Vayu Purana

त्रयोविंशत्समा राजा सिन्धुको भविता त्वथ। अष्टौ भातश्च वर्षाणि तस्माद्दश भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Sindhuka will be king for twenty-three years; after him, Bhāta will rule for eight years, and then another will reign for ten years.

श्रीसातकर्णिर्भविता तस्य पुत्रस्तु वै महान्। पञ्चाशतं समाः षट् च सातकर्णिर्भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Śrī Sātakarṇi, his son, will be a great king; Sātakarṇi will rule for fifty-six years.

आपादबद्धो दश वै तस्य पुत्रो भविष्यति। चतुर्व्विंशत्तु वर्षाणि षट् समा वै भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Āpādabaddha, his son, will rule for ten years; he will reign for twenty-four years and six years more.

भविता नेमिकृष्णस्तु वर्षाणां पञ्चविंशतिम्। ततः संवत्सरं पूर्णं हालो राजा भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Nemi Kṛṣṇa will rule for twenty-five years; after that, Hāla will be king for a full year.

पञ्च सप्तक राजानो भविष्यन्ति महाबलाः। भाव्यः पुत्रिकषेणस्तु समाः सोऽप्येकविंशतिम् ।। ३७.

Five and seven powerful kings will arise; Putrikaṣeṇa will rule for twenty-one years.

सातकर्णिर्वर्षमेकं भविष्यति नराधिपः। अष्टाविंशत्तु वर्षाणि शिवस्वामी भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Sātakarṇi will be king for one year; Śivasvāmin will rule for twenty-eight years.

राजा च गौतमीपुत्र एकविंशत्समा नृषु। एकोनविंशतिं राजा यज्ञश्रीः सातकर्ण्यथ ।। ३७.

The king Gautamīputra will rule among men for twenty-one years; Yajñaśrī Sātakarṇi will rule for nineteen years.

षडेव भविता तस्माद्विजयस्तु समा नृपः। दण्डश्रीः सातकर्णी च तस्य पुत्रः समास्त्रयः ।। ३७.

Vijaya will rule for six years; Daṇḍaśrī Sātakarṇi, his son, will rule for three years.

पुलोवापि समाः सप्त अन्येषाञ्च भविष्यति । इत्येते वै नृपास्त्रिंशदन्ध्रा भोक्ष्यन्ति ये महीम् ।। ३७.

Puloma will rule for seven years, and so will others; thus, thirty Andhra kings will enjoy the earth.

समाः शतानि चत्वारि पञ्च षड्वै तथैव च। अन्ध्राणां संस्थिताः पञ्च तेषां वंशाः समाः पुनः ।। ३७.

Four hundred, fifty, and six years will be the duration of the Andhra dynasty; their line will continue for five more years.

सप्तैव तु भविष्यन्ति दशाभीरास्ततो नृपाः। सप्त गर्दभिनश्चापि ततोऽथ दश वै शकाः ।। ३७.

Then there will be seven Abhīra kings; after them, seven Gardabhinas, and then ten Śaka kings.

यवनाष्टौ भविष्यन्ति तुषारास्तु चतुर्दश। त्रयोदश मरुण्डाश्च मौना ह्यष्टादशैव तु ।। ३७.

There will be eight Yavana kings, fourteen Tuṣāras, thirteen Maruṇḍas, and eighteen Maunas.

अन्ध्रा भोक्ष्यन्ति वसुधां शते द्वे च शतं च वै। शतानि त्रीण्यशीतिञ्च भोक्ष्यन्ति वसुधां शकाः ।। ३७.

The Andhras will rule the earth for two hundred years; the Śakas will enjoy the earth for three hundred and eighty years.

अशीतिञ्चैव वर्षाणि भोक्तारो यवना महीम्। पञ्चवर्षशतानीह तुषाराणां मही स्मृता ।। ३७.

The Yavanas will rule the land for eighty years; here, the land of the Tuṣāras is said to last for five hundred years.

शतान्यर्द्धचतुर्थानि भवितारस्त्रयोदश। मरुण्डा वृषलैः सार्द्धं भाव्यान्या म्लेच्छजातयः ।। ३७.

Thirteen kings will arise, each ruling for one hundred and a quarter years; together with the Maruṇḍas and the wicked, other foreign races will also come into being.

शतानि त्रीणि भोक्ष्यन्ति म्लेच्छा एकादशैव तु। तच्छन्नेन च कालेन ततः कोलिकिला वृषाः ।। ३७.

The foreigners will enjoy the land for three hundred years, and eleven of them will do so; after that, during a concealed period, the Kolikila kings will rule.

ततः कोलिकिलेभ्यश्च विन्ध्यशक्तिर्भविष्यति। समाः षण्णवतिं त्रात्वा पृथिवीं च समेष्यति ।। ३७.

Then, from the Kolikilas, the Vindhyaśakti dynasty will arise; after protecting the earth for ninety-six years, it will come to an end.

वृषान् वै दिशकांश्चापि भविष्याश्च निबोधत। शेषस्य नागराजस्य पुत्रः स्वरपुरञ्जयः ।। ३७.

Now hear of the kings and rulers who will come after; the son of the last Nāga king will be Svarapurañjaya.

भोगी भविष्यते राजा नृपो नागकुलोद्वहः। सदाचन्द्रस्तु चन्द्रांशो द्वितीयो नखवांस्तथा ।। ३७.

He will be a king, a ruler from the Nāga lineage; Sadācandra, descended from the moon, will be the second, and Nakhavān likewise.

धनधर्मा ततश्चापि चतुर्थो विंशजः स्मृतः। भूतिनन्दस्ततश्चापि वैदेशे तु भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Dhanadharma will be the third, and the fourth is known as Viṃśaja; then Bhūtinanda will arise in the land of the foreigners.

अङ्गानां नन्दनस्यान्ते मधुनन्दिर्भविष्यति। तस्य भ्राता यवीयांस्तु नाम्ना नन्दियशाः किल ।। ३७.

At the end of the line of the Angas, Madhunandi will become king; his younger brother, named Nandiyaśāḥ, will also reign.

तस्यान्वये भविष्यन्ति राजानस्ते त्रयस्तु वै। दोहित्रः शिशुको नाम पुरिकायां नृपोऽभवत् ।। ३७.

In their lineage, three kings will arise; the grandson named Śiśuka became king in Purikā.

विन्ध्यशक्तिसुतश्चापि प्रवीरो नाम वीर्यवान् । भोक्ष्यन्ति च समाः षष्टिं पुरीं काञ्चनकाञ्च वै ।। ३७.

And Pravīra, son of Vindhyaśakti, endowed with great strength, will rule the golden city for sixty years.

यक्ष्यन्ति वाजपेयैश्च समाप्तवरदक्षिणैः। तस्य पुत्रास्तु चत्वारो भविष्यन्ति नराधिपाः ।। ३७.

He will perform Vājapeya sacrifices, granting complete gifts; his four sons will become rulers of men.

विन्ध्यकानां कुलेऽतीते नृपा वै बाह्लिका स्त्रयः। सुप्रतीको नभीरस्तु समा भोक्ष्यति त्रिंशतिम् ।। ३७.

After the Vindhya dynasty has passed, three kings of the Bāhlika lineage will reign; Supratīka and Nabhīra will rule for thirty years.

शक्यमा नाम वै राजा माहिषीनां महीपतिः। पुष्पमित्रा भविष्यन्ति पट्टमित्रास्त्रयोदश ।। ३७.

Śakyamā, king of the Māhiṣīs, will rule; the Puṣpamitra kings will arise, and thirteen Paṭṭamitra rulers as well.

मेकलायां नृपाः सप्त भविष्यन्ति च सत्तमाः। कोमलायान्तु राजानो भविष्यन्ति महाबलाः ।। ३७.

In Mekalā, seven noble kings will arise; in Komalā, the kings will be mighty.

मेघा इति समाख्याता बुद्धिमन्तो नवैव तु। नैषधाः पार्थिवाः सर्व्वे भविष्यन्त्यामनुक्षयात् ।। ३७.

The Meghas, nine in number and wise, are so named; all the kings of Naiṣadha will perish without remainder.

नलवंशप्रसूतास्ते वीर्यवन्तो महाबलाः। मागधानां महावीर्यो विश्वस्फानिर्भविष्यति ।। ३७.

Born from the lineage of Nala, they will be powerful and mighty; among the Magadhas, Viśvasphāni, of great strength, will arise.
