हिन्तालैरर्जुनैर्नीपैः सप्तपर्णैः सुपुष्पितैः। तिलकैः कर्णिकारैश्च पाटलैश्च समन्ततः

There, the trees bore fragrant, exceedingly delightful flowers and fruits, which the monkeys wore as ornaments, like humans.
तच्चैत्ररथसंकाशं मनोज्ञं नन्दनोपमम्। वनं सर्वर्तुकं रम्यं शुशुभे षट्पदायुतम्
That forest, resembling Chaitraratha and as charming as Nandana, delightful in every season, shone, filled with bees.

Songs of bhringaraja birds, cries of kuraras, calls of koṇālaka, and the voices of sarasa birds echoed; then they entered those forests and groves.
हृष्टाः प्रमुदिता वीरा हरयः कामरूपिणः। तेषां प्रविशतां तत्र वानराणां महौजसाम्
The heroic monkeys, capable of assuming any form, entered there, joyful and delighted, their great energy apparent.
पुष्पसंसर्गसुरभिर्ववौ घ्राणसुखोऽनिलः। अन्ये तु हरिवीराणां यूथान्निष्क्रम्य यूथपाः। सुग्रीवेणाभ्यनुज्ञाता लङ्कां जग्मुः पताकिनीम्
A fragrant wind, pleasing to the nose, blew, scented by flowers; meanwhile, other monkey leaders, leaving their troops, permitted by Sugriva, went to Lanka, bearing banners.
वित्रासयन्तो विहगान् ग्लापयन्तो मृगद्विपान्। कम्पयन्तश्च तां लङ्कां नादैः स्वैर्नदतां वराः
Frightening the birds, exhausting the deer and elephants, shaking Lanka with their own roars, those mighty ones roared aloud.

तां समृद्धां समृद्धार्थां लक्ष्मीवाँल्लक्ष्मणाग्रजः। रावणस्य पुरीं रामो ददर्श सह वानरैः
That prosperous and wealthy city of Ravana, Lakshmana's elder brother Rama beheld, together with the vanaras.
तां महागृहसम्बाधां दृष्ट्वा लक्ष्मणपूर्वजः। नगरीं त्रिदिवप्रख्यां विस्मयं प्राप वीर्यवान्
Seeing that city crowded with great mansions, the heroic elder brother of Lakshmana was amazed, for it resembled the realm of the gods.
