अनेनैव शरीरेण जरामरणवर्जितः
With this very body, you shall be free from old age and death.
पार्षदानां वरिष्ठस्त्वं मामकानां द्विजोत्तम 213.
You will be the foremost among my attendants, O best of the twice-born.
प्राप्तमष्टगुणं सत्यमैश्वर्यं ते तपोधन
You have attained the eightfold excellence and sovereignty, O possessor of austerity.
अद्यप्रभृति देवाग्र्य देवकार्येषु सर्वतः
From this day forward, you shall be preeminent among the gods in all divine undertakings.
त्वामेवाभ्यर्च्चयिष्यन्ति सर्वभूतानि सर्वतः
All beings everywhere will worship you alone.
वरान्वरार्थिनां दाता विधाता जगतः सदा
You will always be the bestower of boons to those who seek them, and the sustainer of the world.
यस्त्वां द्वेष्टि स मां द्वेष्टि यस्त्वामनु स मामनु
Whoever hates you, hates me; whoever follows you, follows me.
द्वारे तु दक्षिणे नित्यं त्वया स्थेयं गणाधिप
You must always stand at the southern gate, O lord of the hosts.
प्रतीहारो भवानद्य सर्वदा त्रिदशोत्तमः
From today, you shall be the doorkeeper at all times, O best of the gods.
न वज्रेण न दण्डेन न चक्रेण न चाग्निना
Not by the thunderbolt, nor by the staff, nor by the discus, nor by fire—
देवदानवगन्धर्वा यक्षराक्षसपन्नगाः
—can gods, demons, gandharvas, yakshas, rakshasas, or serpents—
त्वयि तुष्टे ह्यहं तुष्टः कुपिते कुपितस्त्वहम् 213.
When you are pleased, I am pleased; when you are angry, I am angry.
एवं तस्मै वरान्दत्त्वा प्रीतः स्वयमुमापतिः
Thus, having granted him boons, the Lord of Uma, pleased, himself—
आगतान्विद्धि सर्वान्वै त्रिदशान्समरुद्गणान्
Know that all the gods who have come, along with the hosts of Maruts, are present.
यदीरितं मया वत्स वरं प्रतिवचस्त्वयि
Whatever boon I have declared to you, dear one, let it be answered.
नारायणं पुरस्कृत्य सेन्द्रास्ते समरुद्गणाः
Having Narayana at their head, those with Indra and the hosts of Maruts—
यक्षविद्याधरगणाः सिद्धगन्धर्वपन्नगाः
The hosts of Yakshas, Vidyadharas, Siddhas, Gandharvas, and Nagas—
ते बुद्ध्वा त्वद्गतामृद्धि प्रतप्ताः परमेर्ष्यया
Having realized that your prosperity is attained, they are tormented by intense envy.
चर्तुं समभिवाञ्छन्ति सदाभ्यासे वरार्थिनः
Always, those who seek boons long to practice here.
अत्रैते यावदागम्य न मां पश्यन्ति मानवाः
Here, until they arrive, mortals do not see me.
अद्य ते तु मया सर्वे देवा ब्रह्मपुरोगमाः
But today, all the gods, led by Brahma, are with you through me.
अभिप्रायं च सर्वेषां जानामि द्विजसत्तम 213.
O best of twice-born, I know the intention of them all.
इति श्रीवराहपुराणे भगवच्छास्त्रे गोकर्णेश्वरमाहात्म्ये त्रयोदशाधिकद्विशततमोऽ ध्यायः
Thus ends the two hundred thirteenth chapter in the glorification of Gokarneshvara, in the divine scripture of the Varaha Purana.
; पुनः गोकर्णमाहात्म्यनन्दिकेश्वरवरप्रदानवर्णनम् अन्तर्हितं ततस्तस्मिन्भवे वै भूतनायके
Again, the account of the greatness of Gokarna and the granting of boons by Nandikeshvara: Then, in that existence, the lord of beings became invisible.
चतुर्भुजस्त्रिणयनो दिव्यसंस्थानसंस्थितः
He stood there with four arms, three eyes, and a divine form.
त्रिशूली परिघी दण्डी पिनाकी मौञ्जमेखली
Holding a trident, a club, a staff, and the Pinaka bow, wearing a girdle of munja grass—
आस्थितः पादमाकृष्य ह्याह्वयन्निव स द्विजः
He stood, drawing back his foot, as if calling out, that twice-born one.
तं दृष्ट्वा खेचराः सर्वा देवताः परिशंकिताः
Seeing him, all the celestial beings moving in the sky became apprehensive.
तेभ्यः श्रुत्वा सहस्राक्षः सर्वे चान्ये दिवौकसः
Hearing this, the thousand-eyed one and all the other dwellers of heaven—
अयं कश्चिद्वरं लब्ध्वा ह्युमाकान्तान्महेश्वरात्
‘This one, having obtained a boon from Maheshvara, beloved of Uma—
