'Make haste, Sugriva, O lord of monkeys, let us go'; thus addressed by Rama of immeasurable splendor,
The illustrious lord of the monkeys, surrounded by all, quickly entered the inner apartments, and seeing Tara, spoke to her:
'Beloved, you, together with the wives of the great monkeys, have been permitted by Raghava, out of desire to please Maithili.'
Hasten, let us go, taking the wives of the monkeys; we shall show all the wives of Dasharatha to Ayodhya.
Hearing Sugriva’s words, Tara, resplendent in every limb, summoned and addressed all the wives of the monkeys.
Permitted by Sugriva and all the monkeys to go, it is also my wish to see Ayodhya.
We shall witness Rama’s entry together with the citizens and countryfolk, and the splendor of all the women of Dasharatha.
All the wives of the monkeys, permitted by Tara, adorned themselves according to custom and performed circumambulation.
Desiring to see Sita, they quickly boarded that aerial chariot; seeing it rise with those women, Raghava gazed upon it.
Near Rishyamuka, Rama spoke again to Vaidehi: 'See, O Sita, that great mountain, like a raincloud with lightning.'
That excellent mountain Rishyamuka, adorned with golden ores, is where I met the monkey king Sugriva.
There, O Sita, I made an agreement with Sugriva for the slaying of Vali; that is the beautiful lotus-filled Pampa and the wondrous forest.
There, deprived of you, I grieved in deep sorrow; on its shore I met Shabari, the righteous ascetic.
Here, with arms as long as a yojana, Kabandha was slain by me; there, in Janasthana, O Sita, that glorious tree is seen.
And there, O lovely one, the mighty Jatayu, foremost and strongest of birds, was slain by Ravana for your sake.
There too Khara was slain, Dushana was struck down, and the mighty Trishiras was felled by my straight-flying arrows.
This, O beautiful one, is that hermitage of ours; the leaf-hut, so lovely to behold, is also seen.
Here, you were seized by the king of the Rakshasas, Ravana, by force; this is the delightful, clear, and auspicious Godavari river.
There is the hermitage of Agastya, surrounded by plantains; and here, in the hermitage, is the illustrious sage Sutikshna.
And here, O Vaidehi, is the great hermitage of Sharabhanga, where Indra, the thousand-eyed Purandara, once came.
In this region, I slew the mighty-bodied Viradha; see, slender-waisted lady, those ascetics appear before you.
Here is Atri, the head of his lineage, radiant like the sun and fire; here, Sītā, you saw the ascetic woman devoted to righteousness.
There, slender-waisted one, shines the lord of mountains, Citrakūṭa; here, the son of Kaikeyī came to appease me.
This is the lovely Yamunā, visible with its beautiful forests; and here, Maithilī, is the splendid hermitage of Bharadvāja.
And here is seen the sacred Gaṅgā, the threefold-flowing river, crowded with many flocks of birds and forests now in full bloom.
This is Śṛṅgaverapura, where Guha, my friend, resides; and here, Sītā, is seen the Sarayū, adorned along its banks.
Here, Sītā, is seen the royal city of my father; bow to Ayodhyā, O Vaidehī, as you return once more.
Then all the monkeys and the rākṣasas with Vibhīṣaṇa, leaping up again and again, joyfully beheld that city.
Then the monkeys and all the rākṣasas beheld that city, adorned with pale-white mansions, vast in extent, surrounded by elephants and horses, like the city of Indra, Amarāvatī.
