They, the Satyās, were participants in the sacrifice during the third Dvāpara Manvantara; again, when the Tāmasa Manvantara arrived, the Satyā gods appeared once more.
The sons of Harṣa, twelve in number, were then born in the Tāmasa Manvantara; these gods were called Harayas and became participants in the sacrifice.
Then, when the Cariṣṇu Manvantara arrived, those Haraya gods were born from Vaikuṇṭhā; in the fifth Manvantara, the gods were called Vaikuṇṭhās, born from Cariṣṇu.
Then again, when the Vaikuṇṭha gods reached the Cākṣuṣa Manvantara, twelve sons were born from Sādhyā, the sons of Dharma.
Again, when the Sādhyās diminished at the end of the Cākṣuṣa Manvantara, and the creation of Manu Vaivasvata approached,
At the beginning of the first Tretā Yuga, in the Vaivasvata Manvantara, the Sādhyās, by a portion, were born from Aditi, from Marīci and Kaśyapa.
Thus, in the present Manvantara, the twelve Ādityas were born; and when they had arisen in the Cākṣuṣa Manvantara of Manu,
Then, in the Svāyambhuva Manvantara, twelve immortal Sādhyās were born; thus, the original Jayās came into being at that time due to a curse.

Thus, these seven manifestations of the Jayās, each with seven characteristics, have been described by me today. What more would you wish to hear?
Tell us in detail about the origin and destruction of the Daityas, Danavas, Gandharvas, serpents, Rakshasas, all beings, ghosts, animals, birds, and plants.
Thus addressed, the Suta spoke to the eminent sages: We have heard that Kasyapa begot two sons from Diti.
Those two sons of Kasyapa are remembered as the eldest among all, born on the day of the prolonged Ashvamedha sacrifice performed by Kasyapa.
The first, named Hiranyakashipu, took the seat of the officiating priest; emerging from Diti's womb, he sat in the grand assembly, and thus, by that act, he became known as Hiranyakashipu.
O master, tell us in detail about the birth and greatness of the noble Hiranyakashipu, the Daitya.
Kasyapa's Ashvamedha sacrifice was performed long ago at Pushkara, sanctified and adorned by sages, gods, and Gandharvas.
At the beginning of the narration, according to the highest prescribed method, five golden seats were properly arranged.
There were three seats purified with kusa grass, and a seat for the Kurcha (ritual implement); the four chief priests should be assigned to these seats.

Then, emerging from his mother's womb, he sat upon the golden seat prepared for the Hotṛ priest, still in the womb, and there, seated, he spoke.
The great sage Kasyapa, as in the five narrations of the Vedas, was seen by the sages, who then named him accordingly.
Thus, Hiranyakashipu became renowned for that act; his younger brother was Hiranyaksha, and Simhika was their sister; she became the mother of Rahu, having been taken by Vipracitti.

Brahma, pleased, granted the Daitya a boon; he received immortality among Brahmins and all beings, and, through yoga, having conquered the gods, he assumed supremacy over all deities.

Thus addressed, Brahma granted him his desired boons, gave him divine gifts, and vanished there; Hiranyakashipu, the Daitya, was celebrated in ancient verses.
Wherever King Hiranyakashipu resides, the gods of that region, along with the great sages, offer him their salutations.
