ततस्ते तपसा युक्ता स्थानान्यापूरयन्ति वै। सत्यैन ब्रह्मचर्येण श्रुतेन च समन्विताः ।। ६१.
Then, endowed with austerity, they indeed fill the stations, accompanied by truth, celibacy, and learning.
सप्तर्षीणं मनोश्चैव देवानां पितृभिः सह। निधनानीह पूर्वेषामादिना च भविष्यता ।। ६१.
The Seven Sages, Manu, and the gods together with the ancestors, are the endings here of the former and the future beginnings.
तेषामत्यन्तविच्छेद इह मन्वन्तरक्षयात्। एवं पूर्वानुपूर्व्येण स्थितिरेषानवस्थिता। मन्वन्तरेषु सर्वेषु यावदाभूतसंप्लवम् ।। ६१.
For them, the absolute interruption occurs here at the end of a Manvantara; thus, in succession, this unstable existence persists in all Manvantaras until the great dissolution arises.
एवं मन्वन्तराणान्तु प्रतिसन्धानलक्षणम्। अतीतानागतानान्तु प्रोक्तं स्वायम्भुवेन तु ।। ६१.
Thus, the characteristic of the connection between Manvantaras, both past and future, has been declared by Svāyambhuva.
मन्वन्तरेष्वतीतेषु भविष्याणां तु साधनम् । एवमत्यन्तविच्छिन्नं भवत्याभूतसंप्लवात् ।। ६१.
In the past Manvantaras, the means for those yet to come is thus absolutely interrupted by the great dissolution.
मन्वन्तराणां परिवर्त्तनानि एकान्ततस्तानि महर्गतानि। महर्जनञ्चैव जनन्तपश्च एकान्तगानि स्म भवन्ति सत्ये ।। ६१.
The cycles of the Manvantaras, entirely, reach the Maharloka; Maharloka, Janaloka, and Tapoloka, all go completely into Satyaloka.
तद्भाविनां तत्र तु दर्शनेन नानात्वदृष्टेन च प्रत्ययेन। सत्ये स्थितानीह तदा तु तानि प्रप्ते विकारे प्रतिसर्गकाले ।। ६१.
There, for those destined, by perception and conviction of various views, those established in Satya remain here; then, when change comes at the time of re-creation, they depart.
मन्वन्तराणां परिवर्त्तनानि मुञ्चन्ति सत्यन्तु ततोऽपरान्ते। ततोऽभियोगाद्विषमप्रमाणं विशन्ति नारायणमेव देवम् ।। ६१.
The cycles of the Manvantaras are released at the end of Satya; then, through effort, they enter the immeasurable Narayana, the divine.
मन्वन्तराणां परिवर्त्तनेषु चिरप्रवृत्तेषु निधिस्वभावात्। क्षणं रसं तिष्ठति जीवलोकः क्षयोदयाभ्यां परिवन्दमानः ।। ६१.
In the long-persisting cycles of Manvantaras, due to their nature as repositories, the world of living beings remains for a moment, being praised at both decline and rise.
इत्युत्तराण्येवमृषिस्तुतानां धर्मात्मनां दिव्यदृशां मनूनाम्। वायुप्रणीतान्युपलभ्य दृश्यं दिव्यौजसा व्याससमासयोगैः ।। ६१.
Thus, having perceived these subsequent, divinely-sighted Manus, praised by sages of righteous soul, composed by Vayu, and seen through the power of Vyasa's concise arrangement.
सर्वाणि राजर्षिसुरर्षिमन्ति ब्रह्मर्षिदेवोरगवन्ति चैव। सुरेशसप्तर्षिपितृप्रजैशैर्युक्तानि सम्यक् परिवर्त्तनानि ।। ६१.
All the cycles, indeed, of royal sages, divine sages, Brahman sages, gods, serpents, and also the lords of gods, Seven Sages, ancestors, and progenitors, are properly endowed.
उदारवंशाभिजनद्युतीनां प्रकृष्टमेधाभिसमेधितानाम्। कीर्तिद्युतिख्यातिभिरन्वितानां पुण्यं हि विख्यापनमीश्वराणाम् ।। ६१.
Of noble lineage, distinguished birth, radiant, endowed with supreme intelligence, accompanied by fame, brilliance, and renown, this is indeed the sacred proclamation of the lords.
स्वर्गीयमेतत् परमं पवित्रं पुत्रीयमेतच्च परं रहस्यम्। जप्यं महत्पर्वसु चैतदग्र्यं दुःस्वप्नशान्तिः परमायुषेयम् ।। ६१.
This is heavenly, supreme, pure; it is for offspring and the highest secret; it is to be recited at great festivals, foremost, for the appeasement of bad dreams, and for supreme longevity.
प्रजेशदेवर्षिमनुप्रधानां पुण्यप्रसूतिं प्रथितामजस्य। ममापि विख्यापनसंयमाय सिद्धिं जुषध्वं सुमहेशतत्वम् । ६१.
Of the progenitors, divine sages, and Manus as leaders, the renowned origin of the unborn, for my own restraint in proclamation, may you accept the attainment of the highest greatness.
इत्येतदन्तरं प्रोक्तं मनोः स्वायम्भुवस्य तु। विस्तरेणानुपूर्व्या च भूयः किं वर्णयाम्यहम् ।। ६१.
