इत्येतेष्टत्रिंशदुत्तरमष्टशतं पंच प्रद्योताः पृथिवीं भोक्ष्यन्ति
Thus, these five Pradyotas will rule the earth for one hundred and thirty-eight years.
ततश्च शिशुनाभः
After them will be Śiśunābha.
तत्पुत्रः काकवर्णो भविता
His son will be Kākavarṇa.
तस्य च पुत्रः क्षेमधर्मा
His son will be Kṣemadharmā.
तस्यापि क्षतौजाः
His son will be Kṣataujas.
तत्पुत्रो विधिसारः
His son will be Vidhisāra.
ततश्चाजातशत्रुः
After him will be Ajātaśatru.
तस्मादर्भकः
From him will be Arbhaka.
तस्माच्चोदयनः
From him will be Udayana.
तस्मादपि नंदिवर्द्धनः
From him too will be Nandivardhana.
ततो महानंदी
After him will be Mahānandin.
इत्येते शैशनाभा भूपालास्त्रीणि वर्षशतानि द्विषष्ट्यधिकानि भविष्यंति
Thus, these Śaiśanābha kings will reign for three hundred and sixty-two years.
महानंदिनस्ततश्शूद्रा गर्भोद्भवोतिलुब्धोतिबलो महापद्मनामा नंदः परशुराम इवापरोऽखिलक्षत्रांतकारी भविष्यति
Then, from the womb of a Shudra woman, will be born Mahapadma Nanda, greedy for power, strong, and like another Parashurama, he will bring about the destruction of all the Kshatriyas.
ततः प्रभृति शूद्रा भूपाला भविष्यंति
From that time onward, kings will arise from the Shudra class.
स चैकच्छत्रामनुल्लंघितशासनो महापद्मः पृथिवीं भोक्ष्यते
That Mahapadma, possessing undivided sovereignty and unchallenged authority, will rule the earth.
तस्याप्यष्टौ सुतास्सुमाल्याद्य भवितारः
He too will have eight sons, beginning with Sumalya.
तस्य महापद्मस्यानुपृथिवीं भोक्ष्यंति
These sons of Mahapadma will rule the earth in succession.
महापद्मपुत्राश्चैकं वर्षशतमवनीपतयो भविष्यंति
The sons of Mahapadma will be kings of the earth for one hundred years.
ततश्च नवचैतान्नंदान् कौटिल्यो ब्राह्मणस्समुद्धरिष्यति
Afterwards, a Brahmin named Kautilya will overthrow these nine Nandas.
तेषामभावे मौर्व्याः पृथिवीं भोक्ष्यंति
In their absence, the Mauryas will rule the earth.
कौटिल्य एव चंद्र गुप्तसुत्पन्नं राज्येऽभिषेक्ष्यति
Kautilya himself will consecrate Chandragupta, who is born in the Maurya line, as king.
तस्यापि पुत्रो बिंदुसारो भविष्यति
He too will have a son named Bindusara.
तस्याप्यशोकवर्द्धनस्ततस्सुयशास्ततश्च दशरथस्ततश्च संयुतस्ततश्शालिशूकस्तस्मात्सोमशर्मा तस्यापि सोमशर्मणश्शतधन्वा
His son will be Ashokavardhana; then Suyaśas, then Dasharatha, then Samyuta, then Shalishuka, then Somasharma, and from him, Shatadhanvan.
तस्यानुबृहद्र थनामा भविता
After him, Brihadratha by name will be born.
एवमेते मौर्य्या दश भूपतयो भविष्यंति अब्दशतं सप्तत्रिंशदुत्तरम्
Thus, these ten Maurya kings will rule for one hundred and thirty-seven years.
तेषामंते पृथिवीं दश शुंगा भोक्ष्यंति
At the end of their line, ten Shungas will rule the earth.
पुष्यमित्रस्सेनापतिस्स्वामिनं हत्वा राज्यं करिष्यति तस्यात्मजोऽग्निमित्रः
Pushyamitra, the commander, having slain his master, will take the kingdom; his son will be Agnimitra.
तस्मात्सुज्येष्ठस्ततो वसुमित्रस्तस्मादप्युदंकस्ततः पुलिंदकस्ततो घोषवसुस्तस्मादपि वज्रमित्रस्ततो भागवतः
From him will come Sujyestha, then Vasumitra, then Andhaka, then Pulindaka, then Ghoshavasu, then Vajramitra, and then Bhagavata.
तस्माद्देवभूतिः
From him will come Devabhuti.
इत्येते शुंगा द्वादशोत्तरं वर्षशतं पृथिवीं भोक्ष्यंति
Thus, these Shungas will rule the earth for one hundred and twelve years.
