श्रीवराह उवाच गोवर्द्धने सोपवासः कुर्यात्तत्र प्रदक्षिणाम्
Śrī Varāha said: At Govardhana, one should fast and perform circumambulation there.
स्नात्वा मानसगङ्गायां प्रभाते उदिते रवौ
After bathing in the Mānasa Gaṅgā at dawn, when the sun has risen,
पुण्डरीकं ततो गच्छेत्कुण्डे स्नात्वा विधानतः
then one should go to Puṇḍarīka, and bathe in the pond according to the prescribed method.
सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तः प्रयाति भवनं हरेः 164.
Freed from all sins, one proceeds to the abode of Hari.
तत्र स्नानं तर्पणं च कृत्वा फलमवाप्नुयात्
There, after performing bathing and offerings to the ancestors, one attains the reward.
तीर्थं संकर्षणं नाम्ना बलभद्रेण रक्षितम्
The sacred place named Saṃkarṣaṇa is protected by Balabhadra.
स्नानाद्गच्छति सा क्षिप्रं नाऽत्र कार्या विचारणा
By bathing there, one quickly attains that (fruit); there is no need for any doubt about this.
तत्र कृष्णेन पूजार्थमिन्द्रस्य विहतो मखः
There, for the sake of worship, Indra's sacrifice was interrupted by Kṛṣṇa.
कृत्वा तुष्टिकरान्साक्षादिन्द्रेण सह संकथा
Having performed acts that brought satisfaction, he conversed directly with Indra.
तासां गवां रक्षणाय धृतो गिरिवरस्तदा
At that time, the great mountain was held up for the protection of those cows.
देवा देव्यस्तथा गावो ऋषिभिश्च समन्विताः
The gods, goddesses, and cows, along with the sages, were present there.
तस्मिन्स्थाने तर्पणेन शतक्रतुफलं लभेत्
At that place, by making offerings, one obtains the fruit of a hundred sacrifices.
स्नात्वा पितॄन्समभ्यर्च्य ब्रह्मलोकमवाप्नुयात्
After bathing and duly honoring the ancestors, one attains the world of Brahmā.
यत्र स्नानाद्दर्शनाच्च वाजपेयफलं लभेत् 164.
Where, by bathing and by sight alone, one obtains the fruit of the Vājapeya sacrifice.
कुण्डे स्नात्वा पितॄँस्तर्प्य कृतकृत्यो दिवं व्रजेत्
Having bathed in the pond and offered oblations to the ancestors, one fulfills one's duty and ascends to heaven.
अरिष्टेन समं यत्र महद्युद्धं प्रवर्त्तितम्
Where, together with Ariṣṭa, a great battle was waged.
कोपेन पार्ष्णिघातेन मह्यां तीर्थं प्रवर्तितम्
Out of anger, by striking with the heel, a sacred place was established on the earth.
स्नातस्तत्र तदा कृष्णो वृषं हत्वा महासुरम्
There, having bathed, Kṛṣṇa once slew the mighty demon in the form of a bull.
वृषो हतो मया चायमरिष्टः पापपूरुषः
The bull was slain by me, and this Ariṣṭa, a sinful being.
स्वनाम्ना विदितं कुण्डं कृतं तीर्थमदूरतः
A pond known by its own name was created, with a sacred site nearby.
अरिष्टराधाकुण्डाभ्यां स्नानात्फलमवाप्नुयात्
By bathing in Ariṣṭa and Rādhā ponds, one attains the fruit.
गोनरब्रह्महत्यायाः पापं क्षिप्रं विनश्यति
The sin of killing a cow or a Brahmin is quickly destroyed.
यस्य दर्शनमात्रेण सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते
By merely seeing it, one is freed from all sins.
इन्द्रध्वजमिति ख्यातं तीर्थ चैवातिमुक्तिदम् 164.
The sacred site is known as Indradhvaja and grants supreme liberation.
ततो हरो निवेद्याशु यात्राफलमनुत्तमम्
Then Hara swiftly declared the unsurpassed fruit of the pilgrimage.
समाप्य तीर्थयात्रां च रात्रौ जागरणं तथा
Having completed the pilgrimage to the sacred sites, one should also keep vigil at night.
एकादश्यां तदा रात्रौ कृत्वा जागरणं शुभम्
On the night of Ekādaśī, one should perform the auspicious vigil.
पितॄणां मुक्तिदं तेषां य एवं कुरुते नरः
Whoever does so grants liberation to his ancestors.
एतत्ते कथितं भद्रे अन्नकूटपरिक्रमम्
O blessed one, thus I have described to you the circumambulation of Annakūṭa.
य एतच्छृणुयाद्भक्त्या तीर्थानुकमणं हरेः
Whoever hears with devotion this account of Hari's pilgrimage to the sacred sites—
