a load of gold at Kurukṣetra when the sun is eclipsed, and he who listens to the Rāmāyaṇa in this world—both are equal.
सम्यक्छ्रद्धासमायुक्तः शृणुते राघवीं कथाम् । सर्वपापात्प्रमुच्येत विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति ।। ७.१११.
Whoever listens to the tale of Rāma with full faith and devotion is freed from all sins and attains the world of Viṣṇu.
आदिकाव्यमिदं त्वार्षं पुरा वाल्मीकिना कृतम् । यः शृणोति सदा भक्त्या स गच्छेद्वैष्णवीं तनुम् ।। ७.१११.
This is the original, ancient poem composed by Vālmīki; whoever always listens to it with devotion attains a divine form belonging to Viṣṇu.
पुत्रदाराश्च वर्धन्ते सम्पदः सन्ततिस्तथा । सत्यमेतद्विदित्वा तु श्रोतव्यं नियतात्मभिः ।। ७.१११.
Sons, wives, and wealth increase, as does one's lineage; knowing this to be true, those with self-control should listen.
गायत्र्याश्च स्वरूपं तद्रामायणमनुत्तमम् ।। ७.१११.
The true form of the Gāyatrī is this unsurpassed Rāmāyaṇa.

यः पठेच्छृणुयान्नित्यं चरितं राघवस्य ह । भक्त्या निष्कल्मषो भूत्वा दीर्घमायुरवाप्नुयात् ।। ७.१११.
Whoever reads or listens daily to the story of Rāghava, with devotion and a pure heart, attains long life.
चिन्तयेद्राघवं नित्यं श्रेयः प्राप्तुं य इच्छति । श्रावयेदिदमाख्यानं ब्राह्मणेभ्यो दिने दिने ।। ७.१११.
Whoever wishes to attain the highest good should always meditate on Rāghava and recite this narrative to the brāhmaṇas every day.
यस्त्विदं रघुनाथस्य चरितं सकलं पठेत् । सो ऽसुक्षये विष्णुलोकं गच्छत्येव न संशयः ।। ७.१११.
Whoever reads this entire story of Raghunātha certainly goes to the world of Viṣṇu without fail.
पिता पितामहस्तस्य तथैव प्रपितामहः । तत्पिता तत्पिता चैव विष्णुं यान्ति न संशयः ।। ७.१११.
His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as their fathers, all surely reach Viṣṇu.
चतुर्वर्गप्रदं नित्यं चरितं राघवस्य तु । तस्माद्यत्नवता नित्यं श्रोतव्यं परमं सदा ।। ७.१११.
The story of Rāghava always bestows the four aims of life; therefore, it should always be listened to with great effort as the highest.
शृण्वन्रामायणं भक्त्या यः पादं पदमेव वा । स याति ब्रह्मणः स्थानं ब्रह्मणा पूज्यते सदा ।। ७.१११.
Whoever listens with devotion to even a verse or a single foot of the Rāmāyaṇa attains the abode of Brahmā and is always honored by Brahmā.
एवमेतत्पुरावृत्तमाख्यानं भद्रमस्तु वः । प्रव्याहरत विस्रब्धं बलं विष्णोः प्रवर्धताम् ।। ७.१११.
Thus this ancient narrative has been told; may it bring you welfare. Proclaim it confidently—may the power of Viṣṇu increase.
