तस्मादुरुक्षयस्तस्माच्च वत्सव्यूहस्ततश्च प्रतिव्योमस्तस्मादपि दिवाकरः ॥ ४,२२.
From him will come Urukṣaya; from him, Vatsavyūha; then Prativyoma; from him, Divākara.
तस्मात्सहदेवः सहदेवाद्बृहदश्वस्तत्सूनुर्भानुरथस्तस्य च प्रतीताश्वस्तस्यापि सुप्रतीकस्ततश्च मरुदेवस्ततः सुनक्षत्रस्तमात्किन्नरः ॥ ४,२२.
From him, Sahadeva; from Sahadeva, Bṛhadaśva; his son will be Bhānuratha; from him, Pratītāśva; from him, Supratīka; then Marudeva; from him, Sunakṣatra; from him, Kinnara.
किन्नरादन्तरिक्षस्तस्मात्सुपर्णस्ततश्चामित्रजित् ॥ ४,२२.
From Kinnara, Antarikṣa; from him, Suparṇa; then Amitrajit.
ततश्च बृहद्भाजस्तस्यापि धर्मी धर्मीणः कृतञ्जयः ॥ ४,२२.
Then Bṛhadbhāja; his son will be Dharmī; from Dharmī, Kṛtañjaya.
कृतञ्जयाद्रणञ्जयः ॥ ४,२२.
From Kṛtañjaya, Raṇañjaya.
रणञ्जयात्संजयस्तस्माच्छाक्यश्छाक्याच्छुद्धोदनस्तस्माद्राहुलस्ततः प्रसेनजित् ॥ ४,२२.
From Raṇañjaya, Saṃjaya; from him, Śākya; from Śākya, Śuddhodana; from him, Rāhula; then Prasenajit.
ततश्च क्षुद्रकस्ततश्चज कुण्डकस्तस्मादपि सुरथः ॥ ४,२२.
Then Kṣudraka; then Kuṇḍaka; from him, Suratha.
तत्पुत्रश्च सुमित्रः ॥ ४,२२.
His son will be Sumitra.
इत्येते चेक्ष्वाकवो बृहद्बलान्वयाः ॥ ४,२२.
Thus, these are the Ikṣvākus descended from Bṛhadbala.
अत्रानुवंशश्लोकः ॥ ४,२२.
Here is the verse about the lineage.
इक्ष्वाकूणामयं वंशःसुमित्रान्तो भविष्यति । यतस्तं प्राप्य राजानं संस्थां प्राप्स्यति वै कलौ ॥ ४,२२.
This is the lineage of the Ikṣvākus, which will end with Sumitra; when it reaches that king, the line will come to an end in the Kali age.
मागधानां बार्हद्रथानां भविष्याणामनुक्रमं कथयामि ।। ४-२३-
Now I will recount the succession of the future Bārhadrathas among the Māgadhas.
अत्र हि वंशे महाबला जरासन्धप्रधानां बङूवुः ।। ४-२३-
In this line, there were powerful kings, foremost among them Jarāsandha.
जरासचन्धसुतात् सहदेवचात सोमापिः, तस्मात् श्रुतवान्, तस्याप्ययुतायुः, ततश्व निरमित्रः तत्तनयः सुक्षत्रः, तस्मादपि बृहत्कर्म्मा, ततश्व सेनजित्, तस्माज्व श्रुतञ्जयः, ततो विप्रः, तस्य च पुत्रः शुचिनामा भविष्यति । तस्यापि क्षेम्यः, ततश्व सुव्रतादू धर्म्मः, ततः सुश्रमः, ततो दृढ़सेनः, ततः सुमतिः, तस्मात् सुबलः, तस्य सुनीतो भविता । ततः सत्यजित्, सत्यजितो विशजित्, तस्यापि रिपुञ्जयः पुत्रः, इत्येते बाहद्रथा भूपतयो वर्षसहस्त्रमेकं भविष्यन्ति ।। ४-२३-
From Jarāsandha's son came Sahadeva, then Somāpi; from him, Śrutavān; his son will be Ayutāyu; then Niramitra, whose son will be Sukṣatra; from him, Bṛhatkarman; then Senajit; from him, Śrutañjaya; then Vipra; his son will be named Śuci; from him, Kṣemya; then from Suvrata, Dharma; then Suśrama; then Dṛḍhasena; then Sumati; from him, Subala; his son will be Sunīta; then Satyajit; from Satyajit, Viśajit; his son will be Ripuñjaya. These Bārhadratha kings will rule for one thousand years.
श्रीपराशर उवाच । योऽयं रिपुंजयो नाम बार्हद्रथोंत्यः तस्यामात्यो मुनिको नाम भविष्यति
Śrī Parāśara said: This Ripuñjaya, the last of the Bārhadrathas, will have a minister named Munika.
स चैनं स्वामिनं हत्वा स्वुपुत्रं प्रद्योतनामानमभिषेक्ष्यति
He, having slain his master, will anoint his own son named Pradyota as king.
तस्यापि बलाकनामा पुत्रो भविता
He too will have a son named Bālaka.
ततश्च विशाखयूपः
After him will be Viśākhayūpa.
तत्पुत्रो जनकः
His son will be Janaka.
तस्य च नंदिवर्द्धनः
And his son will be Nandivardhana.
इत्येतेष्टत्रिंशदुत्तरमष्टशतं पंच प्रद्योताः पृथिवीं भोक्ष्यन्ति
Thus, these five Pradyotas will rule the earth for one hundred and thirty-eight years.
ततश्च शिशुनाभः
After them will be Śiśunābha.
तत्पुत्रः काकवर्णो भविता
His son will be Kākavarṇa.
तस्य च पुत्रः क्षेमधर्मा
His son will be Kṣemadharmā.
तस्यापि क्षतौजाः
His son will be Kṣataujas.
तत्पुत्रो विधिसारः
His son will be Vidhisāra.
ततश्चाजातशत्रुः
After him will be Ajātaśatru.
तस्मादर्भकः
From him will be Arbhaka.
तस्माच्चोदयनः
From him will be Udayana.
तस्मादपि नंदिवर्द्धनः
From him too will be Nandivardhana.
