मन्वन्तरेषु देवानां प्रजेशानां च कीर्त्तनम्। दक्षस्य चापि दौहित्राः प्रियाया दुहितुः सुताः
In the Manvantaras, the gods and the lords of creatures are recounted; also, the grandsons of Daksha, the sons of his beloved daughter.
सावर्णाद्याश्च कीर्त्त्यन्ते मनवो मेरुमाश्रिताः। ध्रुवस्योत्तानपादस्य प्रजासर्गोपवर्णनम्
The Manus beginning with Savarni, who dwell on Meru, are described; and the account of the creation of beings by Dhruva and Uttanapada.

विनिवृत्ते प्रजासर्गे चाक्षुषस्य मनोः शुभे। दक्षस्य कीर्त्त्यते सर्गो ध्यानाद्वैवस्वतैऽन्तरे
When the creation of beings ceased in the auspicious period of Cakshusha Manu, the creation by Daksha is recounted, through meditation, in the Vaivasvata Manvantara.

Then Daksha created daughters, renowned in Virini; the creation of Dharma and of the wise Kashyapa is recounted.
अत ऊर्ध्वं ब्रह्मणश्च विष्णोश्चैव भवस्य च। एकत्वं च पृथक्त्वं च विशेषत्वं च कीर्त्यते
Thereafter, the unity, the distinction, and the particularity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are described.
ईशत्वाच्च यथा शप्ता जाता देवाः स्वयम्भुवा। मरुत्प्रसादो मरुतां दित्या देवांशसम्भवाः
And how, by lordship, the gods were cursed and born from Svayambhuva; the favor of the Maruts, the Maruts born from Diti, and the gods arising from portions.
कीर्त्त्यन्ते मरुताञ्चाथ गणास्ते सप्तसप्तकाः। देवत्वं पितृवाक्येन वायुस्कन्धेन चाश्रयः
The Maruts are described, and their groups, seven by seven; their divinity by the words of the ancestors, and their support by the troop of Vayu.
दैत्यानां दानवानाञ्च गन्धर्वोरगरक्षसाम्। सर्वभूतपिशाचानां पशूनां पक्षिवीरुधाम्। उत्पत्तयश्चाप्सरसां कीर्त्त्यन्ते बहुविस्तरात्
The origins of the Daityas, Dānavas, Gandharvas, serpents, Rākṣasas, all beings, Piśācas, animals, birds, plants, and also the birth of the Apsarases are described in great detail.
समुद्रसंयोगकृतं जन्मैरावतहस्तिनः। वैनतेयसमुत्पत्तिस्तथा चास्याभिषेचनम्

The sage Parāśara’s lineage is also described, where the expansion of beings is narrated, and then the creation of the gods and seers is further recounted.
तिस्रः कन्याः प्रकीर्त्त्यन्ते यासु लोकाः प्रतिष्ठिताः। पितृदौहित्रनिर्द्देशो देवानां जन्म चोच्यते
Three maidens are mentioned, in whom the worlds are established; the designation of the Pitṛs’ granddaughter and the birth of the gods are also told.
विस्तरस्ते भगवतः पञ्चानां सुमहात्मनाम्। इलाया विस्तरश्चोक्त आदित्यस्य ततः परम्

The greatness of Jyāmagha is described, as well as the creation of beings; and also the accounts of Devāvṛdha, Arka, and the noble Vṛṣṭi.

The creation of beings by the noble Yudhājit is described, as well as the illustrious lineage of the royal sage Devamīḍhuṣa.
पुनश्च जन्म चाप्युक्तं चरितञ्च महात्मनः। कंसस्यचापि दौरात्म्यमेकान्तेन समुद्भवः
Again, the birth and deeds of the great soul are narrated, and the utter wickedness and unique origin of Kaṃsa are also told.
वासुदेवस्य देवक्यां विष्णोर्ज्जन्म प्रजापतेः। विष्णोरनन्तरञ्चापि प्रजासर्गोपवर्णनम्
The birth of Viṣṇu, lord of creatures, as the son of Vasudeva and Devakī is described, and then the subsequent creation of beings by Viṣṇu is recounted.
दैवासुरे समुत्पन्ने विष्णुना स्त्रीवधे कृते। संरक्षता शक्रवधं शापः प्राप्तः पुरा भृगोः। भृगुश्चोत्थापयामास दिव्यां शुक्रस्य मातरम्
When the conflict between gods and demons arose, Viṣṇu killed a woman; while protecting Indra, he incurred a curse from Bhṛgu in ancient times; and Bhṛgu revived the divine mother of Śukra.
देवानामसुराणां च संग्रामा द्वादशायुताः। नारसिंहप्रभृतयः कीर्त्त्यन्ते प्राणनाशनाः
The battles between the gods and demons, numbering twelve thousand, beginning with Narasiṃha and others, are recounted, which brought about the destruction of life.
शुक्रेणाराधनं स्थाणोर्धीरेण तपसा कृतम्। वरदानप्रलुब्धेन यत्र शर्वस्तवः कृतः। अनन्तरं विनिर्दिष्टं देवासुरविचेष्टितम्
Śukra, steadfast in penance, worshipped Śiva, and, enticed by the granting of boons, composed a hymn to Śarva; thereafter, the actions of the gods and demons are described.
जयन्त्या सह सक्ते तु यत्र शुक्रे महात्मनि। असुरान्मोहयामास शुक्ररूपेण बुद्धिमान्। बृहस्पतिस्तु तान् शुक्रः शशाप सुमहाद्युतिः
When Jayantī was united with the great Śukra, he, taking the form of Śukra, deluded the demons with his intelligence; then Bṛhaspati, shining greatly, cursed them as Śukra.
