अनोरानकदुन्दभिः ततश्चा भिजितभिजितः पुनर्वसुः ॥ ४,१४.
From Anu came Ānakadundubhi; then Abhijit and Abhijita; then Punarvasu.
तस्याप्याहुकः आहुकी च कन्या ॥ ४,१४.
He too had a son, Āhuka, and a daughter named Āhukī.
आहुकस्य देवकोग्रसेनौ द्वौ पुत्रौ ॥ ४,१४.
Āhuka had two sons, Devaka and Ugrasena.
देववानुपदेवः सहदेवो देवरक्षिता च देवकस्य चत्वारः पुत्राः ॥ ४,१४.
Devaka had four sons: Devavān, Upadeva, Sahadeva, and Devarakṣitā.
तेषां वृकदेवोपदेवा देवरक्षिता श्रीदेवा शान्तिदेवा सहदेवा देवकी च सप्तभगिन्यः ॥ ४,१४.
Their seven daughters were Vṛkadevā, Upadevā, Devarakṣitā, Śrīdevā, Śāntidevā, Sahadevā, and Devakī.
ताश्च सर्वा वसुदेव उपयेमे ॥ ४,१४.
Vasudeva married all of them.
उग्रसेनस्यापि कंसन्यग्रोधसुनामानकाह्वशङ्कुसुभूमिराष्ट्रपालयुद्धतुष्टिसुतुष्टिंमत्संज्ञाः पुत्रा बभूवुः ॥ ४,१४.
Ugrasena also had sons named Kaṃsa, Nyagrodha, Sunāma, Nakāhva, Śaṅku, Subhūmi, Rāṣṭrapāla, Yuddhatuṣṭi, Sutuṣṭi, and Matsa.
कंसाकंसवतीसुतनूराष्ट्रपलिकाह्वाश्चोग्रसेनस्य तनूजाः कन्याः ॥ ४,१४.
Kaṃsā, Kaṃsavatī, Sutanū, and Rāṣṭrapalikā were the daughters of Ugrasena.
भजमानाच्च विदूरथः पुत्रोऽभवत् ॥ ४,१४.
From Bhajamāna was born a son named Vidūratha.
विदूरथाच्छूरः शुराच्छमी शमिनः प्रतिक्षत्रः तस्मात्स्वयंभोजः ततश्च हृदिकः ॥ ४,१४.
From Vidūratha came Śūra; from Śūra, Śamī; from Śamī, Pratikṣatra; from him, Svayaṃbhoja; and from him, Hṛdika.
तस्यापि कृतवर्मशतधनुर्दवार्हदेवगर्भाद्याः पुत्रा बभूवुः ॥ ४,१४.
He too had sons: Kṛtavarmā, Śatadhanvan, Davārha, Devagarbha, and others.
देवगर्भस्यापि शुरः ॥ ४,१४.
Devagarbha also had a son named Śūra.
शुरस्यापि मारीषा नाम पत्न्यभवत् ॥ ४,१४.
Śūra had a wife named Mārīṣā.
तस्यां चासौ दशपुत्रानजनयद्वसुदेवरूर्वान् ॥ ४,१४.
In her, he begot ten sons, including Vasudeva and Ūrva.
वसुदेवस्य जातमात्रस्यैव तद्गृहे भगवदंशावतारमव्याहतदृष्ट्या पश्यद्भिर्देवैर्दिव्यानकदुन्दुभयो वादिताः ॥ ४,१४.
When Vasudeva was just born in that house, the gods, seeing with unobstructed vision the descent of the divine portion, sounded celestial drums and dundubhis.
ततश्चसावानकदुन्दुभिसंज्ञामवाप ॥ ४,१४.
Therefore, he received the name Ānakadundubhi.
तस्य च देवभागदेवश्रवाष्टकककुच्चक्रवत्सधारकसृंजयश्यामशमिकगञ्जूषसंज्ञा नव भ्रतरोऽभवन् ॥ ४,१४.
He had nine brothers: Devabhāga, Devaśravā, Aṣṭaka, Kakud, Cakravata, Sadhāraka, Sṛṃjaya, Śyāma, and Śamikagañjūṣa.
पृथा श्रुतदेवा श्रुत कीर्तिः श्रुतश्रवा राजाधिदेवी च वसुदेदादीनां पञ्च भगिन्योऽभवन् ॥ ४,१४.
Vasudeva and the others had five sisters: Pṛthā, Śrutadevā, Śrutakīrti, Śrutaśravā, and Rājādhidevī.
शुरस्य कुन्तिर्नाम सखाभवत् ॥ ४,१४.
Śūra had a friend named Kuntir.
तस्मै चापुत्राय पृथामात्मजां विधिना शुरो दत्तवान् ॥ ४,१४.
To him, who was without children, Śūra gave his daughter Pṛthā according to custom.
तां च पाण्डुरुवाह ॥ ४,१४.
Pandur took her as his wife.
तस्यां च धर्मानिलेन्द्रैर्युधिष्ठरभीमसेनार्जुनाख्यास्त्रयः पुत्राःसमुत्पादिताः ॥ ४,१४.
And in her, through Dharma, Vayu, and Indra, three sons named Yudhishthira, Bhimasena, and Arjuna were begotten.
पूर्वमेवानूढायाश्च भगवता भास्वता कानीनः कर्णो नाम पुत्रोऽजन्यत ॥ ४,१४.
Even before she was married, by the radiant divine being, a son named Karna was born to her, known as a Kānīna.
तस्याश्च सपत्नी माद्री नामाभूत् ॥ ४,१४.
She had a co-wife named Madri.
तस्यां च नासत्यदस्त्राभ्यां नकुलसहदेवौ पाण्डोः पुत्रौ जनितौ ॥ ४,१४.
In her, through the twin Ashvins, Nakula and Sahadeva, sons of Pandu, were born.
श्रुतदेवां तु वृद्धधर्मा नाम कारूश उवयेमे ॥ ४,१४.
Shrutadeva was married by Vriddhadharma, king of Karusha.
तस्याञ्च च दन्तवक्रो नाम महासुरो जज्ञे ॥ ४,१४.
In her, a great asura named Dantavakra was born.
श्रुतकीर्तिमपि केकयराजा उपयेमे ॥ ४,१४.
Shrutakirti was also married by the king of Kekaya.
तस्यां च संतर्दनादयः कैकेयाः पञ्च पुत्रा बभूवुः ॥ ४,१४.
In her, five sons of Kekaya, beginning with Santardana, were born.
राजाधिदेव्यमावन्त्यौ विन्दानुविन्दौ जज्ञाते ॥ ४,१४.
From Rajadhidevi, the Avanti princes Vindya and Anuvindya were born.
