Moreover, there is another supreme secret: a field that is supremely pure.
Shri Varaha said: There is indeed another secret, upon the snowy peaks and rocky heights.
It is called 'the departure of the cow', where the cows were led away.
There, for seventy kalpas, Aurva, the lord of creatures, resided.
As he thus remained, when a great period of time had passed,
He did not seek any boon, being indifferent to gain and loss.
Then, after a long time, a certain Brahmayati arrived there.
The Lord also, O exalted one, approached that place.
There, Aurva, O noble one, practiced austerity with equanimity.
Having learned that Aurva had departed, all the ascetics
The place became filled with fruits and flowers, and prosperity arose.
And that place became reduced to ashes by the energy of the great Rudra.
The Lord then quickly reached the Himalaya.
Aurva, the foremost sage, also arrived at the hermitage.
Seeing his hermitage burned, with its many flowers, fruits, and waters,
He spoke, his eyes red with anger, uttering words as if scorching.
He too, afflicted by suffering, will wander among all the worlds.
Because of the great terror among the worlds, no one could restrain him.
Scorched by a great burning, Śambhu spoke to the goddess.
The entire world was being consumed by fire, yet he desired nothing at all.
Having spoken thus, out of anger, I gazed at his hermitage.
Tormented by this suffering and overwhelmed by wrath,
Then Virūpākṣa wandered, never attaining peace at any time.
Afflicted by that burning, I am unable to move.
Let us go, by his word, to where happiness will be found.
Let us petition Rudra so that this curse may be withdrawn.
Aurva also said: Never has an untruth been spoken by me.
The curse of Rudra will be lifted only by that means, not otherwise.
Seventy-seven Saurabheyas of great might, O auspicious one.
That is called the 'departure of the cow,' a sacred and supreme tirtha.
