He, bearing a garland of forest flowers and wielding a plough, shone with the radiance of the pale moon.
Hearing the words of Nārāyaṇa, the Earth, devoted to righteousness, desired their fulfillment.
The Earth said: How will Durvāsas pronounce that curse there? Tell me this.
Śrī Varāha said: Endowed with beauty and youth, and enjoying pleasures with me,
Her illustrious son, filled with pride in his beauty and youth,
While he was sporting thus, he caused a pregnancy through improper conduct.
O child, you desire a son; O sage, tell me about this.
Then he said: From your womb will come forth a pestle, the destroyer of your lineage.
Hearing the curse of Durvāsas, all those boys—
Then, seeing those boys who had come, I questioned them.
Hearing their words, I spoke thus; listen to this.
Thus, O Earth, I have told you the cause of the curse upon the Vṛṣṇis and others.
In Dvārakā, the blessed city that brings happiness to the devotees of Viṣṇu,
Leaving the seashore, which brought joy through my deeds,
He delights in the heights of heaven, surrounded by hosts of Apsarases.
Leaving the world of the gods, he is honored in my own realm.
With many excellent fruits, beautiful and shaped like jars,
No one obtains the fruit except a man devoted to the Bhāgavata.
Those who are established in my action attain supreme perfection.
Humans, filled with passion and greed, do not perceive him.
He rejoices in the seven continents and attains secret realms.
Renouncing all attachments, he reaches my world.
At Prabhāsa, where they listen, in the ocean, not towards the crocodile.
Then, here, if a man offers balls of food into clear water—
Even if not arrived, they receive them; thus it is, without doubt.
The righteous indeed receive only the offering, without doubt.
Even in deep and boundless waters, with a span's breadth—
He delights in the realm of Indra; thus it is, without doubt.
Leaving the realm of Indra, he attains my world.
The evil-doer does not see; only the doer of good sees.
