When Kaṃsa was seized by Kṛṣṇa, his brother Sunāma, enraged, approached, but was effortlessly struck down by Balabhadra.
Then, all the assembly was filled with cries of 'Alas!' upon seeing the lord of Mathurā slain by Kṛṣṇa with disdain.
Kṛṣṇa, accompanied by the mighty Baladeva, quickly grasped the feet of Vasudeva and Devakī.
Vasudeva and Devakī raised Janārdana, and, recalling the words spoken at his birth, both stood with hands joined in reverence.
Śrī Vasudeva said: 'Be gracious, O Lord, to us who bow before you. The boon once granted to the gods has now, by your favor, been fulfilled, O Keśava.'
'Because you, O Lord, have been worshipped and descended into my house for the destruction of the wicked, our lineage has been purified.'
'You are within all beings, abiding as the essence of all. All that exists, past and future, proceeds from you, the soul of all.'
'You are worshipped by sacrifices, O inconceivable one, composed of all the gods, O Acyuta. You are the sacrifice, the offerer, and the supreme lord of those who perform sacrifice.'
O Janardana, you are the origin of all creation.
This denial that arises in my mind toward you, and the affection for a son born of Devaki, is the highest delusion.
You are the creator of all beings, the one without beginning or end; yet whose tongue is this, O Lord, that will call you 'son' of a human?
O Lord of the universe, from whom all this world has arisen, by what reasoning, apart from your illusion, could you be born from us?
In whom all the world, moving and unmoving, is established—how could that one, who lies in the cosmic womb, be born as a human to you?
Therefore, be gracious, Supreme Lord, protector of the universe; by your partial descents you are not truly my son. O Lord, from you this entire world, from Brahma down to the trees, arises—why do you delude us, O Supreme Person?
Because my vision was deluded by your illusion, I considered you my son and feared Kamsa; but now, with that fear gone, you have been taken to Gokula by our family, grown up, and I no longer possess that sense of 'mine,' O Lord.
The actions of Rudra, the Maruts, the Ashvins, Indra, and the Sadhyas are not accomplished without your glance. You, O Vishnu, Lord of the worlds, have come to us for the sake of benefit; now that you are recognized, delusion has departed.

Then, Devaki and Vasudeva, having attained true understanding by witnessing the deeds of the Lord, saw Hari's illusion again; for the delusion of the Yadu clan, he spread his Vaishnava Maya.

He said: 'Mother! Father! After a long time of longing, I, who was afraid of Kamsa, have now seen you both, and Sankarshana as well.'
For those who neglect to honor their mother and father, the time spent in such neglect is a wasted portion of life, truly arising among the unrighteous.
For those who honor their teachers, gods, twice-born, and parents, O father, the birth of embodied beings becomes fruitful.
Therefore, father, all these transgressions committed should be forgiven, for, afflicted by Kamsa's power and might, we were rendered helpless.
Having spoken thus, he bowed to both, then duly honored the elders of the Yadu clan in order, and received the respect of the citizens.
Then Kamsa's wives, surrounding their slain husband on the ground, wept, and his mothers, overwhelmed by grief and sorrow, lamented.

Hari, though himself with tearless eyes, consoled them in many ways, for they were greatly afflicted by the loss of their kin.

Then Madhusudana released Ugrasena from bondage and installed him, whose son had been slain, in his own kingdom.
Ugrasena, having been anointed king by Krishna among the Yadus, performed the funeral rites for his son and for the others who had been slain there.
After the ritual for the Krita age was completed, Hari, seated upon the lion throne, spoke: 'Command, O Lord, whatever task is to be done, without hesitation.'
Because of Yayati’s curse, this dynasty, though worthy of sovereignty, is presently deprived of it; while I remain as a servant, let the gods issue their command—what need is there for hesitation?
Having spoken thus, he remembered Vayu, who immediately arrived; and the blessed Kesava addressed him: 'Carry out this task, O messenger.'
Go, O Vayu, and say to Indra: 'Enough of pride, O Vasava! Let Sudharma, your assembly hall, be given to Ugrasena.'
