Vāsudeva, having defeated the mighty Jāmbavat, received Jāmbavatī, the daughter of the king of bears, who was agreeable to him.
Overcome by the divine brilliance of the blessed one, Jāmbavat forcefully gave the jewel and his daughter Jāmbavatī swiftly to Viṣvaksena.
He took the Syamantaka jewel for the purification of himself, and, having reconciled with the king of bears, then departed from the cave.
Thus, taking the jewel and purifying himself, he gave that jewel to Satrājit in the presence of the Sātvatas.
Madhusūdana spoke again to Jāmbavatī, and from that false accusation, Janārdana was released.
Whoever knows that this false accusation against Krishna has been dispelled here, will never utter a false accusation.
Satrājit had a hundred sons from his ten wives; three of them were renowned: Bhaṅgakāra, the eldest, Vīra, and Vratapati, and Supriya, who was the youngest.
Then, Dvāravatī, the daughter of Bhaṅgakāra, who had good progeny, gave birth to three sons, all endowed with beauty and virtue.
Among women, Satyabhāmā was the best, steadfast in her vows like an ascetic; her father gave her to Krishna.
That jewel, the Syamantaka, which Krishna gave to Satrājit, was later taken by Bhoja, Śatadhanvan.
Then Akrūra, desiring the jewel, sought the blameless Satyabhāmā and also the Syamantaka jewel.
After killing Bhadrakāra, the mighty Śatadhanvan took the jewel at night and then gave it to Akrūra.
Then Akrura, that foremost of men, took the jewel and made an agreement, saying, 'Let no one else but you be informed of this.'
'We shall comply; if you are overpowered by Krishna, all the people of Dvaraka will certainly remain under my control.'
When her father was slain, the illustrious Satyabhama, stricken with grief, mounted her chariot and went to the city of Varanavata.
Satyabhama, afflicted by sorrow, reported to her husband the deeds of Shatadhanvan, son of Bhoja, and wept at his side.
Hari performed the funeral rites for the burned Pandavas, and for the same purpose he instructed Satyaki regarding their brothers.
Then Madhusudana swiftly came to Dvaraka and spoke these words to his elder brother, the illustrious wielder of the plough.
'Prasena was killed by a lion, and Satrajit by Shatadhanvan; Syamantaka is on his path—attack there, O lord!'
'Now mount the chariot quickly; after slaying the mighty Bhoja, O strong-armed one, the Syamantaka jewel will be ours.'
Then, as the tumultuous battle began between Bhoja and Krishna, Shatadhanvan did not see Akrura anywhere in any direction.
Though able, Akrura did not join, due to age, after Bhoja and Janardana had dismounted from their chariots with their horses unharmed.
Then, filled with fear, he resolved again to flee, and traveled over a hundred yojanas in his flight.
The horse named Vijñātahṛdayā, capable of going a hundred yojanas, was the mare of Bhoja, by which he fought Krishna.
That mare, with greatly increased speed, covered a hundred yojanas of road, but when seen from the chariot, she exhausted Shatadhanvan.
Then, O twice-born, the horses, exhausted and fatigued, gave up their lives on the chariot, and Krishna spoke to Rama.
'Stay here, O mighty-armed one; I have seen the horses are spent. Going on foot, I will seize the Syamantaka jewel.'
Then Achyuta, proceeding on foot, slew Shatadhanvan, the king of Mithila and master of supreme weapons.
But after slaying the mighty Bhoja, he did not see the Syamantaka jewel; then the wielder of the plough said to Krishna, 'Return the jewel.'
Krishna replied, 'It is not here.' Then Rama, filled with anger, repeatedly uttered words of reproach to Janardana.
