तत्राधिवासनं कुर्याद्विधिवन्मन्त्रपूर्वकम्
There, one should perform the consecration according to the prescribed ritual, preceded by mantras.
सर्वौषधीसमायुक्ताः सहकारविभूषिताः
They should be adorned with all medicinal herbs and decorated with mango leaves.
गुरोस्तु वचनाद्देवि मनोज्ञान्सुखशीतलान् 186.
O Devi, by the guru’s instruction, they should be pleasant, delightful, and cool.
मन्त्रः - योऽसौ भवान् सर्वलोकैककर्त्ता सर्वाध्यक्षः सर्वरूपैकरूपः
Mantra: He who is the sole creator of all worlds, the overseer of all, whose form is the form of all forms.
नमोऽनन्तायेति दिशासु च प्रसन्नासु द्वारमूलमुपानयेत्
With the mantra 'Salutations to the infinite', when the directions are auspicious, he should bring it to the threshold.
एवं संस्थापनं कृत्वा मम कर्मानुसारिणः
Thus, having established it according to my prescribed ritual,
अभिषिच्य ततः पश्चात्स्थापयेत विधानतः
After anointing, he should then place it according to the proper procedure.
मन्त्रः - गङ्गादिभ्यो नदीभ्यश्च सागरेभ्यो मया हृतम्
Mantra: From the Ganges and other rivers, and from the oceans, I have taken [this water].
एवं स्नाप्य विधानेन गृहस्याभ्यन्तरं नयेत्
Thus, having bathed it according to the ritual, he should bring it inside the house.
मन्त्रः – वेदैर्वेद्यो वेदविद्भिश्च पूज्यो यज्ञात्मको यज्ञफलप्रदाता
Mantra: He who is known through the Vedas, worshipped by those who know the Vedas, whose essence is sacrifice, and who grants the fruits of sacrifice.
धनजन रूप्यस्वर्ण अनन्ताय नम इति अर्चयित्वा यथान्यायं पूर्वोक्तविधिना नरः
With wealth, silver, and gold, saying 'Salutations to the infinite', after worshipping according to the previously mentioned method, the man—
नील वस्त्राणि मे दद्यात्प्रियाणि मम भूषणम्
He should give me blue garments, beloved ornaments of mine.
नमो नारायणायेति उक्त्वा काममुदाहरेत् ।।186.
Saying 'Salutations to Narayana', he should express his wish as desired.
मन्त्रः - योऽसौ भवांश्चन्द्ररश्मिप्रकाशः शंखेन कुन्देन समानवर्णः
Mantra: He who is yourself, shining with the radiance of moonbeams, whose color matches that of the conch and jasmine.
वेषः सुवेषः अनन्तः अमरः मारणः कारणः सुलभः दुर्ल्लभः श्रेष्ठः सुवर्चा इति ततो मे प्रापणं दद्याद्भक्तियुक्तेन चेतसा
Form, beautiful form, endless, immortal, destroyer, cause, easily attained, hard to attain, excellent, radiant—thus, with a mind joined in devotion, one should offer the prāpaṇa to Me.
नमो नारायणायेति इमं मन्त्रमुदाहरेत्
One should recite this mantra: 'Salutations to Nārāyaṇa.'
प्रापणं गृह्यतां देव अनन्त पुरुषोत्तम
O Lord, O Ananta, O Supreme Person, accept this prāpaṇa.
सर्वलोकहितार्थाय शान्तिपाठमुदाहरेत्
For the welfare of all worlds, one should recite the peace invocation.
रात्रिश्चैव तु सन्ध्ये द्वे नक्षत्राणि ग्रहा दिशः
Night, the two twilights, the stars, the planets, and the directions—
अचल चंचल सचल खेचल प्रचल अरविन्दप्रभ उद्भव चेति नमः संस्थापितानां वासुदेव इति पूज्य भागवतांस्तत्र यथाविभवशक्तितः
To the unmoving, the moving, the moving with others, the sky-movers, the swift, the lotus-radiant, the arisen—salutations to all those established as Vāsudeva; let the devotees be worshipped there according to one's means and ability.
ब्राह्मणान्भोजयेत्तत्र गुरुं मन्त्रेण पूजयेत्
There, one should feed the Brāhmaṇas and worship the guru with the mantra.
ब्राह्मणान्स्वजनं चैव अभिवाद्य कृताञ्जलिः
With joined palms, having saluted the Brāhmaṇas and one's own people—
ततो गुरुं च संपूज्य दानमानादिभिर्विभुम् 186.
Then, having worshipped the guru with gifts, honor, and so forth, the Lord—
जलस्य बिन्दवो येऽन्नभोजनान्ते पतन्ति हि
The drops of water that fall at the end of the meal—
य एतेन विधानेन पूजयेन्मतिमान्नरः
Whoever, wise, worships in this manner—
अनेन विधिना देवि रौप्यार्च्चास्थापनं मम
By this rite, O goddess, the establishment of my silver image—
यथैव राजती कुर्यात्तथैव च सुवर्णिकाम्
Just as one should do with a silver image, so also with a golden one.
यत्फलं दारुशैलादिनाम्ना कांस्यादिराजते
The fruit that comes from wooden, stone, and other images, so also from bronze and silver.
कुलानि तारयेत्सुभ्रु अयुतान्येकविंशतिम्
O beautiful one, it delivers twenty-one thousand families.
एतत्ते कथितं भूमे यत्त्वया परिपृच्छितम्
This has been told to you, O Earth, as you have asked.
