धनधर्मा ततश्चापि चतुर्थो विंशजः स्मृतः। भूतिनन्दस्ततश्चापि वैदेशे तु भविष्यति ।। ३७.
Dhanadharma will be the third, and the fourth is known as Viṃśaja; then Bhūtinanda will arise in the land of the foreigners.
अङ्गानां नन्दनस्यान्ते मधुनन्दिर्भविष्यति। तस्य भ्राता यवीयांस्तु नाम्ना नन्दियशाः किल ।। ३७.
At the end of the line of the Angas, Madhunandi will become king; his younger brother, named Nandiyaśāḥ, will also reign.
तस्यान्वये भविष्यन्ति राजानस्ते त्रयस्तु वै। दोहित्रः शिशुको नाम पुरिकायां नृपोऽभवत् ।। ३७.
In their lineage, three kings will arise; the grandson named Śiśuka became king in Purikā.
विन्ध्यशक्तिसुतश्चापि प्रवीरो नाम वीर्यवान् । भोक्ष्यन्ति च समाः षष्टिं पुरीं काञ्चनकाञ्च वै ।। ३७.
And Pravīra, son of Vindhyaśakti, endowed with great strength, will rule the golden city for sixty years.
यक्ष्यन्ति वाजपेयैश्च समाप्तवरदक्षिणैः। तस्य पुत्रास्तु चत्वारो भविष्यन्ति नराधिपाः ।। ३७.
He will perform Vājapeya sacrifices, granting complete gifts; his four sons will become rulers of men.
विन्ध्यकानां कुलेऽतीते नृपा वै बाह्लिका स्त्रयः। सुप्रतीको नभीरस्तु समा भोक्ष्यति त्रिंशतिम् ।। ३७.
After the Vindhya dynasty has passed, three kings of the Bāhlika lineage will reign; Supratīka and Nabhīra will rule for thirty years.
शक्यमा नाम वै राजा माहिषीनां महीपतिः। पुष्पमित्रा भविष्यन्ति पट्टमित्रास्त्रयोदश ।। ३७.
Śakyamā, king of the Māhiṣīs, will rule; the Puṣpamitra kings will arise, and thirteen Paṭṭamitra rulers as well.
मेकलायां नृपाः सप्त भविष्यन्ति च सत्तमाः। कोमलायान्तु राजानो भविष्यन्ति महाबलाः ।। ३७.
In Mekalā, seven noble kings will arise; in Komalā, the kings will be mighty.
मेघा इति समाख्याता बुद्धिमन्तो नवैव तु। नैषधाः पार्थिवाः सर्व्वे भविष्यन्त्यामनुक्षयात् ।। ३७.
The Meghas, nine in number and wise, are so named; all the kings of Naiṣadha will perish without remainder.
नलवंशप्रसूतास्ते वीर्यवन्तो महाबलाः। मागधानां महावीर्यो विश्वस्फानिर्भविष्यति ।। ३७.
Born from the lineage of Nala, they will be powerful and mighty; among the Magadhas, Viśvasphāni, of great strength, will arise.
उत्साद्य पार्थिवान् सर्व्वान्सोऽन्यान् वर्णान् करिष्यति। कैवर्त्तान् पञ्चकांश्चैव पुलिन्दान् ब्राह्मणांस्तथा ।। ३७.
Having destroyed all the kings, he will make others into different castes: five Kaivartas, Pulindas, and also Brahmins.
स्थापयिष्यन्ति राजानो नानादेशेषु तेजसा। विश्वस्फानिर्महासत्त्वो युद्धे विष्णुसमो बली ।। ३७.
The kings will establish themselves in various regions by their prowess; Viśvasphāni, of great spirit, equal to Viṣṇu in battle, will be mighty.
विश्वस्फानिर्नरपतिः क्लीबा कृतिरिवोच्यते। उत्सादयित्वा क्षत्रन्तु क्षत्रमन्यत् करिष्यति ।। ३७.
A king who destroys the kṣatriya class will produce another kṣatriya class, just as the all-pervading serpent is said to do, or as a work is created anew.
देवान् पितॄंश्च विप्रांश्च तर्पयित्वा सकृत्पुनः। जाह्नवीतीरमासाद्य शरीरं यस्यते बली ।। ३७.
Having once satisfied the gods, ancestors, and brahmins, the powerful one, reaching the bank of the Ganges, will abandon his body.
संन्यस्य स्वशरीरन्तु शक्रलोकं गमिष्यति। नवनाकास्तु भोक्ष्यन्ति पुरीं चम्पावतीं नृपाः ।। ३७.
Renouncing his own body, he will go to the world of Indra; kings of the Navanāka lineage will enjoy the city of Campāvatī.
मथुराञ्च पुरीं रम्यां नागा भोक्ष्यन्ति सप्त वै। अनुगङ्गं प्रयागञ्च साकेतं मगधांस्तथा। एताञ्जनपदान् सर्व्वान् भोक्ष्यन्ते गुप्तवंशजाः ।। ३७.
The seven Nāgas will enjoy the delightful city of Mathurā; likewise, the regions along the Ganges, Prayāga, Sāketa, Magadha—these lands will all be enjoyed by the descendants of the Gupta lineage.
निषधान् यदुकांश्चैव शैशी तान् कालतोपकान्। एताञ्जनपदान् सर्व्वान् भोक्ष्यन्ति मणिधान्यजाः ।। ३७.
The Niṣadhas, Yadus, Śaiśis, and Kālatopakās—all these regions will be enjoyed by those born of the Maṇidhānya lineage.
कोशलांश्चान्ध्रपौण्ड्रांश्च ताम्रलिप्तान् ससागरान्। चम्पां चैव पुरीं रम्यां भोक्ष्यन्ति देवरक्षिताम् ।। ३७.
Kośala, Andhra, Pauṇḍra, Tāmralipta with the sea, and the beautiful city of Campā—these will be enjoyed by those protected by the gods.
कालिङ्गा महिषाश्चैव महेन्द्रनिलयाश्च ये। एताञ्जनपदान् सर्व्वान् पालयिष्यति वै गुहः ।। ३७.
Kāliṅgas, Mahiṣas, and those dwelling on Mahendra—all these regions will be governed by Guha.
स्त्रीराष्ट्रं भक्ष्यकांश्चैव भोक्ष्यते कनकाह्वयः। तुल्यकालं भविष्यन्ति सर्वे ह्येते महीक्षितः ।। ३७.
Kanakāhvaya will enjoy the land of women and those fit to be consumed; all these kings will exist at the same time.
अल्पप्रसादा ह्यनृता महाक्रोधाः ह्यधार्मिकाः। भविष्यन्तीह यवना धर्मतः कामतोऽर्थतः ।। ३७.
The Yavanas will be of little generosity, untruthful, greatly wrathful, and unrighteous, both in conduct, desire, and wealth.
नैव मूर्द्धाभिषिक्तास्ते भविष्यन्ति नराधिपाः। युगदोषदुराचारा भविष्यन्ति नृपास्तु ते ।। ३७.
They will not be kings anointed on the head; those kings will be of evil conduct due to the faults of the age.
स्त्रीणां बलवधेनैव हत्वा चैव परस्परम्। भोक्ष्यन्ति कलिशेषे तु वसुधां पार्थिवास्तथा ।। ३७.
By killing women and each other by force, the kings will enjoy the earth in the final portion of the Kali age.
उदितोदितवंशास्ते उदितास्तमितास्तथा । भविष्यन्तीह पर्याये कालेन पृथिवीक्षितः ।। ३७.
Those kings whose lineages rise and fall, appearing and disappearing, will rule the earth in succession, according to time.
विहीनास्तु भविष्यन्ति धर्म्मतः कामतोऽर्थतः। तैर्विमिश्रा जनपदा म्लेच्छाचाराश्च सर्वशः ।। ३७.
They will be devoid of righteousness, desire, and wealth; the lands mixed with them will entirely follow mleccha customs.
विपर्य्ययेन वर्त्तन्ते नाशयिष्यन्ति वै प्रजाः। लुब्धानृतरताश्चैव भवितारस्तदा नृपाः ।। ३७.
They will act contrary to order and will destroy the people; at that time, the kings will be greedy and delight in falsehood.
तेषां व्यतीते पर्याये बहुस्त्रीके युगे तदा। लवाल्लवं भ्रश्यमाना आयूरूपबलश्रुतैः ।। ३७.
When their turn has passed, in that age of many women, people will decline little by little in lifespan, appearance, strength, and learning.
तथा गतास्तु वै काष्ठां प्रजासु जगतीश्वराः । राजानः सम्प्रणश्यन्ति कालेनोपहतास्तदा ।। ३७.
Thus, when the kings have reached the lowest state among the people, they will perish, struck down by time.
कल्किनोपहताः सर्वे म्लेच्छा यास्यन्ति सर्वशः। अधार्मिकाश्च तेऽत्यर्थं पाषण्डाश्चैव सर्वशः ।। ३७.
All the mlecchas, being destroyed by Kalki, will depart entirely; they will be extremely unrighteous and wholly heretical.
प्रनष्टे नृपशब्दे च सन्ध्याश्लिष्टे कलौ युगे। किंञ्चिच्छिष्टाः प्रजास्ता वै धर्म्मे नष्टेऽपरिग्रहाः ।। ३७.
When the title of king is lost and the twilight of the Kali age is joined, only a few people will remain, bereft of righteousness and possessions.
