He had a daughter named Revatī.
Taking her, he went to the world of Brahmā to ask the blessed Lotus-born which suitor would be worthy of her.
Meanwhile, in the presence of Brahmā, the Gandharvas named Hāhā and Hūhū sang a divine Gandharva song called Atitāna.
Though many ages had passed as the song was sung and the three paths revolved, Raivata, listening, thought it lasted only a moment.
At the end of the song, Raivata bowed to the blessed Lotus-born and asked for a suitable husband for his daughter.
Then the blessed one said, 'Tell me which suitor you desire.'
Again bowing to the blessed one, he told him the suitors he considered suitable, saying, 'Which of these, O blessed one, do you approve, to whom I should give this daughter?'
Then, with his head slightly bowed and smiling, the blessed Lotus-born spoke.
Those whom you desire—none of them now have descendants of sons or grandsons remaining on earth.
While you were here listening to the Gandharva song, many ages have already passed.
On the earth, the twenty-eighth cycle of Manu has nearly passed its four ages.
Indeed, the Kali age is near.
This jewel among maidens should be given by you, alone, to another who is worthy and whom you desire.
All your sons, friends, wives, ministers, servants, relatives, forces, and treasures have, in time, completely passed away.
Then, once more seized by fear, the king, having bowed to the Blessed One, asked him.
"Blessed one, in this situation, to whom should this (maiden) not be given?"
Then the Blessed One, the lotus-born, teacher of all worlds, with head slightly bowed and hands joined in reverence, spoke.
Brahmā said: "We do not know the beginning, middle, or end of the Unborn, the source of all, who is everything; nor do we know the true form, the supreme nature, or the essence of the Supreme Lord."
Time, composed of moments and hours, is not the cause of transformation for His glory, who is birthless, deathless, ever of one form, without name or form, eternal.
By whose grace I, the form of Acyuta, create beings and bring about their end; from whose wrath is Rudra, the cause of dissolution; and from whom, in the middle, is the Puruṣa, distinct from the supreme.
Assuming that very form, He creates; as the Puruṣa, He preserves in existence; as Rudra, He upholds the universe; thus, the infinite-bodied One encompasses all.
For ripening, He becomes fire; He supports the worlds as the earth-formed soul; as Indra and others, He protects the universe; as the sun and moon, He dispels darkness.
He acts as the breath of life; as water and food, He satisfies the world; established in the maintenance of the universe, as space, He gives all room.
He who creates creation by Himself, who is the protector and the divine guardian, who is the soul of the universe and the destroyer, and who is the imperishable essence of these three.
In whom this world, the first of worlds, abides; whom the self-born has taken refuge in; He, O Earth, the source of all beings, has descended here in a portion of Himself, O king, to nourish you.
O king, your delightful city Kuśasthalī, which was once like Amarāvatī, now exists as Dvārakā; there abides that portion of Keśava known as Baladeva.
To him, O king, give this daughter as wife to the illustrious son of your enemy, who is worthy of praise; this jewel among women is a fitting match.
Śrī Parāśara said: Thus addressed by the lotus-born, the lord of the people, having reached the earth, saw men who were short, deformed, of little strength, and lacking discernment and valor.
Having arrived at that city of Kuśasthalī and seeing it transformed, the wise king gave his daughter—whose breast was like a crystal mountain—to Śīrāyudha.
Observing her to be of great stature, Tālaketu touched her with the tip of his plough, and at once she became a woman of ordinary form.
