The sky was filled with divine radiance, shining brilliantly, illuminated by its own light, by the splendor of the gods, and by those who had performed virtuous deeds.

Auspicious winds blew, fragrant and bringing comfort; a great shower of flowers fell, released by the gods like a mighty flood.
Amidst hundreds of trumpets and crowds of Gandharvas and Apsaras, Rama began to enter the waters of the Sarayu with his feet.

Then, the grandfather spoke from the sky: 'Come, O Vishnu, blessings to you! By destiny you have arrived, O Raghava.'
Enter your own form together with your brothers and the gods; O mighty-armed, enter whichever form you desire, that supreme, radiant, eternal Vaishnava form.
You are the course of the worlds, O god; none know you except for your vast-eyed Maya, your former and latter consort. You are inconceivable, the great wonder, imperishable, the essence of all.
Enter, O great radiance, whichever form you desire, by your own will.
Then, having heard the words of the Grandsire and reflecting deeply, the great-minded one, together with his brothers, entered the divine radiance of Vishnu with his body, O wide-eyed one, your former wife.
Thereafter, the gods, along with the Sādhyas, the hosts of Maruts, Indra, Agni, and their leaders, worshipped the god who was pervaded by Vishnu.
And the divine hosts of seers, the Gandharvas, the Apsarases, the Suparṇas, Nāgas, Yakṣas, as well as the Daityas, Dānavas, and Rākṣasas,
All were nourished, delighted, and their wishes completely fulfilled; those gods, freed from sin, exclaimed 'Well done! Well done!' in heaven.
Then the glorious Vishnu spoke to the Grandsire: 'O steadfast one, you should grant a world to these multitudes of people.'
'Indeed, all these illustrious ones have followed me out of affection; they are devoted, worthy of being cherished, and have abandoned themselves for my sake.'
Hearing Vishnu’s words, Brahmā, the lord and teacher of the worlds, said: 'These assembled ones will attain worlds called Sāntānika.'
'And whatever being, even among animals, gives up life thinking of you with devotion, that being will remain in that lineage.'
Endowed with all the qualities of Brahmā, they will dwell just below Brahmā’s world.
The monkeys and bears returned to their own species, from whom all these divine beings had been born, originating from the gods.
Among them, Sugrīva entered the solar orb, and in the sight of all the gods, they attained their own fathers.
When the lord of the gods had spoken thus, all, having reached the riverbank, entered the Sarayu, their eyes brimming with tears of joy.
Whoever among the living beings joyfully entered the water, abandoning their human bodies, ascended to a celestial chariot.
Hundreds of those born in animal wombs, upon reaching the waters of the Sarayu, went to heaven, their forms shining; the gods became radiant with divine bodies.
Having entered the waters of the Sarayu, both immobile and mobile beings, after being touched by that water, attained the world of the gods.
There, the bears, monkeys, and rākṣasas also entered; they too attained heaven, having laid aside their bodies in the water.
Then the teacher of the worlds, having established all those who had assembled in heaven, went to the great heaven together with the delighted gods.
Thus ends the one hundred and tenth sarga in the holy Uttarakāṇḍa of the venerable Rāmāyaṇa, the first poem composed by the sage Vālmīki.

Thus ends this narrative, honored by Brahmā, known as the Rāmāyaṇa, the principal work composed by Vālmīki.
Then Viṣṇu returned to the heavenly realm as before, he by whom this entire universe of moving and unmoving beings is pervaded.
Thereafter, the gods along with the Gandharvas, Siddhas, and supreme seers, always listen with delight to the divine Rāmāyaṇa in heaven.
This narrative brings long life, good fortune, and destroys sin; the wise should have the Rāmāyaṇa, equal to the Veda, recited at ancestral rites.
A childless man obtains a son, a poor man obtains wealth; whoever recites even a single verse of this is freed from all sins.
