Thus addressed by Trijata, the rakshasis, maddened by anger, all, now fearful, spoke these words to Trijata.
Tell us what kind of dream you saw last night; hearing the words spoken from the mouths of the rakshasis—
Trijata then spoke at the right time, relating her dream: 'I saw a divine palanquin made of ivory, flying through the sky.'
'Raghava himself, adorned with white garlands and garments, mounted it, yoked to a thousand horses, together with Lakshmana.'
'And in my dream today, I saw Sita, clothed in white garments, standing upon a white mountain surrounded by the ocean.'
Sita was united with Rama, just as radiance is with the sun; and again Raghava was seen as a great elephant with four tusks.
Mounted, shining like a mountain, he appeared together with Lakshmana; then, both of them, glowing with their own brilliance, shone like the sun.
Wearing white garlands and garments, they approached Janaki; then, at the summit of that mountain, before the elephant standing in the sky—
Janaki, embraced by her husband, rested upon his shoulder; then, leaping from her husband's lap, the lotus-eyed one—
Wiping the faces of the moon and sun with her hands, then, with those two princes, that excellent elephant stood together with wide-eyed Sita above Lanka.
Kakutstha himself arrived here with his wife Sita, in a chariot drawn by eight pale bulls.
Clad in white garlands and garments, he came together with Lakshmana; then elsewhere I saw Rama, of true valor.
The mighty one, together with his brother Lakshmana and Sita, ascended the divine Pushpaka chariot, shining like the sun.
Looking toward the northern direction, the best of men set forth; thus, in my dream, I saw Rama, whose valor is like Vishnu's.
With his brother Lakshmana and his wife Sita, I saw him; for Rama, of great splendor, cannot be conquered by gods or demons.
Nor by Rakshasas or any others, just as heaven cannot be attained by the wicked; and I saw Ravana, his head shaven and anointed with oil.
Wearing red garments, intoxicated, drinking, adorned with garlands of oleander flowers; today Ravana fell from the Pushpaka chariot to the ground.
Dragged by a woman, shaven-headed, clad in black garments, again I saw him; in a chariot drawn by donkeys, smeared with red garlands and ointments.
Drinking oil, laughing, dancing, his mind confused and senses disturbed; he quickly went southward, mounted on a donkey.
Again I saw Ravana, lord of the Rakshasas, fallen headfirst to the ground, terrified and bewildered by the donkey.
Entering a foul, unbearable, dreadful darkness, like hell, filled with filth and mud, there Ravana was quickly submerged.
Setting out toward the southern quarter, he entered a muddy pool; a woman in red garments bound ten-headed Ravana by the neck.
Kali, her body smeared with mud, dragged him toward the southern direction; thus there I saw the mighty Kumbhakarna.
All the sons of Ravana, their heads anointed with oil, are present; the ten-headed Ravana rides a boar, and Indrajit rides a dolphin.
Kumbhakarna rides a camel, heading south; and there I saw one alone, Vibhishana, with a white parasol.
He wore white garlands and garments, was smeared with white fragrance, and was adorned with the sounds of conch shells and drums, with dance and song.
Ascending a divine elephant, four-tusked and mountain-like, whose roar resembled thunderclouds, Vibhishana sat there.
He was accompanied by four ministers, arriving through the sky.
A great assembly was formed, resounding with songs and musical instruments, as the rakshasas in red garlands and red garments drank blood.
This beautiful city of Lanka, with horses, chariots, and elephants, was seen fallen into the ocean, its towers and gateways shattered.
