Thus addressed, Vibhishana replied to Kakutstha: O prince, I will bring you to that city within a single day.
Here is the auspicious aerial chariot called Pushpaka, shining like the sun, which my brother Ravana, powerful as he was, took from Kubera in battle.
Having conquered Kubera in battle, Ravana seized this excellent, wish-fulfilling, divine chariot; it has been preserved for your sake, O one of incomparable valor.
This chariot, resembling a cloud, stands here; by this vehicle you shall go to Ayodhya, free from all distress.
If I am worthy of your favor, if you remember my virtues, O wise one, then remain here for a while, if you have any friendship for me.
Honored with every desire fulfilled by your brother Lakshmana and your wife Vaidehi, then, O Rama, you may depart.
With my army and friends, accept for now the hospitality I have prepared for you, Rama, with all affection.
Out of affection, respect, and friendship, O Raghava, I entreat you; I am your servant, not one who commands you.
Thus addressed, Rama replied to Vibhishana in the hearing of all the Rakshasas and monkeys:
You have honored me, hero, with supreme assistance, with all your efforts and with the highest friendship.
O lord of the Rakshasas, I would certainly not fail to do your bidding; but my heart longs to see my brother Bharata.
He who came to Citrakūṭa to persuade me to return, whose request, though he bowed his head and pleaded, I did not fulfill—
Kausalyā, Sumitrā, and the illustrious Kaikeyī, as well as Guha, my friend, and the citizens together with the people of the land—
Grant me leave, gentle Vibhīṣaṇa, I have been honored; let there be no resentment, my friend, and I also seek your permission.
Present my aerial chariot quickly, O lord of the rākṣasas; how could my remaining here, my task accomplished, be proper?
Thus addressed by Rāma, Vibhīṣaṇa, king of the rākṣasas, swiftly summoned the aerial chariot, shining like the sun.
Then, adorned with golden ornaments, with a platform of cat's-eye gems, surrounded on all sides by silver-bright turrets—
Decorated with white banners and standards, resplendent with golden mansions adorned with lotus motifs—
Covered with networks of tinkling bells, with windows of pearls and gems, encircled on all sides by rows of bells, sweetly resounding—
That chariot, shaped like the peak of Mount Meru, crafted by Viśvakarman, adorned with great mansions shining with pearls and silver—
With floors inlaid with crystal designs, excellent seats of cat's-eye gems, furnished with costly coverings, and filled with great treasures—
That invincible, swift-moving chariot, now present, was announced to Rāma by Vibhīṣaṇa, who stood there.
Then Rāma, noble in spirit, together with Saumitri, beheld that Puṣpaka chariot, able to go wherever one wished, resembling a mountain, and was filled with wonder.

Hear now the one hundred and twenty-second sarga in the glorious Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Yuddhakāṇḍa.
When the Puṣpaka, adorned with flowers, was made ready and stood nearby, Vibhīṣaṇa spoke to Rāma.
With hands joined in reverence, humble, the lord of the rākṣasas, approached Rāghava in haste and said, 'What shall I do?'
To him, as Lakṣmaṇa listened, the radiant Rāghava, after reflection, spoke these words, filled with affection.
Let all the forest-dwellers, who have acted with effort, be honored with various jewels and riches, O Vibhīṣaṇa.
By you and these allies, O lord of the rākṣasas, Laṅkā was conquered by those joyful ones who, abandoning fear for their lives, did not turn back in battle.
These forest-dwellers have accomplished their tasks; reward their deeds with gifts of wealth and jewels, so their actions bear fruit.
