एवमुक्ते मया क्रोधादीक्षितस्तस्य चाश्रमः
Having spoken thus, out of anger, I gazed at his hermitage.
एतद्दुःखेन सन्तप्तो मन्युना च परिप्लुतः
Tormented by this suffering and overwhelmed by wrath,
ततोऽभ्रमद्विरूपाक्षः शं न प्राप्नोति कर्हिचित्
Then Virūpākṣa wandered, never attaining peace at any time.
तेन दाहेन सन्तप्तो न शक्नोमि विचेष्टितुम्
Afflicted by that burning, I am unable to move.
गच्छावस्तस्य वाक्येन सुखं यत्र भविष्यति
Let us go, by his word, to where happiness will be found.
विज्ञापयामो रुद्रस्य शापोऽयं विनिवर्त्तताम्
Let us petition Rudra so that this curse may be withdrawn.
और्वोऽप्युवाच नोक्तं मे अनृतं तु कदाचन
Aurva also said: Never has an untruth been spoken by me.
रुद्रशापो निवृत्तः स्यात्तेनैव किल नान्यथा
The curse of Rudra will be lifted only by that means, not otherwise.
सप्तसप्ततिः कल्याणि सौरभेया महौजसः 147.
Seventy-seven Saurabheyas of great might, O auspicious one.
तच्च गोनिष्क्रमं नाम तीर्थं परमपावनम्
That is called the 'departure of the cow,' a sacred and supreme tirtha.
गोलोकं च समासाद्य मोदते नात्र संशयः
Having attained Goloka, he rejoices; there is no doubt about this.
शंखचक्रगदायुक्तो मम लोके महीयते
Endowed with conch, discus, and mace, he is honored in my world.
तत्र स्नानं प्रकुर्वीत पंचरात्रोषितो नरः
There, a man who has fasted for five nights should perform bathing.
अथात्र मुञ्चते प्राणान्कृत्वा कर्म सुदुष्करम्
Then, having performed a most difficult deed, he relinquishes his life there.
अस्ति पंचपदं नाम तस्मिन्क्षेत्रे परं मम
There is a place called Pañcapada; in that field is my supreme abode.
मत्पूर्वां दिशमाश्रित्य तत्र ब्रह्मपदद्वयम्
Facing the eastern direction there, are two seats of Brahman.
ऊर्द्ध्वं नालपरीणाहं तत्र विष्णुपदं मम
Above, to the extent of a lotus-stalk, is my seat of Viṣṇu.
यांति शुद्धांस्तु लोकांस्ते ये च भागवतप्रियाः
Those pure souls who are dear to the devotees of the Lord reach those worlds.
विमुक्तः सर्वसंसारान्मम लोकं च गच्छति 147.
Freed from all worldly existence, one attains my world.
यत्र धारा पतत्येका पश्चिमां दिशमाश्रिता
Where a single stream falls, situated toward the west,
ब्रह्मलोकमवाप्नोति ब्रह्मणा सह मोदते
One attains the world of Brahmā and delights there together with Brahmā.
यज्ञानां वाजपेयानां फलं प्राप्नोति मानवः
A person obtains the fruit of Vājapeya sacrifices.
वाजपेयफलं भुक्त्वा मम लोकं प्रपद्यते
Having enjoyed the fruit of the Vājapeya, he attains my world.
पंचक्रोशं ततो गत्वा वायव्यां दिशि संस्थितः
Proceeding five krośas from there, situated in the northwest direction,
बहुयज्ञस्य कोटीनां फलं प्राप्नोति निष्कलम्
One obtains the undivided fruit of ten million great sacrifices.
यज्ञकोटिफलं भुक्त्वा मम कोटिं प्रपद्यते
Having enjoyed the fruit of ten million sacrifices, he attains my supreme abode.
पूर्वोत्तरेण पार्श्वेन पंचक्रोशं न संशयः
To the northeast side, five krośas—there is no doubt.
पंचक्रोशश्च विस्तारः पर्वतः परिमण्डलः
The mountain is circular, with a breadth of five krośas.
उपवासं त्रिरात्रं तु कृत्वा कर्म सुदुष्करम् 147.
By performing the difficult act of fasting for three nights,
तावद्वर्षसहस्राणि ब्रह्मलोके महीयते
One is honored in Brahmā’s world for as many as a thousand years.
