Nārada said: I will always recite this in Brahmaloka before Brahmā.
And Sumantu will proclaim it among mortals, O lord, how, having gone to the eastern mountain, he became like a lump of flesh.
By your grace, though I am sinless, I have suffered great distress; just as by worshipping the god at the eastern mountain, one attains the fruit.
Likewise, by going to Mathurā, at the six Suns, one attains the fruit.
And in Mathurā, at midday, at the midday Sun as well.
And in Mathurā, reciting at sunrise and sunset of the Sun, one attains merit.
After bathing in the Krishna-Ganga, one should worship the Sun with diligence.
Śrī Varāha said: Mathurā, which grants the fruit of liberation, inspires eagerness for worship of the Sun.
Following the procedure spoken by Nārada, Sāmba, son of Jāmbavatī,
Having composed his mind through yoga, Sāmba stood before the Sun at that time.
Tell me, in my presence, how the Sun was pleased by Nārada’s worship.
O hero, as I have been praised by you, I am always pleased with you.
The Sun appeared with distinct limbs, manifest before Sāmba, as a second Sun.
The Sun, joined with Sāmba, instructed him, and it was midday.
One who bathes and beholds the Sun at midday is freed from all sins.
In the evening, standing on the southern bank of the Krishna-Ganga,
With a mind purified from all sins, one attains the supreme Brahman. Thus, Sāmba, pleased at midday, from the sky,
By practicing yoga in two ways, Sāmba’s leprosy was removed.
Sāmba, together with the Sun, who was seated in a chariot, day and night,
It is proclaimed that this will happen, and it is known as ever new.
Taking refuge at the eastern mountain and on the southern bank of the Yamunā,
Afterwards, at the root place, the Sun sets at the western mountain.
Thus, Sāmba established one (image) in Mathurā, O Earth.
Thus, the city named Sāmbapura in Mathurā is the lord of the clan.
On the seventh day of the month of Māgha, people attain the divine city of Sāmbapura.
They reach that peaceful abode, which transcends even the solar sphere.
The narration called 'Pacification of Sin' destroys even great sins.
Thus ends the one hundred seventy-seventh chapter, entitled 'The Establishment of the Threefold Sūrya by Sāmba,' in the glorious Varāha Purāṇa.
Śrī Varāha said: For the sake of blessing the twice-born, food of a fierce nature is to be given.
On the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Mārgaśīrṣa, having fasted, disciplined, and pure,
