क्षिप्तः पिण्डश्च तन्मध्ये येन केन विकर्मिणा
If any wrongdoer throws a lump there into its midst,
तावत्कश्चिन्न गृह्णाति यावत्तेन न भक्षितः
No one takes it until it is consumed by that very person.
अगाधं चाप्यपारं च रक्तपद्मविभूषितम्
It is unfathomable and boundless, adorned with red lotuses.
बुधस्य भवनं गत्वा मोदते नात्र संशयः
Having reached the abode of Budha, one rejoices—of this there is no doubt.
बुधस्य भवनं त्यक्त्वा मम लोकं प्रपद्यते
Leaving the abode of Budha, one attains my world.
मनुजास्तन्न पश्यन्ति मम कर्मरता न ये
Humans do not see that place who are not devoted to my works.
मनोज्ञं रमणीयं च जलजैश्चापि संवृतम् 150.
It is charming and delightful, and covered with lotuses.
एकं तु दृश्यते श्वेतमब्जं रुक्ममयं तथा
There is seen a single white lotus, and also one made of gold.
धारा चैका प्रपतति स्थूला मुसलसन्निभा
A single stream falls, thick like a pestle.
ब्रह्मलोकं समासाद्य मोदते नात्र संशयः
Reaching the world of Brahma, he rejoices—of this there is no doubt.
ब्रह्मणा समनुज्ञातो मम लोकं च गच्छति
Sanctioned by Brahma, he also attains my own realm.
मद्भक्ता यच्च पश्यन्ति घोरसंसारमोक्षणम्
And my devotees, seeing the liberation from the terrible cycle of worldly existence—
भूमे पतति मध्याह्ने यावत्सूर्यस्तु तिष्ठति
It falls to the earth at midday, as long as the sun remains.
एवं तत्र महाश्चर्यं पुण्यब्रह्मसरोवरे
Thus, there is a great wonder at that sacred lake of Brahma.
समुद्रश्चैव रामश्च समेष्येते वराङ्गने
The ocean and Rama, O beautiful-limbed one, will meet there.
बहुगुल्मलताकीर्णं शोभितं च विहङ्गमैः
Abundant with many bushes and creepers, adorned also by birds.
मण्डितं कुमुदैः पद्मैः सुगन्धैश्चोत्तमैस्तया 150.
Adorned with kumuda and lotus flowers, and with their finest fragrances.
समुद्रभवनं गत्वा मम लोकं प्रपद्यते
Going to the abode of the ocean, one attains my realm.
यद्दृष्ट्वा मनुजास्तत्र भ्रमन्ति विगतज्वराः
Seeing that, people wander there, their afflictions gone.
एकमप्यत्र पश्यन्ति न केपि वसुधे नराः
Not even one among men sees any dwelling there on earth.
प्रपन्नेनापि मार्गं तच्छिद्रं तत्र न पश्यति
Even one who has entered does not see the path or opening there.
तत्र पूर्वेण पार्श्वेण ह्यदूरादर्द्धयोजनात्
There, to the east, not far from the side, at half a yojana's distance—
धाराः पतन्ति कल्याणि प्रसन्नसलिलास्तथा
Streams fall, O auspicious one, and the waters are clear as well.
चतुर्णां लोकपालानां लोकानाप्नोति चोत्तमान्
He attains the highest worlds of the four guardians of the directions.
लोकपालान्समुत्सृज्य मम लोकेषु मोदते
Leaving behind the guardians of the directions, he delights in my worlds.
शुद्धैर्भागवतैर्भूमे सर्वसंसार मोक्षणम्
On earth, with pure devotees of the Lord, there is liberation from all worldly existence.
न च तद्वर्द्धते चाम्भो न चैव परिहीयते 150.
And that water neither increases nor decreases.
श्रूयते गीतनिर्घोषः श्रुतिकर्ममनोहरः
One hears the sound of singing, enchanting to the ear and pleasing to the mind.
जामदग्न्यस्य रामस्य स्वाश्रमोऽथ भविष्यति
There will be the hermitage of Rāma, son of Jamadagni.
शाल्मलीं चाग्रतः कृत्वाधिष्ठितश्चोत्तरामुखः
Having placed the Śālmalī tree in front, he remains facing north.
