ततः पुष्पमित्राः पटुमियत्रास्त्रयोदशैकलाश्च सप्तांध्राः
After them, eleven Pushpamitra kings, eleven Patumitra kings, and seven Andhras.
ततश्च कोसलायां तु नव चैव भूपतयो भविष्यंति
Then, in Kosala, there will be nine kings.
नैषधास्तु त एव
The Naishadhas will be the same ones.
मगधायां तु विश्वस्फटिकसंज्ञोऽन्यान्वर्णान्करिष्यति
In Magadha, one named Vishvasphatika will install others of different castes.
कैवर्त्तबटुपुलिंदब्राह्मणान्राज्ये स्थपयिष्यति
He will establish Kaivartas, Batus, Pulindas, and Brahmanas in the kingdom.
उत्साद्याखिलक्षत्रजातिं नव नागाः पद्मवत्यां नाम पुर्यामनुगंगाप्रयागं गयाद्गुप्तांश्च मागधा भोक्ष्यंति
Having expelled all the Kshatriya lineages, nine Nagas will rule in the city called Padmavati, along the Ganga, at Prayaga, and at Gaya, as the Magadhas.
कोशलांध्रपुंड्रताम्रलिप्तसमतटपुरीं च देवरक्षितो रक्षिता
Kosala, Andhra, Pundra, Tamralipta, Samatata, and the city will be protected by Devarakshita.
कलिंगमाहिषमहेंद्र भौमान् गुहा भोक्ष्यंति
Kalinga, Mahisha, Mahendra, and the lands of the Bhau-mas will be ruled by the Guhas.
नैषधनैमिषककालकोशकाञ्जनपदान्मणिधान्यकवंशा भोक्ष्यंति
The Naishadhas, Naimishas, Kakalas, Kosakas, and the people of Kanchana will be ruled by the Manidhanya lineage.
त्रैराज्यमुषिकजनपदान्कनकाह्वयचो भोक्ष्यति
The Trairajya and Ushika peoples will be ruled by the Kanakahvayas.
सौराष्ट्रावंत्यशूद्रा भीरान्नर्मदामरुभूविषयांश्च व्रात्यद्विजाभीरशूद्रा द्या भोक्ष्यंति
The Saurashtras, Avantis, Shudras, Abhiras, and the regions of Narmada and Marubhumi will be ruled by outcaste Brahmanas, Abhiras, and Shudras.
सिंधुतटदाविकोर्वीचंद्र भागाकाश्मीरविषयांश्च व्रात्यम्लेच्छशूद्रा दयो भोक्ष्यंति
The Sindhu shore, Davi, Urvi, Chandrabhaga, and the regions of Kashmir will be ruled by outcastes, Mlecchas, and Shudras.
एते च तुल्यकालास्सर्वे पृथिव्यां भूभुजो भविष्यंति
All these, at the same time, will be rulers on earth.
अल्पप्रसादा बृहत्कोपास्सार्वकालमनृताधर्मरुचयः स्त्रीबालगोवधकर्त्तारः परस्वादानरुचयोल्पसारास्तमिस्रप्राया उदितास्तमितप्राया अल्पायुषो महेच्छा ह्यल्पधर्मा लुब्धाश्च भविष्यन्ति
They will have little kindness, great anger, always delight in falsehood and unrighteousness, kill women, children, and cows, covet others' wealth, possess little essence, be mostly enveloped in darkness, rise and fall quickly, have short lives, great desires, little virtue, and be greedy.
तैश्च विमिश्रा जनपदास्तच्छीलानुवर्त्तिनो राजाश्रयशुष्मिणो म्लेच्छाचाराश्च विपर्ययेण वर्त्तमानाः प्रजाः क्षपयिष्यंति
Because of them, the peoples will be mixed, following their ways, seeking the shelter of kings, practicing the customs of Mlecchas, and, acting contrary to dharma, will destroy the people.
ततश्चानुदिनमल्पाल्पह्रासव्यवच्छेदाद्धर्मार्थयोर्जगतस्संक्षयो भविष्यति
Then, day by day, due to the continual decline and interruption of dharma and artha, the world will come to ruin.
ततश्चार्थ एवाभिजनहेतुः
Thus, wealth alone became the cause of noble lineage.
बलमेवाश्षोधर्महेतुः
Strength alone became the cause of righteousness.
अभिरुचिरेव दांपत्यसंबंधहेतुः
Mere mutual attraction became the cause of marital union.
स्त्रीत्वमेवोपभोगहेतुः
Womanhood alone became the cause of enjoyment.
अनृतमेव व्यवहारजयहेतुः
Falsehood alone became the cause of victory in disputes.
उन्नतांबुतैव पृथिवीहेतु
Elevation alone became the cause of land.
ब्रह्मसूत्रमेव विप्रत्वहेतुः
The Brahma-sutra alone became the cause of being a Brahmin.
रत्नधातुतैव श्लाघ्यताहेतुः
Possession of gems and metals alone became the cause of esteem.
लिंगधाराणमेवाश्रमहेतुः
Mere wearing of the marks became the cause of belonging to an āśrama.
अन्यायमेव वृत्तिहेतुः
Injustice alone became the cause of livelihood.
दौर्बल्यमेवावृत्तिहेतुः
Weakness alone became the cause of lack of livelihood.
अभयप्रगल्भोच्चारणमेव पांडित्यहेतुः
Uttering bold words without fear became the cause of scholarship.
अनाढ्यतैव साधुत्वहेतुः
Poverty alone became the cause of virtue.
स्नानमेव प्रसाधनहेतुः
Bathing alone became the cause of adornment.
