अयोध्याधिपती रामो हन्तुं राक्षसपुङ्गवम्
Rama, the lord of Ayodhya, slew the foremost among the Rakshasas.
विभीषणश्च लङ्काया आधिपत्येऽभिषेचितः
And Vibhishana was consecrated as the ruler of Lanka.
श्रीराम उवाच देवो मे दीयतां रक्षः शक्रलोकाद्य आगतः
Sri Rama said: 'Give me the deity, the Rakshasa who has come today from the world of Indra.'
अहन्यहनि पूजामि देवं वाराहरूपिणम्
Day after day, I worship the god in the form of Varaha.
ततः समर्पयामास कपिलं दिव्यरूपिणम् १६३.
Then he offered Kapila, who had a divine form.
अयोध्यायां स्थापयित्वा पूजयामास तं तदा
Having established him in Ayodhya, he worshipped him at that time.
लवणस्य वधार्थं हि शत्रुघ्नं प्रेषयत्तदा
Then, for the purpose of killing Lavana, he sent Shatrughna.
चतुरङ्गबलोपेतो जगाम मथुरां प्रति
Accompanied by a fourfold army, he went towards Mathura.
घातयित्वा तु शत्रुघ्नः प्रविश्य मथुरां पुरीम्
Having slain (Lavana), Shatrughna entered the city of Mathura.
षड्विंशतिसहस्राणि वेदवेदाङ्गपारगान्
Twenty-six thousand Brahmins, accomplished in the Vedas and Vedangas,
एकस्मिन्भोजिते विप्रे कोटिर्भवति भोजितः
When one Brahmin is fed, it is as if a crore are fed.
लवणस्य वधं श्रुत्वा राघवो वाक्यमब्रवीत्
Hearing of Lavana's death, Raghava spoke these words.
राघवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा शत्रुघ्नो वाक्यमब्रवीत्
Hearing Raghava's words, Shatrughna spoke.
दीयतां मम देवोऽयं यदि मे वरदो भवान्
Grant me this deity, if you are indeed a giver of boons to me.
नय शत्रुघ्न देवं त्वं दिव्यं वाराहरूपिणम् १६३.
Take, O Shatrughna, the divine god in the form of Varaha.
धन्यास्ते माथुरा लोकाः पश्यन्ति कपिलं सदा
Blessed are the people of Mathura, who always behold Kapila.
अनुलिप्तश्च शत्रुघ्न सर्वपापं व्यपोहति
And Shatrughna, being anointed, removes all sin.
सर्वं हरति वै पापं मोक्षं चैव प्रयच्छति
He indeed destroys all sin and also grants liberation.
देवमादाय शत्रुघ्नो जगाम मथुरां पुरीम्
Taking the deity, Shatrughna went to the city of Mathura.
तत्र मध्ये तु संस्थाप्य पूजयामास राघवः
There, in the center, Raghava installed and worshipped him.
गयायां पिण्डदानेन यत्फलं ज्यष्ठेपुष्करे
The fruit obtained by offering oblations at Gaya, or at Jyeshtha Pushkara,
विश्रान्तिसंज्ञके तद्वद्गोविन्दे च तथा हरौ
so too at Vishranti, Govinda, and likewise at Hari.
उदये मामकं तेजः सदा विश्रांतिसंज्ञके केशवे मामकं तेजो दिनभागे चतुर्थके
At sunrise, my radiance is always at Vishranti; at Keshava, my radiance is present in the fourth part of the day.
एषा विद्या पुरा देवि नित्यकालं सुगो पिता
This knowledge, O goddess, is ancient; my father is ever virtuous.
इति श्रीवराहपुराणे मथुरामाहात्म्ये कपिलवराहमाहात्म्यं नाम त्रिषष्ट्यधिकशत तमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the one hundred sixty-third chapter, named 'The Greatness of Kapila Varaha,' in the section on the glory of Mathura, in the sacred Varaha Purana.
अथाऽन्नकूटपरिक्रमप्रभावः अस्ति गोवर्द्धनं नाम क्षेत्रं परमदुर्लभम्
Now, the greatness of circumambulating Annakuta: There is a place called Govardhana, supremely difficult to attain.
ह्रदं तत्र महाभागे द्रुमगुल्मलतायुतम्
There is a lake there, O highly fortunate one, filled with trees, bushes, and creepers.
ऐन्द्रं पूर्वेण पार्श्वेन यमतीर्थं तु दक्षिणे
To the east is the Indra lake, and to the south is the Yama tirtha.
तेषां मध्ये स्थितो भद्रे क्रीडयिष्ये यदृच्छया
O blessed one, I will play at will, dwelling among them.
मोदते शक्रलोके तु सर्वद्वन्द्वविवर्जितः
He rejoices in the world of Indra, free from all dualities.
