But those whose minds are deluded, O lowest of men, encounter suffering.
Having set aside knowledge and yoga, with a single-pointed mind, worship me.
He whose mind is always fixed on me, who worships me with steadfast vow,
And indeed, O Earth, I formerly created (all this) for the sake of beings.
With a single-pointed mind, if one wishes to please me,
His ancestors, ten before and ten after, are liberated.
Abandoning desire and delusion, for the sake of the ancestors, one should approach a wife.
He should not touch a third (woman), and never a fourth.
Afterwards, he should bathe in water and put on clean garments.
His ancestors drink the semen—so it is, without doubt.
He who acts thus on the third or fourth day is a base man.
At the proper time, enjoyment with all women is permitted for the sake of progeny.
But the low man who refrains out of anger or delusion does not proceed.
I will tell you something else, listen to it, O Earth.
By their actions, those devoted to me attain my abode.
Knowledge, yoga, and Sāṃkhya do not exist without reliance upon the mind.
But he who, becoming a devotee, abides at the proper time—
Then, when the fourth day arrives there, O Earth—
Afterwards, one should cleanse the impurities of the head by bathing.
Then, making the intellect and mind tranquil, O Earth—
There, the mantra is: 'O goddess, origin, hidden, endless, middle, menstruating, O divine one, we bow to you.'
Then, O Earth, menstruating women are purified by this mantra.
Thus, O goddess, neither woman nor man is defiled.
All, every day, O auspicious one, follow my mind.
Then, becoming of one mind, O Earth, through restraint of the senses—
Those who always act thus—women, men, and the neuter—
Even today, men immersed in worldly existence do not know me.
Thousands of mothers and fathers, and hundreds of sons and wives—
The world is veiled by ignorance and is overpowered by delusion.
The mother goes one way, and indeed the father goes another.
