ताम्रेण कांस्यरौप्येण सौवर्णत्रपु रीतिभिः
By the methods prescribed for copper, bell-metal, silver, gold, or tin,
अर्चनं त्वपरं वेद्यां मम कमर्परिग्रहात्
Another form of worship for me on the altar is through the acceptance of offerings.
गृहं चालोच्य कश्चिन्मां पूजयेत्कामनापरः
Considering his household, someone intent on desire may worship me.
भूमे एवं विजानीहि स्थापितोऽहं न संशयः
Know, O Earth, that in this way I am established—there is no doubt.
मन्त्रैर्वा विधिपूर्वेण यो मे कर्माणि कारयेत्
Whoever performs my rites with mantras or according to the prescribed rules,
तत्तत्फलं प्रयच्छामि प्रसन्नेनान्तरात्मना 183.
I grant each respective fruit with a pleased inner self.
मद्भक्तः सततं नित्यं कर्मणा परिवेष्टितः
My devotee, ever constant and always engaged in action,
दद्याज्जलाञ्जलिं मह्यं तेन मे प्रीतिरुत्तमा
should offer a handful of water to Me; by that, My supreme delight is attained.
मह्यं चिन्तयतो नित्यं निभृतेनान्तरात्मना
One who, with a tranquil inner self, continually contemplates Me,
एतत्ते सर्वमाख्यातं सुगोप्यं च प्रयत्नतः
All this, most secret and carefully guarded, has been revealed to you.
श्रवणे चैव नक्षत्रे कुर्यात्तस्याधिवासनम्
On the day of hearing, under the proper constellation, one should perform its consecration.
पंचगव्यं च गन्धं च वारिणा सह मिश्रयेत्
One should mix pañcagavya and fragrant substances together with water.
मन्त्रः- योऽसौ भवान्सर्वजगत्प्रकर्त्ता यस्य प्रसादेन भवन्ति लोकाः
Mantra: You, the creator of all worlds, by whose grace the worlds exist—
कारणकारणं ह्युग्रतेजसं द्युतिमन्तं महापुरुषं नमो नमः अनेनैव तु मन्त्रेण स्थापयेन्मां समाहितः चतुरस्तान्गृहीत्वा च इमं मन्त्रमुदाहरेत्
the cause of causes, of fierce energy, radiant, the Great Person—salutations, again and again. With this very mantra, with focused mind, one should install Me, taking four vessels, and recite this mantra.
मन्त्रः – ॐ वरुणं समुद्रो लब्ध्वा संपूजितो ह्यात्ममतिप्रसन्नः अग्निश्च भूमिश्च रसाश्च सर्वे भवन्ति यस्मात्सततं नमस्ये
Mantra: Om. Having obtained Varuṇa, the ocean, and having been duly worshipped, the self becomes most pleased; Agni, Earth, and all the waters—because of whom all these always exist—I bow.
एवमास्नाप्य विधिवन्मम कर्मपरायणः 183.
Thus, having bathed (the image) according to the prescribed method, devoted to My rites,
अगुरुं चैव धूपं च सकर्पूरं सकुङ्कुमम्
One should offer aguru, incense with camphor, and saffron.
धूपं दत्त्वा यथान्यायं पीतं वस्त्रं तु दापयेत्
After offering incense as appropriate, one should present yellow cloth.
मन्त्रः- वस्त्रेण पीतेन सदा प्रसन्नो यस्मिन्प्रसन्ने तु जगत्प्रसन्नम्
Mantra: Always pleased with yellow cloth, when He is pleased, the world is pleased.
तत एतेन मंत्रेण वस्त्रं दद्याद्यथोचितम्
Then, with this mantra, one should offer cloth as is proper.
पूर्वोक्तेन विधानेन दद्यात्प्रापणकं नरः
According to the previously described procedure, a man should offer a gift vessel.
मन्त्रः- शान्तिर्भवतु देवानां ब्रह्म क्षत्रविशां तथा
Mantra: May there be peace for the gods, for Brahmins, warriors, and people.
देवो वर्षतु पर्जन्यः पृथिवी सस्यपूरिता
May the god Parjanya send rain, and may the earth be filled with crops.
पश्चाद्भागवतान्पूज्य ततो ब्राह्मणपूजनम्
Afterwards, having worshipped the devotees of Bhagavān, one should then worship the Brahmins.
अच्छिद्रं वाच्य पश्चाच्च कुर्यादेवं विसर्जनम्
Afterwards, one should speak without error and then perform the dismissal in this manner.
पूजयेत्तांश्च विधिवद्वस्त्रालंकारभूषणैः 183.
One should worship them properly with garments, ornaments, and decorations.
यो गुरुं पूजयेद्भक्त्या विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा
Whoever worships the teacher with devotion, according to the prescribed rite,
तुष्टो ददाति कृच्छ्रेण ग्राममात्रं नराधिपः
When pleased, the king grants with difficulty a village's worth.
तथैव मम शास्त्रेषु ममैव वचनाच्छुभे
In the same way, in my scriptures, by my own auspicious command,
य एतेन विधानेन कुर्यात्संस्थापनं मम
Whoever establishes me by this procedure,
