When, with concentrated mind, one perceives the Soma residing in his body,
and sees it arisen upon the forehead, then he is freed from his sins.
Whatever impurity has been committed in mind, action, or speech,
there is liberation from the sins done by speech and mind.
Then, the person destroys all his misdeeds.
Indeed, whoever meditates upon the imperishable is released from sins.
When the moon, gentle in form, makes a circumambulation,
then the moon attains purity, just as it does in autumn.
O sage, when a man sees the pure moon situated at the hips,
and meditates upon the moist moon with moist deeds, reciting the eight-hundred-syllabled mantra,
both full and spotless, shining perfectly with their own brilliance,
having seen the dwarf Brahmin and the Varaha arisen from the waters,
He should bow, indeed, the one who partakes of milk, and is freed from sins.
Thus ends the two hundred and tenth chapter, named 'Description of the Means for the Destruction of Sin in the Cycle of Samsara,' in the Divine Scripture of the Varaha Purana.
Again, the description of the means for the destruction of sin. Having heard these auspicious words of Dharmaraja, Narada,
Narada said: O Dharmaraja, mighty-armed, whose valor equals that of the ancestors,
For the welfare of the Brahmins, whatever you have spoken to me regarding circumambulation,
O fortunate one, three castes partake equally in sacrifice.
Just as you, O bestower of honor, are impartial toward all beings,
So too, let beneficial actions and words be spoken even to Śūdras; I shall tell you what is always proper for the four classes.
That which is beneficial and in accord with righteousness is ever to be practiced, O steadfast one.
I shall declare this, which destroys sin; listen to it.
Whoever listens to these with devotion is freed from sins.
He is released at that very moment from sins committed throughout his life.
Having obtained the merit of all holy bathing places, he is freed from sins.
He quickly burns away all faults arising from sinful deeds—of this there is no doubt.
He who receives them with bowed head is freed from sins.
He who worships with a pure heart is freed from sins.
He who worships with a pure heart is freed from sins.
For him, the sun becomes gracious, and whatever is inauspicious is swept away.
