Heaven holds little value for me, nor does the honor from the foremost of gods, if I am deprived of you, Rama; I declare this truth to you.
Today, seeing you with your enemies defeated, my heart is fulfilled; having completed your forest exile, a supreme joy has arisen in me.
O best among speakers, the words spoken by Kaikeyi for your banishment remain fixed in my heart.
Now, seeing you safe and embracing you together with Lakshmana, I am freed from sorrow, like the sun emerging from mist.
I have been rescued by you, my son, a noble and virtuous child, just as the righteous Brahmin Kahola was saved by Ashtavakra.
Now I understand, gentle one, that the supreme man was appointed here by the lords of gods for the destruction of Ravana.

Fourteen years, gentle one, have been spent by you in the forest, dwelling with Sita, Lakshmana, and for my sake.
You have completed your forest exile, fulfilled your vow, and, having slain Ravana in battle, satisfied the gods.
The deed is accomplished, the fame is praiseworthy, and you have attained it, destroyer of enemies; may you, together with your brothers, enjoy a long life as ruler.
As the king spoke thus, Rama, with joined palms, said: Grant your favor, O knower of dharma, to Kaikeyi and to Bharata.
That curse, O lord, which you pronounced upon Kaikeyi, saying 'I renounce you and your son,' may it not touch Kaikeyi and her son.
The great king, saying 'So be it,' released Rama, who had joined his palms, embraced Lakshmana, and again spoke.

You will attain dharma, O knower of dharma, and great fame on earth; with Rama pleased, you will also gain heaven and supreme glory.
Serve Rāma, may good fortune be yours, O increaser of Sumitrā's joy; Rāma is always devoted to the welfare of all the world.
These three worlds, along with Indra, the perfected beings, and the supreme sages, bow to the great-souled one and honor the best of men.
This, indeed, is that unmanifest, imperishable, Brahman-sanctioned teaching—the heart of the gods, O gentle one, the supreme secret, which Rāma, the subduer of foes, possesses.

You must not, O Vaidehī, feel anger regarding this abandonment; Rāma did this for the sake of your purity, out of concern for your welfare.
This, my daughter, is exceedingly difficult—your conduct has set a standard; what you have done will surpass the fame of other women.
You are not, indeed, to be instructed regarding service to your husband; yet I must say this, for he is your highest divinity.
